  1. Me and my family went to Walt Disney World over spring break, as most of you already know. I apologize for some of the pictures, I really just pulled out my iPod from time-to-time and snapped a quick pic. But I have a few good ones. Let me know which one you like best. We usually fly, but my moms boyfriend gets free gas and has a company car, so, why not? I actually managed to keep track of most of the stuff we did in my notes, so here we go... On march 28th, I believe, the first day on break we left for Cincinnati in the afternoon around 6-ish. We were heading to Cincy because our new house

  6. I hope they have something planned for this year. I liked the idea of fun perks. I deffinately spent more $ in the park with it. Yes there were hiccups with associates not knowing how to apply or use it, but for the most part I never had problems. The cost of a few free sodas and pretzels is minimum due to the cost of staffing/food cost is covered by the markup on regular priced items. I imagine the cost of setting that up last year with the POS system, website, and signage cost them quite a bit, but to scrap it after 1 year seems like corporate wasn't happy with the ROI. I ate in the p

  9. Using your rewards was, at best, like pulling teeth. Employees not knowing how to apply the discounts properly being the main culprit that I witnessed. We DO get a discount on food, if I read the website correctly before by using our gold passes. 10% I thought. I certainly hope that they do come up with an alternative, and, do a better job of teaching employees that it exists, and, how to properly apply it.

  10. A complete climate control apparatus? An oven without fire? Plastic silverware? Wireless, in-ear telephone? Closed-circuit television phones? I'd say it's equally astounding how much of the future did come to be! EDIT: Now what DIDN'T come to pass, unfortunately, is a house with that view of Sleeping Beauty Castle! I'll keep dreaming, though.

  11. After employee rides day and a few laps on The Beast I a pleased to report that the trims on The Beast are much more forgiving. Trim 1 is still the same but trim 2 is almost non existent and trim 3 has been cut back. Trim 4 is almost gone and you can't feel it at all unless you try. This gives the ride a good pop of airtime on the second hill and a much better paced ride after the shed and second lift. It make the ride feel more like it did with the skids than the last few years.

  12. The saga of the departure of Jack Falfas as the COO of Cedar Fair continues. The Court of Appeals for the sixth district has reversed the lower courts order and ordered Jack Falfas back to work. The Court reaffirmed the award and order of the binding arbitration panel which ordered Falfas reinstated to his Cedar Fair position. The Appeals Court also remanded to trial court the duty of setting the issue of the exact economic loss of wages, insurance, legal costs, reasonable costs, etc., suffered by Mr. Falfas as a result of his inappropriate termination. That action will then establish the

For those who don't know, Hong Kong Disneyland recently underwent a massive expansion to add three new lands that are original to the park, expanding outside the usual footprint of "Magic Kingdom" style parks to add Toy Story Playland, Grizzly Gulch, and Mystic Point. Mystic Point is still in soft-opening, but its highly-anticipated new ride Mystic Manor (a sort of spiritual take-off on the Haunted Mansion) opened the other day to cast members and Imagineers. It's absolutely stunning. It uses trackless, GPS-guided vehicles that can spin, back-up, and "dance" with other vehicles, taking differ

  14. Exactly, and I didn't realize you'd had that issue at KD as well. Okay, so you'll save $61.50, or potentially lose $240? No brainer... Even buying 1...save $20.50 or potentially lose $80.00. Still a no brainer... Some who like to gamble with fate would probably try it. I would not. Just saying, and with no disrespect intended.

  15. Universal suffers the same problems that Disney does when it comes to deteriorating attractions. Prior to Harry Potter's debut, many of the "islands" at IOA had faded paint schemes, malfunctioning and/or non-working effects, etc. Also, the last rides that were added to the park prior to Harry Potter were Flying Unicorn (now Hippogriff) and Storm Force Accelatron in 2000. As for the debate on budget cuts between D-Land and D-World, remember that D-World only put budget cuts on single attractions or themed lands...they never had budget cuts on an entire PARK. California Adventure is the grandad

  16. He said. And what if they HAVE? Or the park claims they have? Or for whatever reason won't honor the paperwork? Then what?

  17. You would be correct that would be next. I meant of course that under former management, the case would be appealed and appealed, all the way to the U. S. Supreme Court, without settlement.

  18. Unless it was purchased on line where one would have to go get their pass processed when they first attend the park. If he were to sell, say me, the pass he could just give me the papers, if he had purchased them online, and I could get my picture taken no problem. I assume...

  26. Looking at great pics of Disney never gets old...thanks. We are headed that way in July, wife and daughter are going to make a one day trip to IOA, while I stay at the rental in Melbourne Beach. I do not feel the need to spend $120+ to stand in the Harry Potter lines during the week of July 4th...

  28. And that would be a very long walk, with quite a bit of grade change. The land dips down pretty significantly back behind Adventure Express. Not saying it won`t ever happen, but there are certainly other areas where they can build some infill projects, with not as much infrastructure required.

  30. FunPerks was a nice concept, but I didn't really go enough/buy enough to reap the full benefits- I think I was at level 2. If they replaced it with a flat discount it would be easier for season pass holders and employees.

  34. Before I get into too much excessive detail, what are your ideas? I think they need to add a walk way starting from where TA use to be and connect it on the opposite side, in between the Firehawk and Dinosaur Alive. The add a Intamin Giga coaster or create a new type of roller coaster that is 500+ feet tall that is like Millennium Force where SOB use to stand. Then in between FOF and the walk way they should add the Antique Cars. The extra space beside the new giga should be left for a future ride or rides. Then they should make a deal with Intamin and tear down Vortex and build a Intamin coas

  36. Bummed? Yeah. Definitely made use of Fun Perks a ton last year. I guarantee that I spent an order of magnitude more money in the park last year than in any other year. I'm sure the park has its reasons for ditching the program. While I'm sad to see FP go, the reduced admission is a great gesture. I've already got plans to make use of it.

Trust me,if you spent alot (we did) ,it was well worth having funperks. We used different cards in the family for purchases and got several great deals, half off and free fastlane was the best. The system did have several flaws though.I kept purchasing on my card that had reached level 4 because I didnt know I maxed out my rewards! I could have used a kids card to get more perks! Nobody told me I maxed out my rewards? I also had a upgraded parking reward that didnt work when I tried to use it, the lady asked me if I had already used it! I just looked at her and said"forget it!". She stopped me an

  42. Honestly, Disney World isn't all that great - in my opinion. New Fantasyland, as GYK noted, has only one E-ticket ride, a restaurant, then some meet and greets. I compare Universal to Disney now; look at Universal. Transformers, Harry Potter Phase II, Springfield Expansion, new hotel, etc., etc., while Magic Kingdom has added one ride and a meet and greet, EPCOT has gotten nothing new in years, Hollywood Studios' most recent new ride is Toy Story Mania which came out several years ago, and Animal Kingdom is pretty much at a sit still right now too. Then, while Disney builds new rides, the ot
