My Wish List (Any or all or these would be great!) Whip Tilt-a-Whirl Ferris Wheel Air Race Spinning Keggers Rodeo Wipeout/ Trabant Paratrooper *There are so many great, obscure flats out there.9 points

That I actually sort of wouldn't mind since it was just that...a failure....add Windjammer, Hard Rock Park (?), SFWoA, and others to that list. Would Vertigo at CP be considered a failure? I actually remember that ride quite well how it disappeared as quickly as it came, lol. As much as I hated the ride experience, a part of me still misses seeing Sonny in the skyline. I was working at the park for nearly the entire duration of that ride's existence (rides and park services) so I seen it open and close a lot during those years. It did offer some of the more interesting night rides I experienced on a coaster. Actually what I do miss most of it is that dang lift chain...from the midway I actually liked it, on the ride itself though....my fingers went straight into my ears.6 points

This girl is awesome. She should have first front seat ride Opening Day April 18.6 points

That's like saying Kings Island almost always doesn't have nightly firework displays. When the park is open, the "eternal flame" is seldom burning. Like Son of Beast itself, it started shining brightly, then went dim, and, probably like the ride, will sit unused for years then disappear.6 points

Wait, I'm confused... How do you know there are better options than Scrambler if you haven't ridden it?6 points

Most important to me are negative g's and pacing. Pacing is maintaining a sense of speed and excitement throughout the entirety of the ride. I find negative g's to be the most thrilling element of most roller coasters. Pacing is important to me because I don't like it when a ride feels like it is petering out towards the end. Capacity is important also, but I would be happy to wait for an exceptional ride. P.S. It seems the gears of a five year plan are turning.5 points

I agree with you 100%, she should ride front seat opening day, and many times after that. I absolutley love her spirit.5 points

SRR, Monster, and Scrambler are rides that I tolerate only because I love my niece and nephews. They make me nauseous. But I want them to try all rides and not be "afraid" to ride anything so I ride when I'm with them. They get such strange joy out of my trying to keep it together. On Scrambler, part of their joy is scooting a bit to the left so they get "flung" to the right against me. Viking Fury is great as we can all ride together. The other flats are fine and I tend to ride them with the older boys. The niece was a bit too small this past season and I think needed some more time to ramp up the courage to ride. An adult sized Whip ride at KI would be awesome. I remember loving the little version as a child and the little ones love it as well now. I know they are going to be disappointed once they are too tall to ride.5 points

I, personally, have always been jealous of the Linus' Beetle Bugs riders; because I have always been such a fan of whip-type rides and wild cat coasters. I think a whip ride would fit quite well in Coney Mall with the other flats.5 points

That's okay Terpy. I love dive coasters, some think they are boring. I really love the airtime on Diamondback but my buddy says it might be the most boring B&M he has ever ridden. That's what I like about coasters, they can produce completely different experiences from two people.4 points

This coaster just never lets up until it gets to the brake run!4 points

Safe, reliable operation at a cost effective price + long term guest appeal. Terp,...speaking like a consultant (imagine that).4 points

Mine was more as a reason why people dont look things up. Seas should do everything it can to self promote and counter-act the negativity. I said from the beginning that the way this was handled was a huge mistake. Immediately following the Blackfish Premier or before it, Seas should have had multiple press conferences about what it is doing and how it is doing it the right way. Talk about how things are going to change, talk about the bigger tanks, etc. By getting out infront of the media mass hysteria Seas could have made the Blackfish documentary look tame/poor. Have the President/CEO/COO of Seas standing next to a Penguin answering questions. Have him sitting on the edge of a pool with the whales in the background. Heck show the footage of them rescuing whales from shoddy companies. Instead we got press releases.....4 points

Hello fellow KIC'ers!! We may get a lot of snow here in the next day or so but next week, temperatures will be in the 50's! You know what that means... Opening Day is getting closer and closer everyday!! To be exact, we are down to 44 days until the big day!! Stay safe everyone! Edit made by me. SR&R is my favorite flat in Coney Mall and it's the only "spinny" ride my mom will ride when she comes to the park with me.4 points

^ Rivertown needs a good flat ride back there. One would have been cool where the new Haunt building went.4 points

@ DontWantToWait42mor0- Wait...so you'll ride Monster and SR&R, but you won't ride Scrambler? You do realize all 3 have the same counter-spinning motions to them? Its just SR&R and Monster have elevation changes and Scrambler doesn't. Also, that's kind of a mean statement you have there about people who enjoy Scrambler. Just sayin'. I do agree Kings Island needs more smaller flats. Heck, intermediate rides in general. Woodstock Gliders is a start. I think some of that empty space between Backlot and Diamondback has potential.4 points

Yeah. Don't feel sorry for anyone that enjoys something you don't. Feeling slightly Pretentious today or is it every day?4 points

To each their own, no need to feel sorry for me while I ride it, I am having plenty of fun.4 points

YOU FORGOT WindSeeker. And I actually like all of them I have ridden. Dodgem is one of the few Kings Island rides I still have yet to ride, however, so that one I cannot make comment on.4 points

^^ Of course, that goes without saying. Safety should always be the top priority in any product.3 points

All the above in my opinion. The right mix of all those things listed, and more, make rides enjoyable.3 points

Safety mechanisms. Yup, all those safety mechanisms that make the coasters the thrill machines they are.3 points

I can ride Monster, but I can't at the same time. I love to ride it, but it also hurts to ride it with my height and my legs get crunched up, so I ride it maybe once a year, if that. I enjoy the flat rides in Coney Mall overall but I think there should be more throughout the park (with the exception of Planet Snoopy).3 points

I wish I was able to take advantage of more of the flat rides, but I'm the type of person that cannot handle anything that spins. A few years ago I thought I'd be brave and attempt to ride Monster again, but that was a huge mistake. I think our seat spun the most out of all the seats. From the time the ride started, until it stopped, we did nothing but spin. It was horrible. Now, you can drop me a million feet straight down and it won't phase me at all, but spin me in a circle and I'll probably puke. Not sure what it is, I think it's genetic. My grandpa was a paratrooper in World War 2. He could jump out of airplanes, but riding a carousel made him sick. I'm very much the same way. It sucks, but I'm glad I can at least ride coasters as I prefer them to flats anyway.3 points

It is the responsibility of the business to make sure consumers hear the right information and facts about their business. Don't be lazy and expect people to find the truth. Sticking your head in the sand and hoping the storm blows over is the wrong move every time. Sea World must pay for these mistakes, but having numerous customer service issues within the parks now and the automatic charging on folks credit cards shenanigans is making it easier for people to believe Blackfish.3 points
-
I believe the problem here is actually New Jersey's ride inspectors not wanting the train passing overhead while people are on Zumanjaro. I could be wrong, but I think that is what I heard. The rides themselves are capable of running simultaneously, they are just not allowed to. Anyone able to confirm this?3 points

The Park wasn't sold to Paramount until August of 1992. Oops! Thanks for pointing that out! Usually I'm putting this stuff together at 2 AM and not all cylinders are firing. You wouldn't happen to have those family photographs available would you? I would LOVE to see them.3 points

The Coney Mall Monster Crew didn't stack even once last summer. They rocked! That's how they roll!3 points

What would you say is the oversized Diamondback? Leviathan is far different than Behemoth, Diamondback, or Intimidator. Looking at Fury 325, this will be far different as well. Only coaster I prefer over Leviathan is Bizarro (SFNE) which is a Intamin hyper.3 points

According to the article, Mr. Herman didn't attempt to Cancel his. He just didn't read the fine print and got mad when they wouldn't refund him after he went 8 months without keeping tabs on his credit card account. As for my 12 year old, she said that while she has not tried to cancel a SeaWorld pass she knows to keep a closer eye on her bank/credit card statements than the man in the "Lawsuit". People will sue no matter what. We live in a sue happy country3 points

Just try not to stack as much as last years crew did. Good luck working a three train monster! Have fun!3 points

This topic emphasizes the fact of how much Kings Island needs a couple full sized flats. Don't forget Viking Fury in Oktoberfest! ^3 points

There needs to be more flats in Coney and throughout the park. Flats need not be giant to be fun. I like the Flying Coaster at Kennywood.3 points

I have no dog in this fight, couldn't care less. From a park stand point, sure recognize the ride etc. From a media side and PR side, what is the point of this ride as a doc? What story does it have to tell? Does it make people want to come to KI more? The ride only pushed the boundaries of height and speed. Again, there are better coasters in this state, heck in the park, that would be better as a documentary. *** cantwaitfortomorrow if you want a doc, go and make one. Independent film makers can approach a company with an idea. Story board. Request media interviews. Track down former workers, etc.3 points
