Camp Snoopy Arrives in 2024 at Kings Island

I wouldn't say that it doesn't get affected by water....it's often down anytime it rains, though that could be the CP rain policy. I'd rather see a different ride in place of Surf Dog...doesn't do great with capacity, seems like it valleys more often than not, the floor has had issues rising to the gondola, etc.

I mentioned this on another thread…

I heard somewhere that Pipe Scream doesn’t get affected by water like Surf Dog does. If this is true, would it be a wise investment to get an updated Surf Dog to combat its downtime?

Surf Dog is a 17-year-old "roller coaster" with pretty bad reliability. I say that KI should update Surf Dog, as you suggested, and retheme it to fit into Camp Snoopy. Either that, or remove it and replace it with a few smaller kiddie flat rides.

I love the ride itself so would hate to see it go, but if they could replace it with either a more reliable version there or elsewhere in the park as just a new general Flat ride I’d be happy.

It was built for Nickelodeon Splat City. It was the Gak Kitchen.

My first job at PKI.  Can't even begin to tell how many whipped cream pies and gallons of slime I made there.  Sad to see the final remnant of the Gak Kitchen and Slime Truck disappear.

Sorry for Double post. As soon as SSBR was announced I almost immediately thought that we wouldn’t see a new coaster in 2025 because CF wouldn’t put a new coaster in back to back years. But I have been thinking, in 2023 Cedar Point opened Wild Mouse with a new area upgrade. Then they added Top Thrill 2 in 2024. Both additions from Zamperla. In 2024 Kings Island is getting a smaller coaster with a new area upgrade. What if KI got a package deal with Vekoma for a new coaster in 2025 just like CP? I think 2026 or 2027 is still very likely I just wanted to point out that I wouldn’t rule it out yet.

It's possible, but I doubt it's going to be for 2025. I'm about 70% certain that 2025 is going to be for Soak City.

Yeah that's my prediction too unfortunately. I'm not a waterpark person so SC additions might as well be a nothing year for me. I mean at least the water park fans are happy. I'd much prefer to see a new gen vekoma or new dark ride (either boo blaster re-do or crypt building) in 2025.

Totally agree. Went to water park 1x this year. So wish it would be reconfigured as a stand alone gate so it would be its own revenue segment and they could use the gate fees to really improve it, give discounted price to dry park passholders, and not have to spread the live as much like now where it is just an “area” of the park.
