ohiocoasterfan
That area they were digging on definitely looks to be a pad where our crane will go. It looks perfectly smoothed out. via wildgravitytravels
Kodistict
I'm going to Kings Island tomorrow, I will try to do that trick with the telescope that @BoddaH1994 suggested and will get nice zoomed it pics of the construction.
DeltaFlyer
Here are some photos of the crane in the parking lot. It is a Liebherr 1750, rated at a maximum of 750 tons and a height of 633 feet. Source This is Clifford. Or, one of the Cliffords.
Hawaiian Coasters 325
Clifford usually looks like this. The crane parked at KI doesn't currently have that on it. Source: https://images.app.goo.gl/J9N4MW8NMfVrR7ABA

Separate truckloads will deliver the lattice structure, boom, winches, and counterweights. That unit in the lot is basically the equivalent of the turntable and crawler tracks of a tracked unit only on a wheeled chassis. CedarIslander
One of the benefits of waking up early is I got to see someone with a flashlight walking up Racers lift hill! Sounds lame, but I was fascinated. lol 2
Hawaiian Coasters 325
This doesn't have anything to do with Orion, but with cranes. Fun fact: the person who did the crane for WindSeeker and Invertigo used to go to my church and we knew him well! His name is Keith Irwin.

jensenracing77
Question on assembly, When they bolt two pieces of track together, do they weld the smaller tubes together that the wheels roll on and then grind them down? Are they male and female and slip together? Never thought about that before but I am assuming that with them painted all ready, they are not welding them? If not welded, how do they keep water from getting inside? Would love to know the more specific details of how things go together

To make them identical to the C.H.A.O.S. building. Notice the gray bottom third of the middle building. I like how they are going for thematic consistency for the area, even backstage.

I think every building in that area is being painted to match the new “Area 72” theming that FoF already has.
Hawaiian Coasters 325
I wonder if they'll use that backstage area for overflow queue for Orion on opening weekend.

I heard opening day for Banshee the overflow queue went all the way back to the Eiffel Tower , and I’m guessing the overflow queue will be this: 2
MDMC01
Good to hear @LovinMeSomeBanshee! I asked as I'm in there this year- it's my first year as a Scareactor and so far, it's been great!
KI FANATIC 37
Im not sure which opening day line was worse, Banshee or Diamondback. I remember waiting by the Festhaus house for Banshee on opening day. They also had a ton of temporary queue back between Delirium and Banshee too.
