  1. I agree but I think it could be cooler in front of the circle where the big Christmas tree usually is because they force guests enter security often to one side or the other...if they could utilize both sides that'd be great and the greenery could be seen in the middle. Whereas, if it were circled, people entering from the south side of the parking lot, may not see it.
  2. As much as I love Vortex, I'd rather have a replacement and/or new attraction not named after it. There are other rides named Vortex (with one essentially using the same type font and one used the same logo), for those looking for nostalgia. The renaming of Flight Deck to The Bat was fan driven...but I'd argue it was a better idea because of the addition of Banshee than if the park put in a new ride/attraction to just name it The Bat because there was a former ride named it. IMO it'd be better if there was a desire to keep The Vortex name, to rename Invertigo than putting in a new ride/attraction naming it after the former ride in Coney. Carowinds (same type font) Canada's Wonderland (former logo)
  3. Orion The Beast Adventure Express Invertigo The Bat Diamondback Racer Queen City Stunt Coaster Flight of Fear Woodstock Express Mystic Timbers Snoopy's Soap Box Racers Woodstock's Air Rail Great Pumpkin Coaster Where I rank Orion doesn't mean that those who don't post on KIC or aren't considered enthusiasts rank them the same place that I do or that @DispatchMaster would. Because you rank it lower, than me or Dispatch, doesn't mean that it's not a great coaster in the eyes of those who don't post on KIC or aren't "enthusiasts," or the general public.
  4. Say this louder for the people in the back!
  5. KI did have a 4th of July event in Picnic Grove https://cpfoodblog.com/kings-island-4th-of-july-bbq-2015/ The question is, would it actually be worth it to do it now with meal plans being available, better quality food around the park, etc?
  6. KI doesn't need to be more crowded on the 4th of July. What exactly would be a specialty food for 4th of July? Brats? Adding specialty foods, activities and entrainment is a lot to do for 1 day. Sure if they'd do the entire week, that would justify it.
  7. Sure, Orion isn't the best of the best....it's not a MF or a Fury (which isn't my favorite by any means)...but it is what it is. It wasn't originally meant for KI...but we got it. It's my favorite in the park and my 2nd favorite Giga. Literally the only people I see who complain about Orion are the 'thoosies online. The roller coaster 'thoosies are the most unenthused people about their hobby.
  8. Six Flags Mexico is opening the Speedway Stunt Coaster later this month. Linked below is a news story on it and then a video from Six Flags showing off the ride. SIx Flags Mexico Family Coaster Opens This Month Six Flags Video Looks like great theming around the ride and it's interesting that this received better theming than Soap Box Racers.
  9. Looks like SFGAm is now facing a lawsuit.... Six Flags Great America Superman Lawsuit
  10. My problem with the logo where it is, is that if anyone is standing in front of it for a photo, it's hard to get a photo of it without including the people. It's also hard to see when anyone is standing in front of it, as it's too low (so taking a group photo in front of the fountain/sign, you get the fountain but not the sign).
  11. Invertigo, Brewhouse or WindSeeker bathrooms.
  12. I think a lot of the issues of security/fights/etc. happened later in the evening. While these issues could happen at any time, it seems as if the later it is, the more severe the issues become. So trying to keep it "family friendly," by reducing the risk of issues later in the evening.
  13. Dragon Coaster promised to open in 2026: https://myrye.com/2026/01/ken-jenkins-dragon-coaster/?utm_source=ITPS+Leisure+News&utm_campaign=bee4908e71-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2026_01_04_04_31&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_-bee4908e71-231732317
  14. The Skyline Patio is not a good place for a show, unfortunately. The show that was there, "Twas The Plight Before Christmas" while a great/fun show suffered from bad sight lines with the various poles holding the roof of the structure up. Then you also have the issue of seating being limited with the round tables with some seats not there (handicap spots). I would have loved for this show to find a new space, but sadly it didn't. Part of the issue of ensuring that it would be at certain spots at certain times was that the trolley itself suffered the issue of not wanting to start/move/stay on/etc. The other part of the issue was that they didn't have any notice of "the trolley show will be by Diamondback entrance at X:XX" other than at that spot on a sign that were often off the main path or in spots that weren't really visible.
  15. The poor Holly Jolly Trolley essentially died...entertainment was kind of a bust on it, as no one ever knew where it would be or when.....but then it turned into a ride....well the trolley ended up being more mechanically a headache than it was worth. May it RIP. Guessing the Columbus Zoo is a bit different because they operate those two rides generally year round. My first visit to Winterfest this year was not a great one, however my 2nd and final was (all minus the lights around the train route).
  16. Wasn't Kentucky Flyer a part of the "expansion" land (acre or so) that the Fairboard gave to the park? Maybe not the whole acre used by the ride, but part of it.
  17. I'm on board with B&M doing a 4D coaster with the Wing Coaster model, unless it's like Rapterra...too shaky.
  18. I stumbled upon this video and thought I'd share.
  19. From what I gather, the Pepper's Ghost is not going to return, unless that is "on stage."
  20. Not memorable to many....I had to look him up to even know who you were talking about. If they acknowledged any voices that lend part to rides, Mystic Timbers and Orion are two others that would need it...but it's literally not necessary or warranted.
  21. How exactly would they do that? And why? It would be an odd thing to acknowledge.
  22. I'd like to see the trains become a little less restrictive. I definitely can ride, but there has to be a little help getting the bar to the right spot to click the stupid seat belt.
  23. My complaint was that they needed more scares
