  1. Just a normal opening day... https://www.yahoo.com/news/1-shot-officer-group-fires-031722345.html
  2. I don't have a problem with it either, but then I wouldn't expect it to be a highly anticipated ride on a top 10 list of most anticipated new rides either....doesn't mean it isn't a good addition to the park. I don't recall Sol Spin/Cargo Loco making any anticipated new rides for 2023 either...but it was still a good addition to the park...
  3. Good catch. See even the way they marketed the ride makes it seem way shorter LOL. And good catch on it being a stock catalog design. Another reason to not be overly excited.
  4. CF attendance down while SIX attendance was up for the year: CF: For the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, net revenues totaled $1.80 billion on attendance of 26.7 million guests, compared with net revenues of $1.82 billion on attendance of 26.9 million guests in 2022. The decrease in net revenues reflects the impact of a 1%, or 247,000, decline in attendance and a 1%, or $0.60, decrease in in-park per capita spending SIX: Attendance increased by 1.8 million guests or 9% to 22.2 million. We estimate that adverse weather reduced full-year attendance by over 1 million guests. This includes rain and snow in California during spring break, followed by a record summer heat wave in Texas and eight consecutive weekends of rain or threat of rain in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast after Labor Day. Total revenue increased by $68 million or 5%, driven by higher attendance and higher sponsorship revenue partially offset by lower per capita spending.
  5. Should we be surprised? Too many variables stacked against it. Shorter than Good Gravy. Supposed contract clause not allowing it to open before Good Gravy. To many people it is a smaller Good Gravy. Good Gravy has a better story line. Marketing for it is late and seems to always be playing catch-up. But still, even with better marketing, would this have made a most anticipated ride list given its stats and with Good Gravy opening same year? Further, all the anticipated rides on the list are either labeled in the article as a first of that kind in the US or first at that park or sets a record. Snoopy doesn't do any of those. Interesting that Six Flags has 3 on the list compared to 2 for CF...
  6. Site was down this morning and popped up a great photo of you working on the solution lol. But you need to update the photo as you have lost quite a bit of weight!
  7. Or are they going to retheme that area as space theme and that was Project 305 on their mission.
  8. Not only that, but unless they can come up with more than $8M to buy it (or more than that local restaurant does in an entire year if not two or more years), it just seems like there are better causes. But I guess if it stirs up more business for the local Salem Gardens and they overall make more money than they would on a typical February Saturday to offset donating a dollar for every coney purchased, then it is worth it to them.....as long as the pro-concert crowd doesn't try to cancel them and boycott them....
  9. Regardless of the show, we hear the same arguments every time it is a new show LOL. Some loved Ed Alonzo and saw it lots of times, while others saw it once and was done or decided not to watch it at all because it was just magic. Same for the Cirque's, Phantom Theatre Encore, and any other show the park does. Same will happen to this show - some will love it and watch it lots of times, and others will watch it once and be done or decide not to watch it at all because it is just bubbles. Whether it is budget related or not, just be glad we are getting something and something other than an all new music review LOL. Meanwhile the Kings Dominion Theater has sat vacant since covid. That could be the other option...
  10. That would be cool! And better than winning a Prestige pass upgrade
  11. New merch - The KIC puzzle, ages 3 and up
  12. On the plus side, the whole show isn't coming from the entertainment budget - they are purchasing soap for the bubbles from the Park Services budget - so when the restrooms are out of soap you know why
  13. Waiting for someone to count the number of bubbles in the show and complain about a bait and switch
  14. We are gonna get in the merger spirit and merge with the CF/SIX conglomerate to become the official forum of the chain
  15. You don't regret not getting the Prestige pass
  16. Grand Carnivale will be Mike and Chad driving around on the Trolley throwing out beads The streamers are still in the trees, so pump the volume of the soundtrack and people will assume they missed the parade like all those that thought they missed the parade for Winterfest LOL.
  17. Plus a "Strong performance over the second half of the year, including record fourth quarter attendance, validates the strength and resiliency of the Company’s business model" means more bait and switch and cut stuff because we (the consumer) are proving that people will come regardless of the product being provided... All the griping about cuts to ride hours and entertainment and people still show up in record numbers justifies their cuts...at least short term...
  18. "Strong performance over the second half of the year, including record fourth quarter attendance, validates the strength and resiliency of the Company’s business model. Robust trends in long-lead indicators, including 2024 season pass sales, underscore the Company’s bright prospects for continued growth and value creation. For the year ended Dec. 31, 2023, net revenues totaled $1.80 billion on attendance of 26.7 million guests, compared with net revenues of $1.82 billion on attendance of 26.9 million guests in 2022. The decrease in net revenues reflects the impact of a 1%, or 247,000, decline in attendance and a 1%, or $0.60, decrease in in-park per capita spending, offset in part by a 5%, or $10 million, increase in out-of-park revenues. The decline in attendance was attributable to a year-over-year decrease in season pass sales and lower demand during the first half of the year due to inclement weather. " https://finance.yahoo.com/news/cedar-fair-reports-results-2023-090000314.html#:~:text=2023 Full-Year Highlights&text=Attendance totaled 26.7 million guests,or 5% compared with 2022.
  19. Meanwhile they cut the hourly wages of the people who are actually "running the park" pretty much chain-wide... KD was always hurting for staff, let's cut the wages to $13 and then complain about being understaffed...
  20. I am with you there LOL - I am like wow 50,000 seems like a lot in a year. Pulling those numbers it is easy to see why it will stay as long as it is making money!
  21. Re-read it - it says they did 50,000 riders for that season, not over 15 years. Even if all of those rides were the cheap $10/person, that is $500,000. Given many of the rides would have been more expensive, it probably pulls $750,000 or so, maybe even closer to $1M with all the busy $25/$30 rides per person days I have seen on the weekends when that queue is full. If it wasn't profitable they would drop it quick as I am sure none of the revenue coming in from other sources goes towards this attraction and it is probably self sustaining. The moment they would have to divert money to that it is gone.
