The taking of pictures and video on all rides and attractions at Kings Island except for the K.I. & Miami Valley Railroad and Eiffel Tower is strictly prohibited and may be cause for ejection from the park with no refund issued. This information will be stated in the 2013 Park Guide & Map.12 points

This is a really easy question to answer. Unless you are a member of the media or park-approved shoot where the camera is mounted to the train while being supervised by the park - usually not during public operation, they are always going to say no. GoPros are considered loose articles just like a camera with a wrist strap is, therefore parks do not allow them. The list of parks that you can POV at is very, very small. As a ride host at Dollywood, I can tell you that we don't allow GoPros, and as a former ride associate at Kings Island, we definitely didn't allow them. I remember making someone take a chest-mounted camera off at The Beast. Electronics are not allowed...period. We even went as far as making people take head phones out/off and put them away. Holiday World will take it a step further. Once they see it, you WILL leave it in the station or get off the ride. They don't tolerate it at all. Half the time they won't let you have a cell phone in your pocket on the ride if they know it's there. No way would they let you have a camera outside of your pocket. Be safe and don't record POV's. All they do is cause problems or hit people in the face. "Oh, I won't drop it. I'm always careful," you say. Guess what, no one ever drops it on purpose. If you want a pov - you tube it. There are plenty of people that don't follow the rules out there as it is, and I hope they got ejected from the park.6 points

Paul??? Here is Gulliver's Rub-A-Dub as it appeared in the early 70's, before being revamped in 1978. There were several areas of this ride including The Flintstons, Yogi Bears Park, Top Cat City and a Haunted House section. If anyone has additional pictures of this ride, please post them!!! In the mean time, enjoy The Flintstones section: Yogi Bear:6 points

Not only did you steal my story, you didn't tell it right! Because, you have to realize, there was more to it than that. First, he brings up this girl that is CLEARLY under the height limit by several inches. Then when I ask him if he's doing a parent swap, he stares at me blankly, so I told him she was too short too ride. He stares at me blankly some more, so I lead her to the height scale. He proceeds to PICK HER UP so her head touches the bar. My turn to stare blankly at him and say "her feet have to be flat on the floor." When the bar was several inches above her head he just calmly shrugs and says "it's ok, I'm riding with her." Pause. Continued stare. "She has to be 48" to ride." That was when he then proceeded to ask if we had "a booster seat or something so she can ride." It took everything I had not to tell him to get the hell off my ride.5 points

So we can watch our own POV of I305 with our personal voices, instead of listening to Blobb Alvey yell "TWISTYYYYYYYYY" through the whole ride!!!5 points

I'm not sure how close this is to SoB's spot…but you can see how hilly it was during the time of LCS:4 points

What are husbands for if not to tell all of the wifie's stories wrong? Another thread about a Vortex ride-op claiming that WindSeeker was being removed should go here. I've also been told other rides are being removed...that we can still ride today. Don't you know? Vortex and Magnum are sinking!! So's Tennessee Tornado - spread that around for me. We need some amusing rumors down this way.4 points

Usually, with my husband (dare-to-fly), though if we're with friends I like to switch up riding partners so I can ride with everyone at some point.4 points

I'm curious to check out the topography of the entire area. I think I was always under the impression it was relatively flat, but from the photos it looks otherwise. I've never actually been to the park without S.O.B., so it will definitely be different.2 points

I have a sudden desire to ride Drop Tower to get a really good look at that area! It would be cool to get a sense of how a new coaster could fit on that land!2 points

Hey, if you wanna post gifs and memes with other high school kids, go to Reddit. if you wanna stay on the topic of "Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed," keep posting here.2 points

At 27 I still like to ride with my mom. She got me to ride coasters so there is a bit of fun involved with that. My wife is not a big coaster fan2 points

^ On a side note: the wild mouse is gone, too. It's at Six Flags New England with the world's longest coaster name ever. The Gravity Group was apparently willing to refurbish Mega Zeph, complete with Timberliners, as a part of a proposed SFNO/Jazzland renovation from a while ago. I wonder if something similar could be in the works for Twisted Twins.2 points

I like, in this picture, how the closest spike of WT fits into that huge corkscrew-type element and how that mirrors the other spike and the Giant Wheel. It's a cool symmetry.2 points

Totally agree. Also, what if someone is waiting in line for 2 hours, and someone just enters the line 2 minutes before the ride breaks down? Where do you judge where to stop handing out passes? I wish they would give some sort of time frame. I understand why they don't (when unforseen issues arise you have angry guest), but it would be helpful to know if it's going to take in the neighborhood of a half hour, or if it'd be closer to three. Considering that as soon as you give them a rough time, they come back ten minutes earlier, say it was three times as long as you said, and are complete jerks about the ride not being up when you said it would be. Apparently the guests expect you to have some crystal ball that tells exactly how long it will be. Especially about the whether - how long do you think it'll be. Ask mother nature, because I don't get paid to predict the weather, nor do I have the tools to do it anyway. Ahhhh!! This whole reason about not knowing is exactly the reason behind Dollywood's policy. They ask everyone in line to leave if it will be a while. That way there's no one waiting for a ride that will be down who knows how long, and no one constantly pestering about how long it will be. Not to mention, those who are there to fix the problem are not having to answer a bunch of questions, or listen to people that wonder if they know what they are doing.1 point

i see the point you move the falls, then the flume, white water canyon would be there next.1 point

Chang isn't there, neither is the freefall swing. Everything else is there. So far, we haven't gotten a clear picture how bad some of the rides are, or what shape they are in. The article this week said there were some surprises, as well as some let downs. If I had to guess at surprises, that is probably most of the water park is in decent shape. I mean, its meant for water, and I'm sure it has seen enough of it even when closed to keep things in decent shape. Most pumps can be cleaned up and made operable again which is good considering what some of those items cost. I suspect the bad relates to conditions of rides, most likely coasters, and even more specifically those that are made of wood. I suspect Thunder Run is worse than they originally thought. It probably needs new trains, a complete retracking, and possible repair of some of its supporting members. There was a broad statement this past week where they said it could take 150k or it could take 1m to make the ride work correctly again. They just did not know, and would not know until it was all inspected. They of course have some percentage set aside for contingencies or unexpected expenses. The only ride not expected to open in 2014, if all this goes through is Twisted Twins. It looks like it needs a lot of repairs. I think it needs a scrap heap. I saw it run one time, with only one train on each loop during one visit, and that was all. Its performance history has to be as bad as The Bat at Kings Island, or possibly worse.1 point

Yeah I also enjoy riding with strangers, I have quite a few memorable experiences with strangers. At Islands of Adventure, on the Dr. Doom ride I rode with several interesting people (we went on it quite a few times). We meet two irish people who had never been on a thrill ride ever then, some spanish people, some canadians. I always love to ride with strangers. assuming they're not crazy( I have had that happen before, but haven't we all). That's just a little odd.1 point

Maybe it's just me, but other members' posts like UncleHenry have really gotten on my nerves lately. Too many people are using their seniority as an excuse to bash on the community, and that's what I take issue with.1 point

It's 2012 and just under four more months until Kings Island opens its doors for its 40th season. Like last year's topic, each day I will try my best to post a "vintage" Kings Island photo from my massive collection of media I've gathered over the years through personal collections and online discoveries. You're likely to see some of your photos, so don't be surprised. Anything goes. http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=23316&hl=%2Bflashback+%2Bopening&fromsearch=1'>http://www.KICentral...ng&fromsearch=1 2011 Flashback Till Opening Topic^^1 point

I was also surprised to see Six Flags hosting such a vulgar talking band. For those that know me knows this does not offend me, but I was surprised at the amount of times I heard a certain F word being used in that short video. Six flags is not the right venue for that type of band IMO.1 point

^ an unfortunate given in tour times. Now that I've seen what led up to the incident, I'm much more supportive of their drastic measures. Things can go very wrong very quickly in rowdy situation like that. I've been at shows where the group mentality was very strong and everything got pretty out of control.1 point

I favor order over chaos (not taking any Chances here, Terpy). Still, perhaps in hindsight, if things were really that out-of-hand, cold water cannons would have been 1. more effective and 2. more appropriate, given the palpable naïveté of the formative mass. In my opinion (as one who once studied riot control), pepper spray is better employed as an assailant countermeasure, rather than as a means of subduing an emotionally charged segment of an otherwise amenable audience. Crowd control, however, is a spontaneous, unpredictable science, especially at concerts. I'd say, "Who knows", if it weren't for the inherent irony in that statement...1 point

This whole thing is one big PR disaster. The park wasn't prepared, yet they can't admit it and instead blame everyone else. Security should have been able to break up the fight. How can they be expected to protect park guests in an emergency if they can't break up a fight? Surely someone knew that fans could rush the stage. Why weren't they prepared for this? Why did the police need to use pepper spray? They're trained to handle people who are far more dangerous than wild teenagers. Assuming the band is telling the truth about the aftermath, the park only made things worse - telling the band that they're no longer welcome, while telling the fans that the band canceled the show? That just sends a message to other bands that they should not book concerts at the park. I feel sorry for SF's PR department. It's going to take them a while to recover from this mess...1 point
