  1. They didn't plan ahead and examine the potential hurdles that could have easily been avoided. This reminds me of when Discovery Kingdom added Vertical Velocity and completely went over the city's heighth regulations. They're trying to get on level with the big boys like KI, HW and other major parks but they're still on a level shared by smaller parks like Lake Compounce and so on. It seems like KK is trying to be an enthusiast park but still had a long way to go.
  2. Seems like the whole 2019 addition was a disaster. They had poor marketing, poor concept art, and poor planning. This definable is a defining aspect of their businesses planning that certainly does't bode well for them.
  3. @McSalsa I consider supports part of the ride experience. When I worked at Cedar Point over the summer, I could see the wood in the supports on Steel Vengeance sway in response to the train going throughout certain parts of the ride. Compare that to steel supports on full steel coasters where there is much less swaying. I'm no expert, but I believe that if the supports of the Voyage were magically altered to be wood instead of steel, you'd get a completely different, more traditional, wooden coaster experience. My two cents.
  4. To my understanding, each giga is an evolution of the last- Fury essentially improved on the Leviathan design so I have no doubt that a KI giga would be an improvement of Fury 325. In terms of what they could do, I really want to see a 90 degree drop- Fury 325 is 81 degrees so I don't see how hard it is to increase the vertical angle to 90- then again I'm not an engineer.
  5. I like how parks are constantly trying to improve guest's experience within the park. The entrance looks extremely inviting and gives off a Cedar Fair feel as they have been adding front gate coasters to their parks in the more recent years.
  6. @kingsislandaddict I really love the light package you included in the concept and would make the park truly glow at night.
  7. With Coney Mall getting the Antiques in 2019 and the B&M project in 2020, I suspect the foot traffic will stay in that section of the park. I have no idea if the park is finally going to brand X-Base as its own thing or if it'll stay a subsection of CM.
  8. Its listed as an attraction on the haunt site. Remember, its actually part of International Street
  9. I think the only complaint I have about this ride is the pacing. You start out slow going out of the station for a while until you reach the barn where you launch from, then after that it seems like you're barely making it through the inversions then speeding through twists and turns. Maybe its because I've become accustomed to Maverick's fast transitions and inversions that I'm not used to a launched coaster that slows down at certain parts of the ride. I'd still love to ride it though.
  10. I've never ridden a standup to really hate them so I guess I'll always consider them holes.
  11. On the topic of Mack, I think Cedar Fair wants to install more Macks down the road. Europa Park, Mack's own amusement park, has won the golden ticket award for best park consecutively since 2014. The only thing that's keeping Cedar Fair from installing Macks like crazy, however, is the fact that they manufacturer their rides overseas which costs a lot, opposed to B&M who manufacturers coasters in our own backyard.
  12. I feel like Carowinds is going to use that name if/when they convert their Vortex to a floorless coaster. They used it to throw everyone off before they announced Fury 325, similar to how KI did the same thing with The Bat to throw people off the Banshee trail
  13. Could there possibly be low attendance due to the lack of new coasters going to their subordinate parks? Dorney Park, World's of Fun, Valley Fair!, and Michigan's Adventure haven't received new coasters in nearly a decade. Maybe there's not as big of an ROI as there is with the superior parks like KI, CP, CW, & CWS, but I feel like not adding new coasters is hurting their attendance in some form or another.
  14. With President Trump visiting the tri-state today, will the closure of 71 affect tonight's attendance in any form?
  15. @CoastersRZ I wish Kings Island would convert #12 back to its original look. Its current look is somewhat inaccurate and kinda cheesy whereas the old look was classy, more accurate, and unique. It used to bare one of the rarest smokestacks built by Crown.
  16. Worlds of Fun's locomotive, #33 Eli has a new paint job paying homage to its original look http://unwof.blogspot.com/2013/05/9-old-rides-original-rides-from-1973.html http://unwof.blogspot.com/2013/05/9-old-rides-original-rides-from-1973.html
  17. I'm personally not a fan of the Virginian park's layout myself for the same reason
  18. If you want a Bengals coaster, I'd refer you to @Thrill_Biscuit
  19. I think the removal of Firehawk defines the bar for Cedar Fair's expectations for their major money making parks like Kings Island. Just makes you wonder about other parks that have low quality rides. Think about Canada's Wonderland and the coasters they have; Flight Deck and Timewarp seem like likely candidates for removal or relocation since they don't fit the mold for Cedar Fair standards. @MisterSG1, might be able to elaborate better on this.
  20. I had no idea Europa park was run by Mack until now. Its so odd that a single manufacturer can give so much variety to one park.
  21. I wouldn't. There are already 3 gigas in the chain that are blue, not to mention that one of them is only four hours away. Go green or go home
