  1. My reactions: 1. Uh... Apparently there are mythical beasts involved in the average Holiday World Thanksgiving festivities? Either that, or this journal thing is taking a really dark turn by having the author hallucinate. 2. It would be a sneaky little move to throw in a false clue pointing towards a B&M Wing Coaster at this point. My inner selfish enthusiast is kinda hoping this is one such instance, as the Wing Coasters I have ridden were somewhat forgettable beyond the first drop. Of course, even if the ride is a B&M Wing Coaster, that doesn't mean that a Holiday World version of it would necessarily be the same way. We'll see! Turkeys are flying!
  2. We film each of our shows during the season. DVD please!!
  3. Got to love the day and age of Facebook. While I use the site, I don't use it the way most people do...to complain and create drama on public pages. Ugh.
  4. Lol, Planet Pilgrim! How will they pull off the expansion? The Plan-et!
  5. I don't think it is. I personally think they're not talking about it on here, because they don't find it necessary to post about and/or they've got bigger things to deal with, such as promoting Kings Island Kicks Cancer campaign among many other events happening in the park.
  6. Thanks, but that's more geared toward what people say about KI outside of the park. But from what the IndyGuy4KI posted: I personally don't feel right posting about people from outside of the park talking about completely unrelated things to KI.
  7. I'm with you here.....I don't like parking lots in general because most people don't pay attention or try to get out first. Add those on top of poorly designed lots and you have yourself one or two things (1) Headache or (2) wreck. At KI the most I've dealt with in the parking lot, is people taking up two spots or cutting me off to get into the big line exiting the lot. I like them, but then I saw this and they now make me laugh when I see them. From: http://i.imgur.com/bbLpCuN.jpg
  8. Having worked in a customer service position for years now, I've come to learn that people in general don't read signs these days, then come up with any excuse they can when they're inconvenienced by their failure to read - my favorite being "I'm not from here" or "I've never been here before". Who goes to an unfamiliar place without reading informational signs? Reminds me of a customer tonight....she came up to the service desk and said she was really frustrated because she called into the store and talked with someone in electronics who said we only had one of the toys she was looking for, so she got out of her PJs to run to the store to find that there were 11......she said she's frustrated because she was lied to and wanted a discount. Which made me chuckle.....but, why call in your PJs if you know there is a possibility that there may be a limited number of items you want? So I guess my "darnest thing said" is "well can I get a discount for being lied to and having to get dressed to come to the store?" haha. I also love the, hey there's a sign here but I can't read it because it's my first time here excuses. Side note....we need a people say the darnest things outside of the park thread.
  9. To be fair, those gasps are actually needed for singing. To be a powerful voice for a powerful song, short but deep breaths are needed to produce strong dynamics. However, doing so in the mic is not required or needed. Not to mention, taking in too much air to perform a song such as the National Anthem with longer phrasing can be damaging. -Hydra, the Theatre/Music (Vocal) Major
  10. Thanks for your report! As for ERT and National Anthem, it is possible to close the rides during the National Anthem out of respect, but 99% of the time, the rides are already mid-cycle when the National Anthem starts. They could close the rides a few minutes prior to the National Anthem starting, but then there would be guests angry that the now 1/2 hour ERT session has been cut down to 20 minutes, or whatever it'd end up being. I personally am fine for the rides to be going for several reasons, one being that not everyone is patriotic and it may not be their personal choice to stand and listen to the performer (it's their personal Freedom). But at the same time, it irritates me when people run by during the singing to get to a ride first after ERT is over. Not to mention, the National Anthem can be heard all the way out in the parking lot, but the park doesn't stop traffic from coming in, to observe the singing. It's a great thought, but in my opinion, it'd be harder to deal with, the stopping of running rides during the singing than to just let it go as it has been. As for the Fudge Pops, the Creamsicle one is pretty good! I'm currently eating the Blue Ice Cream one. I've noticed the rattle on Banshee too, but toward the back. My thought, wheels need changed.
  11. Staying below....hmmm........an invert?
  12. I suspect a B&M family sized coaster. Dive Machine....I don't necessarily think so, however one in this market would be cool.
  13. Many members here have had a Selfie with #Jonathan, including Don Helbig.
  14. How isn't it helping?
  15. People Gotta Eat! I agree, it does fit with the Centurion persona. I just am not sold on the scheme......how many parks have Red and Yellow coasters?
  16. Did Uncle Dick pick out the paint scheme for the coaster? Lol. Honestly, great job putting that coaster together! Just not a fan of the yellow and red.
  17. I love Seeing Stars and Assured Future. I don't really want to buy the album..but maybe I'll just buy those two songs. So beautiful and so relaxing.
  18. Remind me to have you carry our stuff around at Kennywood, Conneaut Lake, Waldemeer & Canada's Wonderland in a few weeks! (Just kidding... now that GatorGirl's grown more we carry a lot less stuff than we used to!) Who are ya kidding, GatorGirl is carrying all of our stuff
  19. My least favorite is all. But if I had to choose, I really really disliked Stinger at Dorney.
  20. That's how it was for me when I visited, 1 op. I'm so used to pulling down restraints myself, so I was kind of taken back that it automatically lowered. Haha.
  21. I missed that....guess I should read these things more thoroughly and not late at night.
  22. I had a family at work who was at the park on the 10th for A Kid Again. They absolutely loved it. They were so excited when talking about it. I asked what their favorite thing to do was, all 4 kids said The Bumper Cars! Then the mother told me how much a blessing Kings Island and A Kid Again were on the 10th for them. The mom had tears in her eyes when talking about it. I said I was so happy for them that they got to go enjoy such a great day at a great park. I mentioned that I was a former ride op at the park and still spoke with several people who work in the park now. She told me to tell them thanks for providing such a great day!
  23. Going on with the water effects turned off because it corroded the track and what not, why can't they do it on Backlot Stunt Coaster, but Diamondback constantly has water hitting the tracks with the splash(up)down? Is Backlot Stunt Coaster made with inferior steel?
  24. It should be noted, that Power Hour does not equal "This train will be leaving in 30 seconds., etc." It's more so a communication to the rest of the crew, from what I'm understanding. I'm sure the whole "Do not walk across the seats" thing is more of a way to tell riders to not go throw their flip flops to the side of the train, the crew will do it themselves (even though it's disgusting). I do suggest telling a ride op that you have a blood sugar sensor and that you need to be careful when pulling the restraint down.
  25. I was just happy to hear an auto-spiel on their viking ship ride.
