  1. But But But people said it is always crowded and would never leave....
  2. We both knew, and expect, the park to be busy during Haunt despite this change. People love themselves the spooky season. People have been complaining for years that Haunt is watered down and just a regurgitation of Haunt 2019, yet every year we see tons of people in the park and Fast Lane lines approaching, out the queue. People complain, but people still show up. Gotta love the people on FB claiming they bought their passes EXCLUSIVELY for Haunt but when they start charging $10 for the mazes suddenly all of the haunted houses are run-down run-of-the-mill boring snoozefests that aren't worth a nickel out of your pocket. If that's the case, why did you buy a pass just to go? Some of the biggest complainers I know were among the first to buy that pass LOL
  3. Case in point - charging to park and never filling in the potholes
  4. Yeah, we would all love to know that number. But given the rumor that season long FL sales are now uncapped (and based on the lines the past few years on busy Saturdays and Haunt Saturdays, one would probably agree they are not capped), one would have expected this money grab to be uncapped as well. Unless they truly do plan to keep the lines minimal and the attraction top notch. I guess we find out in a little over a month! But I am sure the procrastinators that were going to buy this are now ticked!
  5. For all those complaining that the upcharge was stupid and would fail, the season long option is now sold out....
  6. Sure, and I see people pay for parking, but we never see the potholes fixed Putting on Winterfest is a major expense for 20 something days.
  7. Don't give them any ideas LOL. Imagine the comments if they now made Winterfest an add-on or meal and drink plans not valid after Labor Day. Sadly Six has already done the Labor Day thing to meal plans in the past, so I could see that happen.
  8. Sure, but when they added 20ish something days to the calendar for Winterfest and never adjusted the season pass price to accommodate those extra days, it is now taking your pass price and spreading it over more days. The lights ain't free. If the daily admits have steadily dropped over time and it is mainly passholders and meal plans coming, how can that pay for all of Winterfest? I have said here before Winterfest doesn't make as much as people think and would be surprised if it stuck around longer than the original version. One bad winter and it is money loser. I think they would be more inclined to cancel Winterfest and extend the season thru November. That way if a weekend sucks, they just don't open or close early and haven't spent a lot of money, whereas a bad winter after spending all the time and money to put up the lights can't afford to close a weekend or early.
  9. That was great. It is awesome to hear stories folks never heard about.
  10. Fast Lane to bankruptcy
  11. And people think I am crazy when I say that KD could be one of the sacrificed parks from Six Flags....all the signs are there...but it is a nice park and of size and potential that could be lumped in with the smaller parks they want to shed as a way to encourage higher bids.
  12. Oh they already are showing up ....or are they getting pulled out of storage to scrap them
  13. Also remember that 4 board seats have already changed out with people from outside of either legacy chain, so we are not too many more seats removed from the majority not being from CF or SIX legacy...the next round of board replacements (whenever that happens) will be telling as to the direction.
  14. Case in point - the golf course across the street once had two 18-hole championship courses and a 9 hole executive (par 3) course. It is now one 18 hole golf course with the prior courses now houses/condos/etc. and a parking lot for a 2-week tennis tournament!
  15. To pull a phrase from the Six Flags quarterly conference calls, I am going to add some additional color to your comments LOL. The greater Cincinnati region (tri-state) is 2.3 million people. Santa Claus Indiana where Holiday World is located is 2,600 population. Mason High School is 3,500 population. There are more people at one local high school than the entire town of Santa Claus IN. That is why a place like HW needs bigger and better attractions and needs outsiders more than 45 minutes away to be successful. KI doesn't. The Mason stay home mom with 3 kids isn't going to load the kids up in the minivan to HW 3-4 times per week. Maybe a one trip per year or every couple of years. But she sure as heck will do that to go to KI. And anyone really within a 45-60min drive of KI. KI fits that bill.
  16. Took so long to get it going, the return window for the wheels is long gone, so might as well use them up
  17. First you said guaranteed it was a new ride and now you say likely...that is a big difference... I am just pointing out an early closure could be just that - it could be a repair coming up they don't want to spend and nothing is planned. Likelihood is it is some sort of new attraction, but it isn't guaranteed at this point until we see an announcement or something else other than a closure. But at the same time, given the pass sale and everything else going on, why wouldn't they take advantage of this notice with a simple "being closed to make way for something new in 2026"? Maybe it is just poor marketing 101 or they don't have anything planned.
  18. What if there is an expensive fix on the horizon and they are concerned about the ride working until end of December and nothing is planned? Didn't many people think Vortex had a planned replacement....
  19. Have you seen the Warren County Master Plan and land-use report showing the best and highest use of the property or are you just speculating? Keep in mind just across the street, golf courses that operated year round were removed because it can make more money for 2 weeks as a non-paved parking lot for a tennis tournament...There was a time they would just fence off the greens and tee boxes and have cars park in the fairway for those 2 weeks. Your speculation may be correct or it may always remain KI, but land development can be weird, and if a developer offered Six Flags the right number, any park could be gone...just like many of the golf courses surrounding KI that have been turned into high end subdivisions, Kroger, other retail, etc.
  20. And yet look how many complaining on FB that they bought a 2025 pass a week before the sale...
  21. When they made mazes an upcharge
  22. Today guests are treated to 1 of 3 sides at the Brewhouse at no charge - tots, coleslaw, or grapes. Here today, gone tomorrow?
  23. If it is not going to open next year, then why eliminate this year an indoor attraction for Haunt and Winterfest unless there is some imminent issue that they don't think it will last until end of December? That would give them roughly 15 months if it is a 2027 attraction.
  24. Let's play devils advocate. What if the public outcry and attendance drop is so bad they decide to revert back to the old way during the season - will they refund this pass add-on? I personally think that even despite the public outcry, these add on charges will still sell and will be successful and thus justifying to the board to consider upselling more things in the future. Then the question becomes when is too much?
  25. I would assume by them calling the mazes premium experiences requiring separate admission, that this includes passholders having to pay for these as well, especially since there is a pass add-on now for the mazes.
