Holding on to my daughter as the horse went up and down on the carousel when she was young. Laughing as my wife screemed and squeezed my arm as we went down the first hill on Bavarian Beetle. Listening to my Mom giggle over every bump on the Tumble Bug as she slid into me.6 points

I'll vote for longer cycles! Probably won't ride as often, but when I do, it'll be more enjoyable! EDIT: Didn't realize.. but apparently, I'm extremely excited about my statements..6 points

What's odd about this is this. Cedar Point is notorious for short--very short--flat ride cycles, in order to maximize capacity. Now, maXair has a longer cycle...at Cedar Point. I'm not sure exactly why that ride can accommodate a longer cycle than Kings Island's now does, but it does. And, as for me, a ride worth riding is worth a full cycle (or more. Once rode the Coney Island of Brooklyn Breakdance at full tilt for 20 minutes and the bumper cars at Hillcrest for nearly an hour--both continuously). A short cycle on Delirium definitely affects the ride--and the ride experience. Less stress for the ride--less experience both quantitatively and qualitatively for the riders. I, for one, would like to wait for the real thing--the experience as the ride manufacturer originally intended. I feel as strongly about shortened and watered down flat ride cycles as many do about trim brakes, only more so. You see, I have ridden Whips, Eli wheels, Tilt-A-Whirls, Tumble Bugs, Scramblers, Dodgems and many others...as they once ran and as most do now. Compare Conneaut Lake's Tumble Bug to Kennywood's Turtle. One is a supreme ride experience. The other mosies along the track serenely, a sad shadow of what it once was.6 points

Because KI has way too many rides with low height requirements that generations can happily ride together. Riiiight.5 points

It wasn't always like that. Only when the Cedar Fair people who know how to run a park took over from Paramount Parks... There was a time when Kings Island had great flats with long cycles. (Rotor, Bayern Curve, Halleys Comet, der Spinnin Keggers, Enchanted Voyage, Tumble Bug, Zodiac, Ferris Wheel, Sky Ride, and on and on).4 points

Also with the loop pictures none of those are taken from below as with Banshee, perspective makes a big difference.3 points

^ With iOS, you can use another (Safari-based) browser from the App Store to view the site in desktop mode. But, you're right, treating mobile websites as second-class citizens is completely unacceptable in 2013. Here are the numbers from the blog post: Kings Island's 2013 rider counts have yet to be released, but here's last year's for comparison. CP's numbers are probably much more accurate than KI's, considering that CP uses turnstiles at nearly every ride. (Though some people do spin those for fun.)3 points

Only if it is going to be replaced with another one! We need more flat rides, not less. I wouldn't replace it, but Backlot Stunt Coaster could use an update.3 points

http://www.springerfuneralhome.com/memsol.cgi?user_id=1158502 There are a few posts on the Indiana Beach History page on Facebook. A few have posted some great pictures of him and a few of the rides! https://www.facebook.com/groups/207463012627176/ Apparently no one has told the Monticello Herald Journal because they have nothing about it on their website.2 points

Why do people want to remove rides, just because you don't like it doesn't mean tear it down... Let the park have variety, experiences, and thrills of all sorts... This is the same mentality that's bringing us Banshee next year..If it's a good ride, and has a good experience, it's meant to be here. Each ride at KI has that same mentality, which is why they are still here2 points

I posted two contrasting videos above here proving the different cycles used on Delirium btw. Whether he was in different seats or not, He had different experiences.2 points

Two words, fire accesso. The mobile sites are junk, and I cant renew my season passes without using a desktop(which is also an accesso product).2 points

I still would like to know the reason the base of the loop is so far apart. It does not make sense. My first thought was clearance, but that is not the issue. Otherwise all the ther inverted coasters would be wide like that. Even on B&M's most recent inverted coaster, OzIris, the base of the loop is not wide. It is not because of the lift. Other B&M coasters loop around the lift and the are not that far apart. Perhaps Don can answer why the base of the loop is so wide.2 points

Speaking (or should I say typing?) of 'short-very short- flat ride cycles,' is there a reason for the extreme difference in ride times on WindSeeker? I cannot vouch for the 2013 season, but last summer half the times I rode it the gondola would start its decent as soon as it reached maximum height and other times you would get to go the full cycle. What was up with that? It does seem to have a shorter cycle than it did in 2011. With 64 people per ride, you'd think the hourly capacity would be high enough to get CF to allow a full cycle. This past season I had an experience where the gondola got to the top, spun twice, then began its decent. I found it quite upsetting, since WS is my favorite ride. As mentioned by McSalsa, I must also say that my favorite ride element at Kings Island is The Beast's final helix through the tunnel. There has never been an element of a roller coaster that has thrilled me more than the final helix of The Beast, there's just something about it that I have always loved.2 points

The Beast's epic final helix. Especially at Night... (You didn't say it had to be an inversion) Also, I think this might belong in polls...not 100% sure though.2 points

I stopped at an old friends house after picking up my daughter from school and his teenage daughter was telling me how she is going to CP with her friend this weekend and how nervous they are about riding the huge coasters. I told her that she should start out on Maverick because its not very tall. She took the bait! After she leaves the room my buddy says, " One crazy ride I'm guessing"? I reply, "Yep"!2 points
