I would think some things that would alarm guest would be kept under wrap. Like a broken cart axle, or cracked cart frame wouldn’t be disclosed to the public. Anything that would make the ride seem unsafe wouldn’t be disclosed at all. I’d imagine the same would’ve been done for Fury325 if it had been caught by the park first.

I wish Cedar Fair being cashless adopted something similar to Magic Bands at Disney. Sunblock provided in Soak City like HW or at the minimum provided inside the VIP lounge. Water fountains in the queue line like BG. Haunt Thursdays like CP. More behind the scenes tours that can be booked like BG.

This is an interesting way to do it. At Disney there is a separate counter to walk up to, to receive your mobile order. I’m curious to how this can work on a busy day, especially if people don’t arrive on time, and they run out of food lockers. I guess at that point they will no longer take mobile orders till lockers free up?

I don’t think having one train in operation is something the park is trying to do in order to save money. I’m guessing this is mainly a maintenance issue, especially on a busy days. However, I will say some coasters benefit having less trains in operation on slower days. Empty seats means the ride Ops themselves have to push down the lap bars and buckle the seatbelts, only to have to undo them when the train returns to the station. This although doesn’t seem like it would take a lot of time, once you factor in multiple empty seats it begins to add up and starts to create stacking of trains.

I’m surprised this hasn’t been done by more amusement parks.

Being that the space is in between themed areas the options are limitless other than space. Remove Congo falls and build a new and improved version of it. Call it Kenton’s Cove Keelboat Canal and have it tie into Rivertown. They can also leave room to add a couple of flats to Coney Mall section of the park.

You keep saying I’m defending the KI Comms Director. Since I’m such avid fan of his have you ever seen a post by me were I am praising him? I am only making an observation from what I have seen and by the comments that were made. Maybe Chris should elaborate on what he meant by “Can’t say the same for Chad, who for some reason remains” Constructive criticism is important however there are better ways to go about it than having an attitude, name calling and or mocking about it. Also let’s not act like there weren’t times “the park” ( Don ) asked for post to be removed and at times it was done. Isn’t that the same thing as kissing butt? You however do those things in order to keep relations. Why should it be any different with any other big wig representative with the park? As far as people being blocked as Nemo pointed out in his post he was blocked by Kings Island PR for asking a “simple question” in 2019, which would have been by Don. Like I’ve stated before nobody is perfect, and some of the mistakes being pointed out currently is just nitpicking. I was hoping for our 20th year as a forum we would be able to make amends and do something special with the park.

I don’t have any sources other than the posts and comments that have been made. As an outsider, it appears that the social media complaints about PR at KI had a role in Don “leaving” And the complaints outside of Chad’s personal twitter fell under Don’s responsibility per the KI bio. per King’s Island: "Don Helbig serves as Kings Island's area manager, digital marketing. An experienced storyteller, Don manages the content for the park's website, mobile app, blog, and social media. " Chris obviously wasn’t the only person that complained but the fact that Chris posted a comment on here stating “Can’t say the same for Chad, who for some reason remains” is telling. Key phase “for some reason remains” in his statement. Now why would Chris use the phrase “for some reason remains”? Sounds to me like he knew Don got fired. How would he know Don got fired unless he and some others were actively trying to get someone in trouble which later we come to find out the real target was Chad. Either way debating me won’t fix the guilt, and name calling and getting Chad fired isn’t going to get Don his job back. If anything it makes those that are apart of groups such as the Attractions Group, Coaster Crew, FB Fan groups and or our beloved forum look like something Cedar Fair would not want to collaborate with.

Well there is like 6 hotel / resorts around CP that are conveniently owned by CF. That may be a reason they need to get the word out to the world. Those rooms aren’t gonna fill themselves.

I thought a lot of people in the FB group that gave you grief about that post you made about Don with them saying it was written like an obituary simply didn’t understand that it was an obituary for his career with CF, not him as a person.

Unless they were actively involved in trying to get something changed or in this case removed. Sounds like Chris clearly knew Don got fired. I’m not defending Chad because I know the guy personally or get any favors from him. Im “defending” him because of how horrible it makes our forum look trying to actively have people removed from their jobs over petty stuff. That is wrong on so many levels.

Well considering Chad just now assumed Don’s responsibilities with Don’s departure maybe he was never the point of contact for any of the above things you mentioned. Let’s not confuse roles and responsibilities based off a person’s title at work. A FB group got that mixed up and well, Don is no longer with the park. Also If you would, I’d like for you to answer my question about your motive with this campaign. Or would you prefer me to DM you first instead?

I guess I didn’t ask that question properly. I’m more or less trying to figure out what is your angle. What is the motive behind this smear campaign? I’ve seen you edit one of your post most recently with the topic about SoB, and you’re apart of the Attractions Group. Should you too be mocked because of it? Also Don wasn’t perfect either during his tenure as Kings Island PR, that doesn’t mean he was any less of a person because of it. Look, I know passions are high and Don will be missed. But with new beginnings gives us new opportunities to mend the relationship with our beloved park. Which is the reason why we are all here. Let’s build new bridges, not burn what’s left down. We are KIC! . . Not some backstabbing FB group.

Seaworld Orlando completely re painted Mako, a B&M hyper coaster that’s an airtime machine like Diamondback in 6 weeks. CP was the only park that got a Zamperla installation completed and opened on time. It makes you wonder..

I agree, but I also don’t have any guilt either therefor I still visit the park weekly as usual.
