  2. I believe that's how many times your content has been "liked", though I'm not sure how the new reactions thing fits into that. @malem or @Dane can probably explain it in more detail.
  3. I'm not a Haunt person, but have vague memories of visiting the original Winterfest at least once as a kid. Looking forward to visiting Winterfest this season.
  4. Speaking of renewals, if any of you signed up for the auto-renewal feature, keep an eye on your email. I got an email from them the other day saying they needed my billing info (I paid with PayPal last year so they didn't have my card info) and that I needed to sign the payment agreement thing. I did all that today and am good to go when it starts taking payments out for next year. It will automatically renew your drink and dining plans as well.

  6. I doubt there's a connection, as the timeline for Twisted Timbers is earlier than that of Mystic Timbers.
  7. Here's the full facts sheet which lists all the records. I definitely see a trip to Branson in my future... https://sdc.silverdollarcity.com/sitepages/2018/site/ride-facts.pdf
  8. I wouldn't. I've got better things to spend $500 on Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
  9. It looks like Carowinds is getting a Planet Snoopy expansion for next year. They've been dropping clues using the hashtag "SnoopyPresents2018" on Twitter the past few days... https://twitter.com/hashtag/SnoopyPresents2018?src=hash
  10. Possibly, but that would require a lot of testing during the off-season and there's no guarantee that would work at all, especially given the age of Vortex.
  11. The dreaded "EX0" error is back when I try to view The Vortex Poll topic.
  12. Waldameer is adding a Zamperla balloon ride and ProSlides Cannonball 30 tube slide for 2018: http://www.goerie.com/news/20170813/erie-park-to-open-two-new-rides-in-2018 I didn't spend any time in the water park when I was at Waldameer last year, but it seemed to be quite popular, and both attractions should be a great addition to the park.
  13. It's the heart icon in the lower right corner
  14. Unfortunately I've only gotten to see Cirque once this season as most of my visits have been on Wednesdays. I might try to get up there for a final show on the 20th though. I will be up there again on Wednesday to celebrate National Rollercoaster Day and see the sports show.
  15. I really don't see them as that much less safe than your standard permanent amusement park rides. The companies that put on these shows have to have good safety records in order to make money. There are also thousands of fairs, church festivals, etc. across the country each year with portable rides, and there are rarely any accidents involving the rides. I rode the rides at the Kenton County Fair earlier this year and will probably ride the ones at the Boone County Fair when I go tomorrow night.
  16. I've been planning on going to Hersheypark on my vacation next year (two full days to get the most out of the park). Looks like I might have to check out their water park while I'm there...
  17. My guess is it's something related to Winterfest.
  18. Here's all the technical details about the ride: http://www.kmg.nl/kmg/factory/afterburner_en.html
  19. Here's more info on the inspection process, including a video of the ride in question being inspected in 2012. http://nbc4i.com/2017/07/26/ride-inspections-at-the-ohio-state-fair/
  20. Cedar Point will be making an announcement at "high noon" on the 16th. From CoasterForce on FB: Link for Tapatalk users: https://www.facebook.com/CoasterForce/photos/a.57182843638.69352.48452768638/10154699576733639/?type=3&theater
  21. The latest in Coaster Studios' hilarious "Coaster Parody" series...
  22. I haven't seen that anywhere in the park this year. My guess is it wasn't a big seller. I never saw many people at what used to be Snake Pit when they were selling it.
  23. My sister and I saw one way out on the east side of town somewhere last month as well, though I don't remember where (it was out along Beechmont as I recall).
  24. Since I finally had the day off for the 4th for the first time in years, I decided I was long overdue for a return trip to Stricker's Grove. My sister and brother-in-law decided to join me as well. We got up there probably around 3 or 3:30. Even though my niece can't ride very much and my brother-in-law isn't much of a rides person, we decided to spring for rides wristbands for them as well. We all had a great time and the fireworks were great for being a small show at a family-owned park. Despite the large crowds we still got rides on everything except the scooters (ran out of time) and Tornado (went down while we were in line for it). This is the first time I've been back since I went up there during the 4H fair a few years ago. It was nice to finally get to ride the Pirate Ship and they've also added a Mozer's Spring Ride (think Scream Machine at Coney) since I was there last as well. The other major change is that they upgraded the drive system on their Ferris Wheel - instead of the standard cable drive system, they've got some fancy computerized direct-drive system, installed to apparently make it easier to operate (and also apparently much to the amusement of someone in the rides department at Coney). The weather itself was perfect, and we lucked out in that the only major rain came while we were getting dinner - the heaviest while we were actually paying for our food - so we didn't get very wet at all. We all had a great time and I won my niece a small purple stuffed stingray at the bowling game in the arcade (we all purchased tokens with the intention of winning a prize for her - I just happened to get lucky and got it on my second try). Total ride count: 2x carousel, 2x (for both me and my sister) Kiddie Whip, 2x Train, once on everything else. Attached photos: first two show an old CP Huntington locomotive and tubs from some random ride, last three show the new drive system on the Ferris Wheel.
