  1. ^as Terpy used to say, they already have your money and must figure the money made by non drink passes isn't enough to justify more open.
  2. https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/power-outage-impacts-kings-island-some-rides-closed-until-power-is-restored
  3. If we don't hear it on the Q2 call, I think we would certainly hear them loud and clear if Six Flags doesn't follow thru on the planned $1B in capital improvements that was previously announced.
  4. Didn't take long for this to happen LOL Stuck on Tilt
  5. There is a reason why the chain doesn't publish the per park attendance numbers....
  6. I wonder how many were daily purchases versus season long....
  7. We had them....they became the Fast Lane line. And apparently the single rider line trial during Winterfest didn't work and they went back to making them Fast Lane.
  8. It is clear in recent years that their approach to new attractions doesn't care when they open and they seem to have no problem with stuff opening well beyond the season opener, so that could impact some of what we see, but based on the list below, typically park goers would have seen some evidence of some of these new attractions by now - either permits, land clearing, etc. How many of these below have you seen their respective park fan social media sites talking about seeing any activity towards these?
  9. Sounds like a good buy or sell topic for the podcast if they haven't done that yet LOL.
  10. Bankruptcy will likely be the answer to get out of the monster debt they are in.
  11. That just look the other way like they do with all the stealing of people sneaking thru exits to refill...
  12. It has been 3 trains more times than not.
  13. I guess the new trend is to let the media announce personnel changes LOL. In addition, Tony Clark, Cedar Point’s longtime director of communications, is now also heading up public relations for Kings Island. https://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/2025/06/six-flags-2025-layoffs-will-cedar-points-service-standards-suffer.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawLE-7tleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETA4SlNQQU4zRlpYSjFmbzJ2AR6-bxIfMM3XbuaLSppiijlSSFaox-KzaA_OML31-buZfrvFYACgflANHSWc3Q_aem_eEwwBoIbhSA3N751b4GpUw
  14. Especially when KD closed earlier this season for a storm that never happened yet they opened for an influencer group...
  15. People have tried, but the stand wasn't open
  16. ^There certainly seems to be a larger than normal closure of parks this year than in the past. So far KI and CP have escaped most of them. I think Soak City didn't open once and closed early twice and the main park closed early once, but Carowinds, KD, and several legacy Six Flags parks made early decisions to close, in some cases based on weather that didn't happen. But yes, they will spin it with something like this LOL: In the second quarter of 2025, Six Flags demonstrated its continued commitment to providing world-class entertainment and memorable experiences for our guests, despite facing some unforeseen external challenges. While attendance and guest spending were impacted by a combination of adverse weather conditions, seasonal cicada swarms, and regional forest fires, we remain confident in the long-term strength of our brand and our ability to adapt and thrive through these circumstances and have positive momentum going into Q3. While we experienced a decrease in both overall attendance and per capita spending, we attribute much of this to the unexpected weather disruptions and environmental events that significantly impacted park visitation during critical months. We view these challenges as temporary, and our ongoing efforts to enhance the guest experience, diversify our offerings, and build greater resilience will position us for a strong recovery in the second half of the year. Key Accomplishments: Exciting New Attractions & Experiences: Our recent investment in new rides and attractions, has generated excitement and early positive feedback from park guests. These new experiences will continue to drive future visitation as conditions improve. Adaptation to Weather & Environmental Challenges: Despite unusually severe weather conditions and the disruptions caused by cicada swarms and regional forest fires, our teams worked tirelessly to ensure that our parks remained safe, clean, and enjoyable for all visitors. We are proud of the resilience demonstrated by our employees and the strong efforts we made to protect the guest experience. Expansion of Digital Engagement & Services: We have accelerated our digital transformation initiatives, including upgrades to the Six Flags app, enhanced mobile reservations, and virtual queue systems, which have improved operational efficiency and offered guests more convenience and flexibility. These efforts will continue to pay dividends as we focus on the growing importance of digital channels in the entertainment industry. Outlook: Looking ahead, we are confident in the strong foundation we’ve built and the exciting developments on the horizon. As we enter the second half of the year, we expect favorable weather conditions and a reduction in environmental disruptions to contribute to an increase in park visitation and guest spending. Our focus on creating exceptional guest experiences, introducing new attractions, and enhancing the overall value proposition will drive strong performance in the coming months. Conclusion: While Q2 presented some unique challenges, we are optimistic about the future of Six Flags. Our ability to adapt to changing conditions, our commitment to innovation, and our dedication to providing fun, safe, and memorable experiences will ensure that we emerge stronger in the second half of the year. We remain excited about the potential for growth in the second half of 2025 and beyond. We would like to thank our loyal guests, team members, and shareholders for their continued support as we navigate these challenges and look toward a promising future.
  17. As Terpy used to say often "they have your money"... But that list above isn't completely accurate...yet...unless that is the plan starting in July.
  18. ICEE machine in new drink stand in Action Zone is broke. ICEE/drink stand by Diamondback is out of season long drink cups and super refuses to honor drink plan with the larger cups. They already got your money.... What can guest services do - certainly won't refund your season long drink plan. Best you will get is an apology. Caveat Emptor Buy your silver pass with the free drink plan....
  19. Juke Box has silently returned the Patty Melt to the menu. And they have been serving a clearly not a footlong hotdog in a footlong foil package...false advertising or bait and switch lol
  20. As long as their events continue to "sell out", they feel there is no reason to market it.... They feel it is better to have you mad you missed it because you didn't know about it than have you mad because they marketed it and you made a special trip and missed it because it sold out.... Their method creates what they like to call a sense of urgency that you should be at the park for fear of missing out of something they decide to do and announce day of...
  21. I think if they were mad at wage decreases, they wouldn't be stubborn about not giving larger cups....it would be the exact opposite - they wouldn't care about saving KI money and would give away larger cups, give you the ICEE cups for the ICEE drink plan, give you another side when hush puppies are out, etc. In this instance, that was a directive told to the employee and the employee being newer was following the instructions provided to them. It is only after getting yelled at by guests enough times that they say screw it and give away the larger cups. It isn't costing the employee anything and saving a lot of f bombs being dropped on them.
  22. Heard today: No wonder they gave away the drink plan, they have no ice or cola. I'd be ticked if I paid for that.
  23. And what is the next step when that is done and still denied....and what does guest services really do in that situation for a season pass holder - promise to do better next time?....
  24. Is the sponsor new for the 4th fireworks lol All-American thrills are waiting for you at Kings Island as we celebrate Star-Spangled Nights presented by M&M’S https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/star-spangled-nights
