I think Scooby was, at one point post-HB Land, technically a part of International Street.

Coney Island Cincinnati to remove all rides
beastfan11 replied to BoddaH1994's topic in Coney Island Central
Here are a few shots of the park I was able to get yesterday (from areas available to the general public en route to Riverbend). A couple notes: 1. The pictures don’t do it justice. The area looks pretty abysmal and any PR stating that they are going to use the space for “water attraction” expansions seems to likely be BS. 2. The Games Building and Moonlite Gardens are starting to look rough. I don’t understand why you let this type of infrastructure rot away. Historical reasons aside, it doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense. The enthusiast and life long fan of the park also thinks it’s stupid. 3. It was a Saturday afternoon in July and the picnic area was an absolute ghost town. So that aspect of their business model seems to doing as well as the lead paint industry. 4. The supposedly open mini golf and paddle boats may have been operating, but they too were empty. What’s most shocking to me is the lack of upkeep around this now defunct area of the park. I understand that it’s not an area frequented by park guests as much, but anyone parking in that first lot to either see a show at Riverbend or have an unfortunate picnic outing planned is going to be walking right passed a number of ugly fences and unkempt landscaping. I would assume you’d want to show some pride in whatever creative and/or business endeavors you’re responsible for, but that’s obviously not the case here. Shout out to the ownership of the park. Most people who are this bad at their job get fired. A true accomplishment! You should be proud. What was their old slogan? “Turning back the clock on… nothing?” -
Don’t quote me on this, but I think there’s a situation where the train (per someone’s guidelines) would either be able to run during Haunt or Winterfest. Could anyone “in the know” elaborate?

Love it. I was also one of those kids who just wanted to marathon on PT. Great article. -
All do respect, I hope you’re wrong. About that first part, anyway. Haha.

I was just making a meme joke that referenced the original ride, so I’m not going to comment on the looks of the performers because that’s a little weird. I’ll say this, though. Saw the show for the first time yesterday with my fiancé and we were both blown away. We spoke to a gentlemen outside before the show who suggested they release the show as an album and I couldn’t agree more. It’s a lot of fun. This is subtle.

She’s a ten, but breaks all your mirrors.

I’ll be there! Looking forward to it.

This is the actual right answer.

This is another one of those arguments that just gets tossed around here for the sake of making an argument. For the sake of nostalgia, it’d be cool to see it return in the current Boo Blasters building, but I’d be happy to see it anywhere if done right. There are plenty of popular dark rides (even in non-Disney parks) that don’t have the shooting gimmick. Here’s to hoping!

You and me both. Only details I’m aware of are the addition of live actors. I believe there was some sort of situation where they added something to the back of the cars that allowed scareactors to hit the back of ‘em. Don’t quote me on that. I also think the portion of the ride with the floating white dress was permanently damaged with fake blood. I was like, 8 when this was a thing do this is all hearsay. Guess they’ll just have to revamp the haunt when PT returns next season. Right?

I feel like there’s always been a lot of “buzz” around the ride and bringing it back in some capacity, although your timeline for green lighting the project would make sense. If it were to return, it’d need to be a very smart revival of the original concept. I look at stuff like the Mystic Timbers shed and have faith that they’d have the ability to pull it off IF they wanted to go that route. The easy thing to do would be to do an easy retheme of Boo Blasters, add sone screen based effects, and make sure the guns work properly. That would be incredibly disappointing, and as you said…. Eh. No thanks. But a nice overhaul of the current ride setup with a combination of physical sets, basic animatronics, and screen based effects could make for great experience that would be welcome by fans of the original ride and newbies all the same. Plus, the park would never be in a situation where an IP refresh would be required a la Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle since you’re working with original characters. And before it’s brought up, there are plenty of smaller parks that operate dark rides with basic animatronics and physical sets. So there’s no “it’s too expensive to operate” excuses applicable. It’s absolutely feasible if done correctly. That argument reminds me of the “Winterfest is never returning because of X” posts that circled around for years. Yet, it’s arguable that Winterfest has overtaken Halloween Haunt as the more popular event.

All right, I know. It’s Reddit. But… maybe if we’re talking about the ride returning enough it’ll come back.
