Cedar Fair working with Bitec for parts
Oldschool75 replied to IndyGuy4KI's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
It could be "Yesterday Once More". I think only a handful of people on here will get that reference. lol -
Coasterstock 2019 - May 17th & 18th

I'm excited. Now I have a lot of work to get done before the event. LOL Can't wait to see everyone there. -
Kings Island Super 8 reel from 1972
Oldschool75 replied to HarvestmanMan's topic in Kings Island History
The Fessler films are different than the ones you donated to our project. I busted folks to know that. Lol. Yes, the Coney Island reels contain a lot of...um....let’s just say those portions will not be restored. Lol. Yet, there are some gems in it. I’m hoping to get them scanned soon. The problem is the chemical that is used to clean the film is pretty nasty stuff and requires a well ventilated area. Since it’s been below freezing outside I haven’t been able to probably clean them. I wouldn’t even attempt to do it in my basement. Stay tuned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
It’s called courtesy and respecting the park’s privacy as they prepare for the new season. A concept that many have forgotten or never were taught. :| Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just a warning. I would highly advise not flying a plane/drone/etc to get photos of the park.

I think Invertigo’s footprint would be more useful for a return of the picnic grove. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Why not just bring back the Skyride. Remove slingshot, add a new station, convert the Snoopy store in PS back into a station. Evacuating people from 100ft up is not as hard compared back to the late 70’s. Fire trucks now days have ladders that go that high. Wouldn’t be hard for the park to purchase a cherry picker with a 100’ reach. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I second that motion and move to close the idea of even chopping down any trees. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

“The park's iconic international-themed entry is ready for its first-ever makeover since the park opened more than 45 years ago.” Somebody at Channel 5 might want to fix this statement. Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There are usually multiple events going on in the park the same weekend as CoasterStock. -
They were, the itinerary hasn't been updated yet. Not sure if the site completely live since it is not on the front page, but the link I have booked marked shows the dates for 2019.

The same as the park building an RMC, a wing coaster, a new bathroom, a new restaurant, or even nothing at all.

***Updated, we have one now. I’m actually looking for a 1972 souvenir map in good shape to borrow for the ki50movie project. I need to get a ultra hi resolution scan if it. Send me a pm if you have one. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would support that.....as long as we get our Eagles back from Carowinds and they put it back in Coney Mall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kings Island Super 8 reel from 1972

That would be Joey Fessler. These are the reels of film he donated. There are 2 from Coney Island we plan on restoring as well. -

I sent you a PM. Here is a snippet of what has been done on some 8mm donated by the Fessler family from Bellevue, Ky. This is just initial steps in the process. Far from a finished product and already much improved. The frame on the left is what you get from most places if they provide a good telecine. On the right is our 1080p direct frame by frame scan of the film. https://youtu.be/4D8jG0kMfDE Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Yes, WaterWorks took away the seclusion of the train and the back of Hanna Barbera Land.

IMO, the biggest cosmetic changes. 1. Adventure Village/Action Zone 2. Rivertown 3. HB/Planet Snoopy Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m pretty sure there is a reason they haven’t yet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If CF holds true to past actions, then they will salvage any parts they will need to service Nighthawk at Carowinds and scrap the remaining part of the coaster. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I would say they probably used the container instance for FOF on this page that is used for the main website. Saves from having to make a whole new instance. **edit** Looks like thats what happened. It could be on purpose or just an over site in coding the the Winterfest page. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This is just something I quickly threw together in ps. I used Fury 325 as a filler. It is pretty much to scale here. The coaster could be configured any which way, but I think would open the area up. Also note I closed of the X-Base “tunnel” to allow Racer to be restored to the original track configuration. I miss that airtime at the brake run. Again, this is just an idea.
