BeeastFarmer Posted Monday at 05:16 PM Posted Monday at 05:16 PM The ride looks really great. But, Six Flags, can you not invest in a decent microphone? Could you announcers have a little more enthusiasm? Quote

I felt bad for the staff who did the announcement. They seemed very nervous. Quote

silver2005 Posted Monday at 08:30 PM Posted Monday at 08:30 PM I wonder who is building it. Looks great though, they have really, really needed a water ride. Quote

KI Guy Posted Monday at 09:17 PM Posted Monday at 09:17 PM 2019 was the year of Carowinds' last major install* before this. Following that same timing that could mean 2028 is Kings Island's year for a major installation... which is an unprecedented wait, but hopefully it's over after next season. I wouldn't mind seeing one of these at Kings Island. I'd prefer it over anything from B&M. * major install meaning costly attraction. Everything post-2019 has been a cheaper install. Quote

Do we know what the price tag is for this? I'm sure the ride along with the proposed theming will cost a pretty penny. Idk if it costs as much as Copperhead or Fury did though. Also remember this ride was originally supposed to open this year, but was delayed along with other planned 2026 projects like Great Adventure Project Purple and Magic Mountain's thrill glider. It seems as if Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare, Tormenta, and Speedway Stunt Coaster were the only planned 2026 projects that moved forward. Shoreline Pier at GADV and Looney Tunes Land at MM were last minute additions. Also assuming 2028 is an off year for Carowinds, the earliest Carowinds will end their "big coaster drought" will be 10 years after Copperhead which is actually pretty unusual for a park the size of Carowinds especially since the corporate HQ is right next to it. I see people complaining all the time that KI hasn't gotten a big new coaster since Orion, but they're perfectly fine with Carowinds likely going 10 years between large coaster installations. While I don't like the whining and groaning that enthusiasts have against their home park not getting a new coaster every 3 years or so, I find it strange that Carowinds seems to be getting a pass for likely going 10 years between major coaster additions while a potential 8 year gap for KI is the end of the world and means Six Flags hates KI or what other silly claim butthurt fanboys will come up with lol. 1 Quote
Hawaiian Coasters 325 Posted Monday at 11:48 PM Posted Monday at 11:48 PM **DOUBLE POST** Watching the POV I really like the spinning buzzsaws in that little show building where the switch is in the middle of the ride. I've mentioned the idea of the shed on Mystic Timbers getting an upgrade. Imagine if as part of that upgrade when you enter the shed you have spinning buzzsaws like that over and around you along with sound and lighting effects that would eventually lead to an animatronic encounter or multiple animatronic encounters in the main show room of the shed. WoodVengeance Posted yesterday at 02:32 AM Posted yesterday at 02:32 AM This applies to both Rip Roarin' Falls and Werewolf Gorge. With the current "budget" of Six Flags, I'm wondering just how much of the theming presented in the ride animations are actually going to appear in the final products. Quote

In addition, Fury 325 made people happy for some time since it is the golden boy of B&M gigas and what Orion could have been with a bigger budget. 3) I've said similar things in the past, but I think the whining is pretty justified at this point. If we hold Kings Island to the standard of excellence it has always had, it is underperforming in many ways. Include in that standard is the frequency of major ride expenditures. We are customers after all, not a support group. 🙂 Quote
johnjniehaus Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago The new Carowinds ride looks very similar to the two flumes at the Walibi parks over in Netherlands/Belgium. I enjoyed both of those flumes and anticipate this being a great new addition for them Quote
Losantiville Mining Co. Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I think this is going to be a really good ride with lots of theming and some nice thrills. It's what Carowinds needed as well since they removed all three of the water rides in the dry park. I suspect they might open the second pathway entrance and possible restaurant later on after Six Flags gets more comfortable with their portfolio in its current state. It will also be interesting to see if Thrill Zone gets rethemed to fit in with RRF. I think Fury could mostly fit in as-is (it's themed to a hornet, it's not like it'd be impossible) and Hurler already needs to be helped. The biggest aspect that I'm curious to see how it turns out is the foliage. They won't have all of the mature trees shown in the POV since they tore most of them down with the Rip Roarin' Rapids demolition, but I'm hoping they can get a lot of new trees and foliage planted ASAP so it has time to grow in between now and next May. Having a log flume in a big open field doesn't sound very nice. Coaster enthusiasts are a loud minority, but a lot of people have been staring at The Vortex plot for the last 7 years wondering why something new hasn't gone there. Personally, I would not like to see a super flume go in Vortex's plot simply because I think it would take a lot of work to create a basin for the water. There's a chance I'd be more open to one if it was done well and themed like Coney Island's Cascades/Lost River shoot-the-chute ride. I don't know how well the super flume would work for that, but that (to me) would be better reasoning than building a new log flume just because it's a family ride. A new Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal between The Beast and Mystic Timbers would be a different story. That would be very welcome, especially if it weaves back into some of those trees without tearing too many torn down. Quote
