Working Drop Tower, kid asks “Has someone died on this ride?” I reply, “No”. Another kid says “Yeah but someone has on is Son of Beast” and I promptly replied, “No, that’s also false”. They looked so confused.

Not necessarily a say, but a do...

While I was driving Vortex during the last hour of operation today, I saw a puff of smoke (or vape?) come up from a train I was bringing in. For the first time ever, I spieled "Just a friendly reminder that smoking is not allowed on any ride here at Kings Island...yep, I saw that!"

The culprit had an "oops, you caught me" look as he exited. At least he was a good sport about it.

I heard a guest say Vortex was the smoothest Coaster at the park. Maybe he was talking about Carowinds or CW?

Did they ever have people dressed up in the fake houses around the train? A woman told her son that last night, I really didn't think that was true but until I moved to KY I hadn't been to KI since 1979.

Not inside them I don't think (there's not really insides to most) but they did use to have live performers early on.

Yeah she specifically said inside and with them being facades I found that hard to believe. She said something else but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was and it was something good.

I remember when I was little, there was a 30 on The Beast sign and I mistook for "3D" and I said "Is this ride in 3D? I don't want to ride it if it is"  thinking about that just cracks me up

Walking it of Reds today, some feller asked his friend, “Hey, let’s go ride Mysterious Timbers!” They high fives each other and took off for the entrance.

When I was riding Great Pumpkin Coaster with my niece earlier, a kid in front of us was saying that GPC is a "mini Banshee".

When getting in line for TTD the guys in front of us watched a train launch and then says, "It doesn't go that fast."

The dumbfounded look I gave him had to be priceless.

They're enthusiasts, after you've been on so many coasters they all seem slow anymore.  I know ttd seemed so much faster in 2003 than it does now.

I always forget how fast TTD is until I ride it... when I rode it a few weeks ago,my first ride of the trip on it (on that Monday) was too instense! The second ride on Tuesday evening wasn't as bad.

In line for Firehawk on Saturday and a guest watching the queue TV states that the video playing is showing Cedar Point when the park was clearly Carowinds.  The video even labeled the park as such.

I saw a queue TV part on the ride waits and it shows the wait of KI's Backlot that's labeled on the video as Canada's Wonderland's while in actuality being KD's Backlot.

Not sure 2 minutes constitutes a monopoly, but...been there, done that.

Not a guest but a ride op...

We were riding AE last week and as we were pulling out of the station, the ride op said, "See you back here in about 2 minutes, unless we don't.  We lost a train last week."

My parents as well as all the coworkers I talked to about this still think Kentucky Kingdom is operated by SIX.

This Saturday I overheard a kid tell his friends, when discussing where to sit on The Racer, that the Red Racer is always faster.  He had reasons and explained them but I didn't hear them. 

 

Smoother, maybe, but not faster:)

While in line for Diamondback a few weeks ago, I over heard a gentleman tell his lady friend that this used to be the stand-up ride (King Cobra). To his credit they are both snake themed.

In my experience this season, Red Racer is faster, winning each race by quite a bit. They usually end up fiddling with the trims throughout the season, so that may change.

Yeah, for some reason, Red beats Blue to the lift and that pretty much determines the race right there.

On The Racer does the race end at the brake run in the tunnel or when the operator hits the upbar?  My wife and I have had this argument a few times.
