Holiday World Making a Big Splash in 2027 with Cannonball!

Featured Replies

Holiday World is making a big splash in 2027 with Cannonball!, the Midwest’s first water roller coaster. Combining the thrills of a roller coaster with the excitement of a flume ride, the 1,700-foot attraction will climb a 90-foot lift hill before plunging 75 feet—the tallest drop on any water roller coaster in the United States—and reaching speeds of up to 45 mph, making it the nation’s fastest water roller coaster. The family-friendly adventure ends with a dramatic splashdown in the Boulder Canyon Community Pool and will be open to guests at least 42 inches tall when accompanied by an adult. Will Cannonball! be on your must-ride list in 2027?

Really like the theme and the path interaction with this.  Creative way to use the water park as theming.

Glad to see a Mack Water Coaster finally come to the Midwest! The closest one as of right now is Journey to Atlantis at SeaWorld Orlando.

That was probably the most creative and fun announcement video I've ever seen and it's hard to top Banshee's announcement video. You can tell everyone had a great time making this video! I really hope those kids (and adults too) used in the video get the first ride on it when it opens!

Great announcement and very creative!

My family and I are looking forward to riding it next year!

For those who have expressed concern about Mr Craig - thank you. He is coping well.

I love the creativity they put into this and how they snuck the actual announcement in as a "commercial". I have a feeling HoliWood Nights tickets will be even more of a hot commodity next year than they already are.

I mean is it the most heavily themed water coaster? No if you are comparing to Journey to Atlantis or Vliegende Hollander at Efteling. However, still a very welcome unique addition to the park. I love the competition between Holiday World and Kentucky Kingdom as it pushes both parks to be the best versions of themselves.

I was honestly hoping for a larger version of this as the replacement for the big metal box in Rivertown (to pay homage to KCKC), one with an additional lift and splash.

This ride is costing Holiday World $22 million, so I would imagine a larger version of that would cost Kings Island at least $25 million, maybe even over $30 million which would make it more expensive than Orion. I think realistically if we get a new water ride, it would be something like what Carowinds is getting with Rip Roarin' Falls.

I think I'd much rather see a super flume like RRF in Rivertown if the area gets a more intense ride. It feels like something that families could do together (and would balance the park's needs if The Vortex successor is a high-thrill coaster).
