  1. Can't remember where I read it, but Eye of The Storm apparently has been or will be removed. Not sure if scrap or sold.
  2. Haha the crane looked further back than that! Thanks!
  3. My guess is that they're doing work on BLSC. They wouldn't need a crane that high to take down decorations...they'd need a boom for the employees. A lot of the decorations in that area likely would have been moved by forklift.
  4. Snake River Falls, Professor Dilbert's Frontier Fling, Forbidden Frontier (and the playground) have all been removed during the 2024-2025 off season, you could even consider TTD removed as well (2022ish-2023). Cedar Point is one of the top earning parks in the chain....why not continue to boost it, especially for the recognition and what not. It's not fishy, it's business.
  5. If you read what I said, it may be on it's way out. I don't know the makeup of Marineland's operating hours, but I know that people who have built homes near Kings Island after the park was built, complain about the noise all of the time. It'd only be a matter of time before complaints come in and ownership decides it's not worth operating any further. Of course, may or may not happen...who knows. But I see this as a way that will eventually cause Marineland to go under.
  6. https://niagarafalls.ca/pdf/public-notices/4034/public-meeting-notice-final.pdf Looks like Marineland may be on it's way out.
  7. @befat that's why I gave the disclaimer that the pic was from Google Maps and not sure what it looked like in 2024. Looks like the gift shop reno is going to be the Kings Island Trading Company, which will include an outdoor merch patio of sorts. Looking further into the permits, looks like all three major restrooms/bathhouses are being renovated in Soak City. The one closest to the entrance (near the train station), the one next to Coconut Cove and the one near the wave pool/RiverRacers). Sinking some serious cash into renos this offseason.
  8. They leave that up to the geese due to the budget.
  9. I haven't been able to find the blueprints online. Just the basic permit information.
  10. The fountain is starting to escape from under the ice rink! Won't be too long now before we see it filled with water (well a couple of months).
  11. Looks like a new permit has been filed for Coney BBQ Kitchen Reno with a Job Value of $100,000.00. Wondering if any change is coming to the menu with the reno. Other Permits Filed for 2025 Season: Subway/Blue Ice Cream Building Reno - $145,000.00 -Screenshot from Google Maps - not sure what it looked like in 2024. Already discussed, Soak City Bathroom Remodel - Job Value $650,000.00 Possibly discussed previously, Dippin Dots Storage Shed - Job Value $24,500.00 Semi-worth noting, they are doing a Greenhouse replacement as well, per the permit filed in November - Job Value $$22,846.00. As shared earlier, a front gate gift shop reno is taking place - Job Value $450,000.00. Not included, River Racers and Soak City water attraction upgrades.
  12. I don't know if the permit really has to do with concrete, as it's not really a "build." It is interesting though, that they asked for the permit to be expedited. I do think they could use a similar set up as the dry park with security. Here's a birds eye view of the entrance.
  13. I don't know if it's supposed to be a specific park or not...but if it is, AI KI Soak City I'm guessing.
  14. Lol, it has to be. There are 2 yellow slide run offs but nothing to the tower....and the blue slide doesn't connect either from what I can tell.
  15. Sorry it's been a couple months since this comment, but watching the Knott's Webcam today, it made me wonder why hasn't the chain/industry added more of these Gerstlauer models. Would think they'd be a hit.
  16. Guessing it'll be completely last minute...it's not like they don't know what events are going to happen this year. They could also be waiting until after the potential layoffs happen.
  17. I find these layoffs at Carowinds interesting. You'd think Six Flags Entertainment Company would be pushing for additional positions in Charlotte, after essentially investing so heavily in the area and expanding the offerings at Carowinds. If they are truly consolidating roles, why wasn't this done prior to the merger? I doubt this will be the last park to do this.
  18. I don't think we'll lose Winterfest....there's a chance, but I doubt it. With the Six special events being listed here: Winterfest is still a thing, while the specific parks may not be listed (other than Canada's Wonderland), Carowinds will have it again this year...I don't see KI losing it as it was a part of the park for much longer than KD.
  19. Looks like one of the front gate merch shops will be remodeled before the season begins.
  20. From what I've read online, there is a potential the park will operate in 2025....just not with Standard Amusements.
  21. Everything is below the wooden platform.
  22. A bit of a rocky history, the park may not operate this year: https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/news/playland-park-may-not-open-in-2025-due-to-contract-dispute/ar-AA1xOYeQ?utm_source=ITPS+Leisure+News&utm_campaign=a0a7a7986c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2025_01_27_12_36&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-a0a7a7986c-231732317
  23. It seems to me like Viva La Fiesta and Grand Carnivale could be combined into one. Would be good to see a refresh at KI, as the past couple of ones have been lackluster. Boardwalk Nights at CP is great, but would love to see another summer season event..
