  1. I believe in the recent quarterly earnings call, guest throughput was mentioned as a huge priority to the new CEO John Reilly. Whether or not those with more power (those on the board) agree with him remain to be seen. Hopefully that leads to better staffing on the rides as well as restaurants and shops. As a former op, I will say having rides at bare minimum was legit torture especially rides that are technically supposed to be 2 op rides, but are able to operate as a single op (ie Dodgem and Linus Launcher) or the triple op rides that can be operated in dual (Viking Fury and Monster) or Antique Cars that can get by with just one person at dispatch (the person who gets on the cars and brings them back into the station and loads the oncoming riders).

  2. At a minimum they will get long slow painful deaths which is better for us than just shutting them down now. Best case scenario they actually perform better

  3. Pretty embarrassing, honestly.

  5. Interesting take Don. I'm just curious if you really think the parks have a bright future when the other parks owned by EPR are not in great shape...

  6. #3! YEAAAAAAHHHHH! This rocks! I was just thinking not long ago just how huge Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare could be and that it could be the greatest dark ride in the country outside of Disney and Universal. I am SO excited for it!

  7. It has more to do with Six Flags has said Texas is an undersaturated market, so they are spending big there. Now what happens if/when that doesn't turn into the numbers they expect to see...

  8. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has taken another major step in reshaping its business strategy. The company announced it has entered into definitive agreements to sell seven parks to EPR Properties for $331 million in cash, a move that reflects a broader effort to streamline operations, strengthen its balance sheet, and focus resources on its highest-performing destinations. https://themeparksbydon.com/six-flags-selling-seven-parks-portfolio-strategy/

  9. It looks great, but.... 1. That would be a nightmare for traffic on KI drive. Would probably want to route resort traffic on Western Row Road. 2. Would need more parking. 3. I'm sure Mason would want a much further setback. Your ideas have come such a long way over the years. I know you used AI, but I think this one is the best yet. But I have to ask: will it include a saloon or bar?

  10. Just playing around with AI a little lol tbh I actually kinda like how this turned out! If this actually came to reality, it would give Great Wolf some legit competition!

  12. My brother in Christ, I’ve out drank you in the park 10-1, I guarantee it. The difference between you and actual adults is the fact that I’m not a sloppy kid who can’t hold their liquor. Brandy? Are you the daughter of a wealthy plantation owner in the 1800’s? Cheers!

  13. If that's true, which they're refusing to confirm or deny, maybe they should say that instead of "we can change whatever we want whenever we want, but here's $10 to go away".

  14. I was super surprised to see the combined attendance for these parks it is literally nothing at all. 4.5 million is a decent amount, but I would be more interested in what there margins look like. If they have razor thin margins already I doubt we will see much investment in the parks. Hopefully, these parks will be well taken care of. I like to think that this fate is better then just shutting down these parks.

  15. I don't think it was actually a jail. I think it was just the police room or whatever. They just didn't think we could safely be in the park any longer and had to stay in that room until our friends showed up. We had apparently caused a scene in line for I believe the Terror Trail or something? And we saw the lights flashing blue and red when we got out of the house. We knew it was for us. They stopped me and my friend, and asked us if we had been drinking and how much. I stated, "Only whatever we have been served here tonight! That's all!" Trying to insinuate we had been overserved by the park and we weren't to blame for our actions. Right as I said that, my friend had a fifth of E&J brandy fall out of his jacket pocket onto the ground. The funniest possible timing anything has ever happened. We had seen a specific cop earlier in the evening, and he told us we were going to end up in some sort of trouble then. He was the one that took us up to the front, and laughed about it all the way. When we got up there, they told us we need to call up our friends to get us at the entrance as we couldn't safely be in the park anymore. Both our phones were dead, so they gave us chargers, and we called them up as soon as our phones were turned on. The same officer took us back up to the front, and I asked him if I could run into a gift shop to buy a Haunt shirt. He said that was fine, our friends showed up, and he bid us farewell. One of the best Haunt nights ever, but also surprisingly, not the drunkest Haunt night I have had.

  16. I didnt purchase this year - I bought during the all parks for 19.99 if you buy at crappy SixFlags Over GA promo LOL. I jkust think they need to look at the regions and make sure there is an even distrbution of parks and experiences. It feel like EAST is pretty heavy on larger parks

  19. From what I've understood your MVP Sale Gold Pass will get you most/all of the benefits advertised to you at the time of purchase. All-Parks access, free general parking (except at Knott's), early entry to parks that offer it (excluding Cedar Point), and access to seasonal festivals like Halloween Haunt, Tricks & Treats, and Winterfest. The only benefits that may have changed for you are how All Season Fast Lane will work at other parks and that Haunt mazes will still be an upcharge. Six Flags will hopefully have this all sorted out for 2027. I suspect it'll be the new system from then on; or until they decide that they still aren't getting enough people buying passes. I'm not excited that I'll probably have to buy a 2027 Prestige Pass for all parks access, but if that's what it's going to take then I'll probably do it. Watch out when you go into the Six Flags app and look for your pass under non-Kings Island park pages. Mine is showing up as simply a Gold Pass for parks like KI, Cedar Point, and California's Great America; a Gold Pass Midwest Region for Chicago's Great America; and a Gold Pass East Region for Six Flags Over Georgia and Great Adventure. For parks like Canada's Wonderland, Carowinds, and Kings Dominion it only shows my 2025 Gold Pass under the "expired" tab. There are some parks that don't show my pass at all. The app shows people's Prestige Pass(es) across all park pages, just not Gold Passes. I intend to reach out to Six Flags to find out more about this before my potential trip to Kings Dominion for their Opening Day. If I don't get a clear answer or get a different answer at the gate, I'm also preparing myself to have a nice and civil conversation with KD's guest services.

  21. Hey, everyone - We had Josh Sneed, the owner of Cincy Shirts on Tower Topics the other day. He was nice enough to give us a discount code to give out and a gift card to give away. Check out what he had to say:

  22. I wouldn't worry so much about the price itself - it was either "worth it" to you or not at $1,000. But the issue I see is that cutting the price in half will likely saturate and dilute FL/FLP even further than it already is. The daily prices have been far too low, and so too have the season long FLP passes, judging by the ever-increasing FL/FLP queues.

  26. Not happy about this one considering EPR currently owns my new home park of Wild Waves.... I think the last time WW got a new ride was 2011 and that was a kiddy flat ride. They "can't afford to" fix rides that break and as soon as the light rail moved in now they are shutting down because the property became valuable for condos. EPR is a horrible management company that only looks to extract whatever they can from the parks before running them into the ground and eventually selling the property if/when it becomes profitable to do so
