  1. I also grey out occasionally right before the turnaround after the first drop...and for some weird reason I used to grey out during the helix on Orion. But, I've gotten over the grey out after riding it so many times. Doesn't happen much anymore. But I don't judge a ride on how much it makes me grey out, but by how much fun I had and the smile I wear after riding it!
  2. What were the other names for Fury and Orion?
  3. Yes, the double sided signs. I too wish parks made it easier to enjoy the park without being on your phone constantly Today was a better day than my previous two visits, and I got in a couple rides: Drop Tower, Banshee, Orion, and The Beast. The Beast Fast Lane line today was crazy, and was almost backed up all the way to the photo station. Also, Music in the Parks contributed to the crowds today, so the crowd level was understandable. Guess what was down today again? Yes, Stunt Coaster was once again down. What is it with this ride? Ever since the ride opened and got re-themed, it has been down constantly. Did they alter the ride in any way? I know the fire affect seems to be gone for good, but they didn't change anything else did they? Seems odd to me. Anyway, it ended up re-opening around 3:30 ish, but I didn't get around to riding it. I saw the new covered seating area today, and it looks really good! Obviously not complete yet, but I think guests will really benefit from this area. I also saw these new cups that KI seems to be using. They still use the older ones with the Legacy Cedar Fair parks on it, but this new cup seems to be the new Six Flags cup. Looks alright I guess, looks pretty standard. Doesn't have a SIX logo on it though, so I'm curious if there will be a new one, or if this is it. Also, what is up with the red train on Diamondback? They were running three train operations just fine yesterday, but today they had red train in the storage shed, and then added it back on a little while later. This is the same train that was off the track the first few weeks of operation, correct? Overall, today was better than my previous days, and I enjoyed the nice weather!
  4. So I know last year they added the screen in front of the ride on the big roller coasters (Mystic, Orion, D-Back, Banshee. These signs aren't even on 25% of the time, so why get them in the first place?) and these screens kiosks around the park. At first, I thought they would put wait times on the screens, but then I saw all that really plays is advertisements and seasonal event stuff (like Haunt). Do we know what these were supposed to be? In my opinion, I would love to see the wait times displayed on these, although the times are never really accurate anyway. Sure, you can always look on your phone, but I really like enjoying the park without having to constantly be on my phone for when the wait times drop. Universal is getting a lot of heat right now because guests are constantly having to be on their phones if they want to ride Battle at the Ministry. Hopefully they figure out this Virtual Line thing or just get rid of it all together. Enough of Universal, back to KI I don't really know the purpose of these signs, but they seem like they could be used in lots of better ways. You could even put out the weather forecast like they do on the TV's in the queue lines for rides (which they might already do that, I can't remember) or even inform the guests on what events/shows are going on later in the evening
  5. I wasn't there last Saturday, but the previous Saturday and Passholder Preview Day I was there. The crowds were super busy those first two weeks, and only got a ride on Beast and Diamondback both times before I had to leave. Last two weeks were Music in the Parks I think, so this is where crowds die down slightly before the summer crowds start rolling in.
  6. Seems like KI is in good shape to be ready for the summer crowds coming soon!
  7. Yes, I realized that after the fact Now it is open and still great operations!
  8. Great News! Diamondback is back up to three trains! Operations are great, the train is leaving the station before the 3rd train gets back in the break run (although the park just opened for passholders )
  9. I absolutely love that Holiday World does this, and hope they continue this tradition in the future. Having free drinks makes it super convienent to just get a drink on the go, and helps guests stay hydrated during those really hot days. The free drinks contribute to the whole environment at Holiday World, and that's what makes the park so special! Hopefully I can make it out there this summer!
  10. It definitely looks like the new structure/covering that they've been working on. Glad to see it! I may be going this Saturday, so I will check it out when I go next!
  11. So much for the concept art...you can hardly make out anything! Definitely different than Universal's concept art! Still looks cool, but I'll never go there
  12. Here's a new concept I made for a new Cornered maze layout: The blue represents the fencing, the orange represents the queue, the red represents the actual maze layout, the brown represents The Bat entrance queue, the black represents The Bat exit, and the green represents a really cool new Cornered sign over the top of the entrance to the queue. The queue/entrance area of this new maze would take up most of the EXtreme Skyflyer plot, but would allow for more space for the maze. Not exactly sure how many trees are back there and how many you would need to cut down, but I'm pretty sure you could fit it in there. Makes it scarier too because you're in the woods and lost in a maze with lots of fog. The maze would start right at the end of the Skyflyer plot, and would end right after the former Blackout haunted maze (at least I think that's what it was called). This building could be used as a shed type thing with lots of scarecrows that are "being made" and they "come alive" and get you right when you see the exit. The exit would drop you off right next to The Bat sign. In regards to Haunt additions, we did get Hooked last season, so KI isn't necessarily due for another maze. Although it isn't a maze and just a scare zone, it still counts to me as a Haunt addition. I do remember last year during Haunt the first 2-3 weeks of operations Cornered was down and not able to have guests go through the maze (I remember someone saying something about a pipe bursting). So maybe moving the Cornered maze would work better. If they did upgrade/redo Cornered, then you have something semi-new. It doesn't add a maze, but it is something new that you could advertise (although I'm not sure if they would advertise that). I've actually never been in Cornered before, (I'm not much of a scary, gory, evil stuff guy. I have been in KillMart and Hotel St. Michelle though) but I know lots of people that think Cornered is the weaker of the mazes and prefer the haunted houses more. What do you guys think of this concept? Will the Skyfyler plot be used for a new Haunt attraction, or something else entirely?
  13. I used to think that the new 2026 "family thrill attraction" would go here for sure...now not so much. Now I'm thinking that we might see it come somewhere we didn't think of
  14. Although I do agree that most guests don't pay much attention to the surroundings and just focus on where they might get wet, I think that some good theming and animatronics would enhance the ride, and maybe even add a storyline that you could learn in the currently boring queue. Maybe even add a tunnel and some characters, and the ride becomes better. Will they get more people riding it? Probably not. Will the investment be worth it? Probably not. Will they actually do this? Probably not. That's just my thoughts though
  15. Looks like we got ourselves a team!
  16. Now that I think of it, I did see the back of the Crypt building open, and there were a few people in there. I saw this from The Beast line during Passholder Preview Day. The door that was open was kind of like a garage door...not sure if you know what I'm talking about.
  17. It doesn't even need to be an animatronic...it could be a stationary thing just off of the track and it would seem to move if you put speakers next to it. Your going so fast, you wouldn't know any different. The Yeti on Expedition Everest doesn't move either, but it seems to move with you!
  18. Just an FYI @Hawaiian Coasters 325-The pictures aren't working on my end. Not sure about everyone else though...
  19. The mid-course show scene went from confusing, to "what am I even watching???"
  20. Nice analogy! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'e started to pick up on the idea that if there's something that CP has that KI doesn't, they don't try and beat it. It's one business/corporation, so why would they try and compete with each other? If you want something to come to KI that's at CP, then just drive the 3 or so hours there (assuming your relatively close to KI) But like @BeeastFarmer said, KI's bread and butter is the season pass and drink/meal plans. I know plenty of people who get passes every year and go just for Passholder Preview Day and a day during Haunt and Winterfest. Or some people that just get passes because that's what they've always done. It's kind of a tradition to get a KI pass around this area, and that's why Passholder Preview Day is so busy. It's not a preview, because literally 90% of KI's guests get passes. All that said, KI doesn't really need to improve or compete with CP in the Live Entertainment section. As discussed before on many other threads, people will keep coming back and buying passes, as long as the price stays relatively cheap to other parks. They may not like or agree with everything the park does, but they will keep coming back and back again, time after time.
  21. A sneak peek at the new 2026 "family thrill attraction"???
  22. After waiting a long while in Diamondback's line and watching Orion, they were doing about standard operations. The fastest I ever saw it yesterday was when the train hit the brakes, the next train left
  23. I waited about the same as Passholder Preview Day: Diamondback: 80 minutes-still at 2 trains Beast: 70 minutes-how many trains does Beast normally run? I feel like they're one train short. Or, there's just so much Fast Lane and that's why it feels like the line doesn't move
