  1. Agree with you 100%. I think a lot of people miss this. Quite simple, yet effective. But they tell a cohesive story and the overall experience “works.” Unfortunately, BBoBH (in my opinion) suffers from a lack of story, derelict effects/scenery, and a non-working gimmick in the shooting aspect. I make it a point to ride BBoBH every visit, and as of the end of the regular reason my/our guns only worked 30%-ish of the time. If that’s such a big aspect of the ride, you’d think it would be a priority to have it work. To your original point, three dimensional figures with basic articulation would probably be more than effective. I think time, as it often does, softens our memories and if you were to look back at the PT POV’s you’ll see that most of those animatronics weren’t incredibly dynamic. Which is fine. Many of the characters featured limited articulation. But again, they’re incredibly fun and effective. The intensity, cost, and upkeep of those animatronics are greatly over exaggerated in comparison to those featured in other attractions throughout the industry. That’s not to say they’re not a lot of work and/or not impressive or expensive. It’s sort of become another KIC-ism over time similar to “Winterfest won’t return because of (XYZ Reason).” And we know what became of that. There’s a lot of irony in perpetuating the “too expensive” rhetoric and then turning around and saying that the non-working shooting gimmick is essential to the ride experience. They could do something really special. Especially when you look at the recent thematic elements /additions in Mystic Timbers’ shed. They could do it right. Whether or not they would is up for debate. I think anything that goes in that building is going to be held to a higher caliber by fans because of the history of attractions in that spot. I definitely thinks that’s why SDATHC and BBoBH were/are met with a resounding “meh” from fans. They were both progressively cheaper reskins of an impressive attraction and as result they ultimately fell short. Hearing Rick Batsrup talk about a potential reincarnation of the ride with yet to be revealed characters and a new Garbonzo-centric finale makes me believe that, if they were to involve R&R, then it would be done correctly. One can only dream.
  2. Because a good number of folks on this site are hellbent on shoving a coaster into every single semi-available piece of land within the park. The mental gymnastics preformed to justify a new coaster installation is mind boggling to me. I’m also confused to why everyone wants to see Congo Falls removed. Same goes for Timberwolf. There’s plenty of available space for new additions without removing either of these. It’s also important to understand that not every new addition needs to be a coaster.
  3. Consider me another who’d purchase all of that!
  4. Hey, it’s happened before right? I’m with ya on hoping they could return as well.
  5. You’re welcome. It’s a sad sight for sure. I don’t think there’s been much of a reason explained thus far.
  6. Ah, I miss Swan Lake. That whole area between the Eiffel Tower through the Junkyard Coaster and into Rivertown has seen better days.
  7. It was a really involved maze. Definitely something special. Sorely missed.
  8. Also… Urgent Scare has seen much better days. When it debuted, it was one of my favorite mazes created for Haunt. But now? It’s truly just a shell of its former self. I hope they’re able to utilize that space for a more permanent attraction and spend some time, money, and TLC on the existing mazes.
  9. A significant addition doesn’t always mean a new coaster.
  10. I mean, if you break down a lot of the 2022 additions you’ll see that they can easily carry over. 1. Food - In today’s announcement they mentioned improvements to service and delivery systems. That’s definitely a positive. Any menu items created specifically for the 50th could continue to be options or options of the same caliber could be introduced (hopefully). 2. Fireworks - The 50th show could be brought back easily if they wanted too. It would require a few creative changes, but it could be done. Even if that’s it for the 50th show, the infrastructure of the current show (projections, drones, lasers, etc.) could be used in a new show that could be just as great. 3. Shows - I’m not sure if there are any 2022 shows specifically tailored to be dumped after this season. They could all theoretically return. In addition to what you mentioned, you have a vast amount of general park improvements and the massive undertaking that was The Beast retracking project. That’s a capital investment worthy of being a season’s “new ride” by itself. Much of what 2022 brought will carry over I’m sure. KI’s time in the sun will be coming.
  11. This is just personal conjecture, but a lack of a major addition in 2023 makes me feel like something significant could be on its way for 2024 or onward. No reason get upset. 2022 was the best season I’ve personally experienced and there we no massive capital investments. No need to be upset.
  12. Honestly? Maybe 1/2 to 3/4 full maximum. Back sections were a ghost town. I really hope they can figure it out, though. It was a great time.
  13. Had a great time seeing this show Sunday. I hope they can find a way to keep this successful.
  14. I’ll echo sone sentiments here and hope that this could mean a refreshed Oktoberfest. A nice flat ride and and update land with new food options (looking at you, Festhaus) would be great.
  15. And now that’s going to be stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
  16. I think Scooby was, at one point post-HB Land, technically a part of International Street.
  17. Finally was able to get a ride in tonight. She feels fantastic.
  18. Beautiful night at the park! Walked on everything.
  19. Here are a few shots of the park I was able to get yesterday (from areas available to the general public en route to Riverbend). A couple notes: 1. The pictures don’t do it justice. The area looks pretty abysmal and any PR stating that they are going to use the space for “water attraction” expansions seems to likely be BS. 2. The Games Building and Moonlite Gardens are starting to look rough. I don’t understand why you let this type of infrastructure rot away. Historical reasons aside, it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. The enthusiast and life long fan of the park also thinks it’s stupid. 3. It was a Saturday afternoon in July and the picnic area was an absolute ghost town. So that aspect of their business model seems to doing as well as the lead paint industry. 4. The supposedly open mini golf and paddle boats may have been operating, but they too were empty. What’s most shocking to me is the lack of upkeep around this now defunct area of the park. I understand that it’s not an area frequented by park guests as much, but anyone parking in that first lot to either see a show at Riverbend or have an unfortunate picnic outing planned is going to be walking right passed a number of ugly fences and unkempt landscaping. I would assume you’d want to show some pride in whatever creative and/or business endeavors you’re responsible for, but that’s obviously not the case here. Shout out to the ownership of the park. Most people who are this bad at their job get fired. A true accomplishment! You should be proud. What was their old slogan? “Turning back the clock on… nothing?”
