Another accolade for Good Gravy! at Holiday World with its first-place ranking.3 points

I for one really enjoy Skyflyer. Its the biggest thrill in the park to me. I always do it on Pride Night as is tradition. And I might do it if I catch it on the cheap on other visits. I will be sad if they take it down, but I wouldn't be surprised.3 points

It's an interesting thought and something that makes alot of sense from a corporate standpoint. I personally would not want to see Banshee themed as it's pretty well themed already with the graveyard and everything. I could see repainting Delirium to joker colors or Wonder woman colors. If this is the route they go, I envision a new standout coaster in the Invertigo/Congo, Timberwolf plot and a new flat or two in the Drop Tower/extreme sky flyer plots. If The Bat bites the dust, I don't think we will see it replaced. It is too far removed from the rest of the park to be high on the priority list for replacement keeping in mind we have prime real estate at the end of Coney Mall that is vacant as well. If The Bat goes, the path will terminate at the bathrooms down past Banshee. Now I am not saying I want 4-5 ride closures in Action Zone or that I want a DC Universe retheme. I'd prefer something a little more original and to see investment in the aging attractions however that is not the current climate of the chain and if I could settle for a new standout coaster and two unique flats, I'd trade Invertigo, Congo, Drop Tower, and Sky flyer for that .... The Bat hardly counts as an exchange because I think there's a less then 10% chance it gets replaced because of the investment cost and the poor location in relation to the rest of Action Zone.3 points

For what it is worth, the Chattanooga area has already got a piece of Coney Island history. The Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park in nearby Rossville GA, has one of the original Coney Island and Lake Como railroad trains. Engine #35.2 points

I think with the park's family focus, it makes sense to rebrand not just to D.C. in general, but Teen Titans "Jump City". Arguably their most popular IP with kids and teens from both the original show as well as "Teen Titans Go!". Assuming we're not losing any of these rides yet, here's how I'd split it: Banshee → Raven The Bat → Robin Drop Tower → Cyborg Invertigo → Starfire Congo Falls → Beast Boy Delirium → Slade Even if done in the expected "Six Flags way", it would at least allow it to stand out against the other parks with D.C. themed areas.2 points

Losing WindSeeker could also open up opportunities with the Action Theater area again. As others have mentioned, that area can be a bottleneck nightmare and adding something else back there could make it worse. Without WindSeeker, there may be bigger and better options. Skyflyer could’ve been removed years ago.2 points

I'm back with another google map paint concept. This time it is more of an area overlay idea. What if the new "family thrill attraction" for 2026 is a full renovation of Coney Mall with 3 new Zamperla rides, a new quick service restaurant (would serve classing fair/carnival fried food), and a KI/Coney Island History museum. The rides I have chosen would pay homage to past KI/Coney attractions. With this concept, Monster would be retired and be replaced with a NebulaZ named Haley's Comet to pay homage to that past attraction. The next ride would be an Air Race that pays homage to Flight Commander which would be located to the right of the Jukebox Diner in what is currently a decent sized empty field. Then finally, the centerpiece of this new area would be a Zamperla family thrill launch coaster named Shooting Star. I know, a family thrill coaster is not what I'd want as a Vortex replacement, but just like with Cedar Point and Wild Mouse replacing Wicked Twister technically, if it's part of a whole area refresh, I would gladly accept it.2 points

Well, they finished in the top 10. There’s that. https://www.cincinnati.com/story/entertainment/2025/01/02/kings-island-snoopy-soap-box-racers-best-new-attraction-usa-today-10best/77350366007/?utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook#4qgwcvrapiuhgpa8dj9l8hr5jdp1agy1 point

I personally believe Good Gravy earned it. It has absolutely amazing theming and a pleasant, smooth experience that can be enjoyed by basically anyone. I also rank Good Gravy slightly higher than Soap Box. Good Gravy was an awesome addition to Holiday World.1 point

A Gotham City retheme of AZ could be incredible… if done correctly. Though, with the current direction of things I’m not confident that would be the case.1 point

I'm curious what makes D.C. garbage compared to other IPs the park has held in the past. We've seen both extremes in terms of quality under Paramount and Cedar Fair's leadership. At the time Tomb Raider: The Ride was announced in 2001, CoreDesign had pumped out 5 Tomb Raider games in a 4 year span, the Angelina Jolie Tomb Raider movie had released to critical failure, and fans were unhappy such a large investment was going to a dying IP. TR;TR went on to become one of KI's most ambitious and critically acclaimed experiences upon opening. I hope we see the beginning of more ambitious experiences like that again, even if it is "DC garbage".1 point

Yeah, I was very sad to see the train was not on the track. Maybe it was not certified yet for the new year.1 point

I wonder if the lack of communication from those parks about the ride removals has to do with the synergies of assigning multiple parks to one person? WoF hasn’t had any activity on its X page since November: https://x.com/worldsoffun1 point

But will those three actually do racing? Well SSBR (should be) both sides of Racer on any given day (maybe?) and both sides of River Racers (maybe?).1 point

I can definitely see Skyflyer getting removed with the ones at Wonderland and CP being taken out. As far as WindSeeker, I always thought it was in a weird bottlenecked location. I would be surprised if it was taken out but it is closed quite a bit (anytime it finds wind lol).1 point

Interesting move. I definitely see Action Zone getting a revamp over the next few years with alot of ride removals on the horizon. I honestly never gave WindSeeker much thought as to potentially removing that. I don't love WindSeeker but I would miss it as the end of Coney Mall already suffered from Vortex being gone.1 point

Something I noticed yesterday while visiting KI on NYE. I use Queue Times versus the Park's app for ride wait times and noticed both WindSeeker and Xtreme Skyflyer were removed from the lineup: Kings Island live queue times Removing Xtreme Skyflyer would make sense considering they have been removing skycoasters chainwide. and WindSeeker's removal would coincide with all the survey markers seen in Coney Mall. Leading to its replacement being the announced 2026 family thrill attraction.1 point

The successful run at Kings Island will likely see Gazillion Bubbles at multiple Six Flags parks in the coming years. Judging by a dancer audition post at the time it appeared that the Brad Ross show almost came to Kings Island in 2020 before everyone's plans for that summer changed.1 point

For Entertainment, I personally would love to see Timberwolf utilized more. If they get good acts in, KI can definitely profit and it would be an easy advertisement campaign to drum up more business.1 point

I believe KD is getting Gazillion bubbles as it sorta was teased in their 50th anniversary video awhile back. It could also come to KI too as the show is put on by more than one person. If bubbles doesn't return, I'd like to see Brad Ross come. He just did 2 seasons at Carowinds and I believe he was very well received.1 point
-
The 2025 summer show lineup will likely include the return of Country Crossroads and Trailblazers Xtreme, along with potentially a longer run of Gazillion Bubbles at the KI Theater. Presumably the Bandstand will see a new production with RetroSpect having finished the usual two-season run.1 point

Hoping for a good season. I'd like to see some updates to the park app this season as well as ironing out any post merger issues. River racers will be good for the water park visitors of which I am not one. I'm thinking we will see signs of the family thrill attraction with an announcement later in the season. Also, if they are planning any ride/coaster removals at the end of next season I hope they take final rides and fans feelings/memories into consideration. Vortex and Firehawk both had good send-offs and we understand that certain circumstances result in ride removals (few coasters last forever) but I would be thankful for a last chance at riding anything that is potentially being removed1 point

What colors would you all like to see a Vortex replacement (or other new coasters at KI) in? The blue and orange were very pleasing to look at and I wouldn't mind seeing them return in a modified scheme/palette. Personally I am not a fan of gray/white track support colorings, but do think they can work in certain circumstances.1 point

Today was the last day of operation for Lookout Lagoon, which is being replaced by Splash River Junction. It opened in 1997 under the name Buccaneer Island. The name was changed in 2004 to Kangaroo Lagoon, and then to Lookout Lagoon in 2012. Probably the most notable thing about it is that it was featured in a couple shots of the Ghost Hunters episode that was filmed in November 2011. I took these photos a few weeks ago, on August 5. It obviously wasn't the flashiest or biggest thing in the waterpark, but I'm surprised the park didn't put out any notices or anything about it closing today.1 point
