That's what is is, I installed a cache plugin to help save server usage over the weekend that catches content to display it quicker and be easier on the server. I have just uninstalled it as I too use the front page to scan for new posts.5 points

Apparently you haven't ridden Phantom's Revenge. Neither the train modifications nor the ride experience are remotely Arrow-like.4 points

We try to forget about those. Hard to forget about them when they use them on Colossus every year at Haunt to run it backwards. I got the opportunity to ride in those trains during my visit to California back in October. I thought they were rather comfortable, and without a seatbelt was a plus. It was rather funny that they still had the name "Psyclone" written on the side of the train as well. Terpy, since you liked those trains as well as Morgan trains, we obviously have very similar taste. I love the Morgan trains.3 points

Hollywood's opened nearly a month in advance if I remember correctly... At least a few weeks. You just may find yourself on it! And it's an incredible ride, so you'll love it!3 points

Those trains have leg restrains. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come.3 points

And I love the Morgan steel coaster trains a la Steel Force, Mamba, etc.3 points

So what type of leg restraints are on Phantom's Revenge at Kennywood, since Arrow built the original coaster and Morgan modified it? Terp, who likes to ask questions2 points

May 5th, 2012...and that was my ONE trip to Kings Island last year...we can't afford to get there too often, as my all-time record for KI visits in a single season is...2 (this happened in 2010). Need...rollercoasters...soon...WINTER...MUST...DIE...RAGH!!!2 points

True but I'm sure B&M could make trains with guide wheels on the inside if the park really wanted them. *cough* Magnum *cough* The day they put new trains on Magnum is the day I stop giving Cedar Fair my money!2 points

Maybe he's saying it's because the new trains are the open-air style like DB? Both Arrow and Morgan trains would be fairly similar.1 point

Last year we had the warm 80 degree days for most of March and early April. I'm thinking this year since we have had such a cold March, that come Opening Day we will get to enjoy a nice sunny 70 degree day. A guy can dream right??1 point

The Racer and Diamondback don't have leg restraints. Well, what I mean is the lap bar, it just hurts on the second air-time. Especially when the lap bar doesn't go all the way down to your legs. You go over that first hill and feel like your going to fly out of that seat then the bar smashes into your leg. ouch. As I've grown more its not as bad.... but along with BB1 it just hurts, but its defiantly worth it lol.1 point

I have not been to Kings Island to partake in the rides since 2006, but was last at the park October 28th of 2012, my last day of work there. I have not been able to ride due to spinal cord issues that had required two surgeries. I hope to take in rides that are safe for me this summer.1 point

Restraints are not fun on The Racers and BLSC period, the D-Back not so much, but for those, it doesn't feel fun.1 point

I'm not surprised that the new trains have leg restraints. DB, Behemoth, Leviathan, Apollo's Chariot, etc, might not have leg restraints because those are the coasters that B&M built so they might not need them. Leg restraints might be a requirement since Steel Dragon is receiving new, open air trains because it is an old type of coaster that was not built by B&M. My two cents1 point

The average high on April 27th in this neck of the woods is roughly 70 degrees. After the mild winter we had last year, I was expecting a poor one this time around, and sure enough we've seen one. I'm not sure there has been more than 3-5 days w/n the month of March that have been above the historically average daily high.1 point

It has been speculated elsewhere that the seatbelts and leg restraints were added at the park and not by B&M.1 point

Thanks. That same plug in was apparently causing the site to be very slow to respond at times, as well. Things are MUCH better now.1 point

My idea: The station and turn around to the lift will be where TA was. You board the train that is facing the direction of Invertigo. Once dispatched, the train makes a 180 degree turn toward the lift as Leviathan does. Once the train crests the lift, it could go anywhere from there. It could go out around Flight Deck, or out toward FOF (being the most logical direction.)1 point

I really want to know what changed at B&M in the past two or three years. Out of nowhere, they're doing all the things you'd never expect out of B&M. I like the look of the Steel Dragon trains, but I don't expect to see them on many (if any) major new B&M installations. It cuts down on capacity, which is part of the draw of B&M rides. I do wonder if any other Morgan or Arrow megacoasters will receive them. Gotta admit that I don't know if Magnum would be the same for me without the hard lapbar. (Yeah, I'm weird. ) Until I rode Nitro last summer, I thought there would be a drastic difference between the staggered trains and the 4-across. Frankly, I didn't notice that much of a difference, except that you're freer on one (or both) sides to swing your arms and legs on the staggered trains. I don't mean that cynically; it just wasn't as different as I'd expected. In other words, I don't have that much of a preference.1 point

The Save My Park Group said that there was supposed to be some sort of new content last week but nothing was ever posted. Things have been very active on the inside of the park. Just last week I believe the waterpark was being expected (from my viewing from outside the park). Also security is on deck right now. At night every single light is turned on inside the park. From the stations lights on Twisted Twins, all the way to the Stadium behind T2. The lights being on gives a feeling to me that the park was never closed. Also, be prepared for the news on the tax incentives in two to three weeks.1 point

I really miss the weather from last year. It was 80 degrees here on this day a year ago... Spring really needs to kick in, it's starting to bum me out!1 point

10/20 at 1 in the morning, after an epic ride on Diamondback, in 40 degree weather. Real Nice Breeze.1 point

According to RCT3, it's two corkscrews. Actually, four "large corkscrews" to be exact.1 point

This has been brought up in the past, and I believe the park counts the two corkscrews as one.1 point

Cold and windy closing day in 2012. This about the same weather as opening day 2012 now that I think about it! I am hoping for a sunny warm opening day in 2013!1 point

^ People still use mouse pads? Good to hear that they're going to be done "right". Perhaps throw them in with several loads of laundry as well; washing machines are often unkind to printed logos.1 point

Interesting considering they don't seem to know what they'll be hiring for. Do they just need lifeguards? We'll see toward the end of the year won't we? I think we'll see towards the end of April when the 90 day back out period ends. Either Hart will have the financing or he won't. I would assume in order to secure that financing he has to give specific details to anyone who's going to give him money. I figure, if that happens, we'll finally have some details on exactly what is opening and when.1 point

Sorry, been a bit busy with work. Shirts will definitely not be dark colored. I will look into a light grey, but only if we go with silk screening. If we try and print on colors that are not white, we will run into coloration problems. I'm doing a test print tomorrow with several different materials. I'm going to then beat the hell out of each shirt to see if any of the materials are worth using. I'll keep you all in the loop as things progress. In the mean time, is anyone interested in a sticker for your car, laptop, etc? Thinking about printing some decals of just the logo (Like I have for my profile picture), and a bumper sticker.1 point
