  1. The poor Holly Jolly Trolley essentially died...entertainment was kind of a bust on it, as no one ever knew where it would be or when.....but then it turned into a ride....well the trolley ended up being more mechanically a headache than it was worth. May it RIP. Guessing the Columbus Zoo is a bit different because they operate those two rides generally year round. My first visit to Winterfest this year was not a great one, however my 2nd and final was (all minus the lights around the train route).
  2. Wasn't Kentucky Flyer a part of the "expansion" land (acre or so) that the Fairboard gave to the park? Maybe not the whole acre used by the ride, but part of it.
  3. I'm on board with B&M doing a 4D coaster with the Wing Coaster model, unless it's like Rapterra...too shaky.
  4. I stumbled upon this video and thought I'd share.
  5. From what I gather, the Pepper's Ghost is not going to return, unless that is "on stage."
  6. Not memorable to many....I had to look him up to even know who you were talking about. If they acknowledged any voices that lend part to rides, Mystic Timbers and Orion are two others that would need it...but it's literally not necessary or warranted.
  7. How exactly would they do that? And why? It would be an odd thing to acknowledge.
  8. I'd like to see the trains become a little less restrictive. I definitely can ride, but there has to be a little help getting the bar to the right spot to click the stupid seat belt.
  9. My complaint was that they needed more scares
  10. Guessing it's a browser issue, I'm seeing it all fine on Windows 11 - Chrome Browser
  11. Went for my likely last visit to Winterfest for the year last night. I had a great time in all honesty. The weather was great and the crowds were light. First thing was dinner at Coney BBQ. The Turkey and Corn Soufflé tasted great especially with the Cranberry BBQ sauce (turkey). I did not go to any shows during this visit, but did catch several midway merriment characters and part of the parade. Took a ride on the 12 Days of Christmas train. This time, they actually played the song, though by the 5th Day display, we were on the 9th day of Christmas. Of course, there were lights out including the number 12, but it's okay because the song was already over and we were on some weird version of another Christmas song. Some displays were missing their heads, some of them were lit well. I still don't know why they can't send them to the manufacturer (I think it's a business in the Pigeon Forge area) to get refurbished in the "off season." This was my first visit to the park with snow on the ground (even if most of it was in piles) and some on the rides too. It made the event more magical to me. I ended up buying a print from Theme Park Art and it's one of Vortex. It was fairly priced and a gorgeous piece. The highlight of the night honestly was the food. I got the turkey ball at the end of the night and wow, I'm sad I hadn't had it before.
  12. Decided to check out trademarks... I know this has been discussed, but ValleyFair's waterpark has the trademark Superior Shores Waterpark
  13. Coney's last major overhaul was 2011 with the addition of pavers, WindSeeker and Dinosaurs Alive. It also got a boost in 2018 (Coney BBQ) and 2019 (Kings Mills Antique Autos). It also lost a major attraction in 2019, Vortex (RIP). Action Zone's last major overhaul was in 2014 with the addition of Banshee. Rivertown had a major overhaul for 2009 with Diamondback. It got a boost in 2013 with Reds Hall of Fame Grille and then another major boost beginning in 2016 with the removal of concession stands and then in 2017 with Mystic Timbers. I'm not sure Oktoberfest even actually exists anymore to the park. Not counting the kids area, the next section that I think that would need an expansion/refurbishment would be Action Zone (based on time of last addition/refurb). To me the only section that is acceptable to be filled before that is The Vortex plot.
  14. From aerial photos I've seen this year, it does look like the ground is painted again.
  15. Sea Warrior at Indiana Beach is similar(ish) to Monster....fun ride, I think it's better than Monster honestly. All of the ride vehicles are loaded at once on the ground and are independently able to move up and down throughout the ride cycle.
  16. Noooo way! Until they are able to transport people in and out of the back portion of the park (whether it be by ferry, monorail, etc. or some sort of mainland parking), taking out parking spaces (that are absolutely full at multiple points of the summer/fall) is not the answer.
  17. Lakemont Park has become incredibly sad....it's not even an amusement park anymore IMO. The last visit I had, Skyliner and Leap The Dips were all that was worth doing. There used to be much more and it was worth the stop. It's sad that the partnership lost sight of what the park is/was. It's hard to make $ (after you sell most of the attractions) when you have little to bring guests in, weird hours and ride status unknown (on the 2 rides worth doing anything).
  18. I feel like this past season was the busiest I've ever seen it, so I can only say that definitely almost hit a record!
  19. Another photo from the guy on Reddit
  20. I did just see on Facebook that they are "actively working" on the site that's showing limited December dates. Other than that, hours still kind of sad 10 pm closure on 4th of July and the lack of 11 pm closes.
  21. Interesting that there are dates late November and the beginning of December from 4 to 10 on Saturdays and 5 to 10 on Friday and Sundays. Nothing mid November and closer to Christmas. Winterfest gone? Edited to add: Forth of July closes at 10. No 11p closes that I can see, 12a for October.
  22. Would love to see it. I, would also love to see a portioned amount of ice per cup being dispensed, like they do in some drivethrus.
