  1. i agree, you would think they would update the construction photos on their webpage at LEAST once every 2 weeks tops. . They are adding pics to Twitter the most. It makes the most sense, most people are on social media sites daily. Bigger audience to hit. You can follow them here: https://twitter.com/KingsIslandPR Track by the train shead. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CzC0-kdXAAAcF7B.jpg:large

  2. I hate to put it his way, but unless the interior reflects those extents of theming done to the outside, its kinda out of place.

  3. You know what?? They can build 50 of the VR style rides, maybe that will attract the "cant get their heads out of their phones for 20 seconds" age demographic and will reduce the wait times on real rides for people like me! Im 110% for that.

  4. Interesting article. Anyone think the land that was once the old Kings Island Inn will become a Cedar Fair- owned sports center?

  5. i agree, you would think they would update the construction photos on their webpage at LEAST once every 2 weeks tops. I posted a link to a new Twitter image directly above this post. They also posted it on Instagram and have been posting updates on a fair basis via social media, as IndyGuy4KI says. I'd guess other than a few enthusiasts, the actual website doesn't get many views. I myself have only got on once or twice since the announcement and it was only to look at renderings. I rely on the webcams and social media for construction.

  10. I am sure he said a lot more but the bolded parts are unsettling to me. I have more than enough video game technology in my house. Yes I go to parks for fun, but not to get a score. I don't see the magic in that.

  11. That looks sweet! I'm guessing they dropped the flags and everything because the park realizes the theme has slowly died, and they have no intention of reviving it

  12. In one way I'm a little resistant to the name Demon Drop (it having been a very different kind of ride), but then again anything would be better than the hyper-generic name Drop Tower.

  13. If we're going to call it Mr T, does it pity the fool? silver2005, asking questions.

  14. I found the website of Place Workshop, the company that is responsible for making the ride plazas like Banshee, Fury 325, and Gatekeeper ass well as Carowinds and Cedar Point's entry plaza as well as the central plaza in Action Zone. I hope that we see them return for Mr. T http://www.placeworkshop.com/projects/

  16. i keep hoping they will post several pics at a time of the different areas of construction. i.e. the turnaround, the crossover at the train tracks, the station and the approach to it....and especially the bridge over the lake. I mean i'm happy to see anything but just one pic at a time every few days just isnt enough for me. LOL

  17. ^ Assuming CF really does operate under the 5 year plan model we might be seeing those changes come to light very soon.

  18. ^ Cable snapping sound effects would be more effective.

  19. If Drop Tower were to be renamed Demon Drop I would love to have it roar or shriek before it drops sorta like Banshee.

  20. Same here. I think I'll be riding WWC more now with Mystic Timbers being there. Plus, we'll get amazing views of it in the queue line as well.

  21. Amusement Dark IS being used. That's what Cedar Fair has been referring to its recent dark ride projects as--it's all part of the Amusement Dark initiative. EDIT: Sorry, the forum software (or my phone?) was glitching on me and wouldn't let me keep typing--had to download Tapatalk to edit this. What I meant to add: If you look at some of Cedar Fair's recent internal stuff, like their quarterly reports, you'll find Amusement Dark referenced there.

  22. Agreed! I can jump into the Kalos and Alola regions (Pokemon) anytime (and anywhere) I want, however, there is only one place I can ride The Beast. What I'm trying to say is, I can be on my phone (or 3DS) anywhere, but I can only experince awesome rides at a place like Kings Island.

  23. I am anxious to see how close we will get to the track while riding the train next season! Especially by the train houses and WWC.

  24. Sorry about that! I was going to put pics from that day and I've gotta find time to do it right, to where it will show the pic.

I don't see the magic in that. I am not a big fan either, but we have to understand that the target audience seems to have taken to the VR, especially at SIX. CF will need to keep up as well.

  26. thankfully they are lowering the price to $99 this year... still not something i'm interested in joining, it would be cool if they renamed the club "Cedar Fair Ride Warriors" and include every Cedar Fair park somehow.. Then I might be interested in joining

  27. After Triotech unveiled their flying theater attraction, I actually thought it could be a viable install for the old Crypt/TR:RT building. Would probably fit well with the stacked version with having the height of the building but not a ton of space for a tracked ride without having the building expanded or it dipping in and out of it.

  28. . Could even toss all those Splintercat fans a bone and maybe they would leave the coasters alone? What is up with the name "Action Zone" anyway? I assume it is a leftover from the Paramount days as in "lights, camera, action!"? But what does it mean now? This is where the "Action" is and all the other areas are slow and boring? This is where you go to get some action? I don't get it.

  29. Instead of a giga I'd personally like to see a new Mack Megacoaster, Helix and Blue Fire look fantastic along with some low to the ground Maverick like transitions would be a great fit!

  30. It would be amazimg if Drop Tower was rethemed, that entire area would make a great Halloween area with a year round haunt possibly!

  31. I like the idea of Drop Tower being renamed to Demon Drop, brings back some more old names like The Bat, and some more of the Supernatural theme names to Action Zone. Something occupying the old SOB station would also boost a little more traffic to The Bat area, but i don't know how likely it is with all the coater traffic in the area.

  32. What they got right was not being afraid to go big. I think a good portion of Kings Island's success today is a residual effect of the grand Paramount's Kings Island days.

  33. Thanks for all the positive feedback! Here is a gift for all of you fellow fans of the Kings Island coaster line. The "more-complete" version (although I thought about it, I didn't have room for the "Jedi Force Ghosts" of King Cobra, Son of Beast, Bavarian Beetle, etc. ) Enjoy!
