Many who go to Kings Island end up with the solid red arms. Not a fan? Terp, who likes to ask questions.8 points

The 2015 park map calls it Shake, Rattle, & Roll. I would take that as a yes! https://www.visitkingsisland.com/images/uploads/file/2015%20Map.jpg6 points

For those of you who do not know, here is where the name almost certainly came from. I really like the name by the way.4 points

Think a Soak City expansion is much needed. We could definitely use at least a new slide tower if not a few big new slides.4 points

Three maintenance guys are driving in a truck through Soak City. Guy A: You know there are people who stare at the webcams all day that will freak out if they think something is going on. Guy B: Really, why would they do that? It's just annual maintenance. Guy C: Yeah, but we could really get them talking if we just stop in front of the webcam, get out, and talk for a minute.4 points

Manby is awesome and I love the way he led Herschend. He's got some major hurdles to overcome with this company, and I wish him all the best. I do wonder why you would leave what he had for this mess of a company.3 points

Terp. Don't do this to me. Don't do it. I haven't gotten over the loss of this ride. I don't know if I ever will. Don't go dropping random hints to make me pointlessly optimistic all over again. Just don't.2 points

I'm pretty sure the park still has SOME of the cars from both sets, via Google Maps, and the fact they were using a car from the "lightweight" blue train as a "crashed coaster" prop last year (along with some cars from the also-defunct Jetson's Jet Orbiters ride). I'm also pretty sure the old trains had the same use at one point as well, if I recall.2 points

The SR&R cars look sweet, but I'm not a fan of the solid red arms.2 points

Which also means that it is the same amount of time to my wedding. My wedding day is on KI opening day. So between the rehearsal dinner the night before and my wedding itself, I will not make it to KI opening day for the first time in many, many years. I have gone to every opening day since maybe 1999! But this is a very important reason not to make it to opening day. And then I will leave bright and early on Sunday morning for an eight day honeymoon out in California. (And yes, roller coasters will be involved out there, including a visit to Knott`s Berry Farm and Disneyland!)2 points

The Fairly Odd Coaster was one of the best names for that ride. It's a play! On words! That name was also Paramount's doing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Looks nice. Can't believe that it was that tacky green color all those years. Are they keeping the same name? Shake, Rattle, & Roll never really made sense to me; then again, "Fairly Odd Coaster" never did either.1 point

I agree with a lot of what has already been said. I'm not going to base my decision to ride on the color of the ride. But for a ride with super faded paint or that it clearly hasn't been touched up, I can see where it might be a bit worrisome to some riders. I do appreciate a nice color combination. I tend to prefer the blue, green, purple, white and silver colors in general. I do wonder how different some rides look to those that are colorblind, especially the blue and green rides.1 point

Eh, I don't know I was kind of partial to the '70s colors. I'm glad it's back though.1 point

Looks like a new queue/entry way as well as new concrete everywhere! Yay! Hope they didn't chop out the pine trees....1 point

Definitely better than the puke green. Hopefully it will compliment the colors of the nearby Juke Box Diner. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Hey, I don't blame you. Going to Kings Island is very nice, but some things are more important. What you're doing on opening day? Yeah, that's a lot more important that KI opening day. And hey- you will be riding coasters on your honeymoon in California. That sounds like it'll be awesome. And congratulations on the whole thing.1 point

Well, most of what I could say has already been said, so I'll just confirm on some points: #1- While it may not affect the quality of the ride, for visual aspects, yes color is VERY important. Especially if said ride is going tower over the park or something. #2- Some paintjobs are great fresh, but need maintaned...or else. For example, Vortex here at Kings Island IMO has a great paintjob, but when it was neglected for quite a long time in the late 90's, by 2000...it looked horrible. Thankfully that problem was easily fixed with a new paintjob. And also... #3- Certain colors should be mixed with other colors, otherwise the ride will look horrible. There will be an example of this later in this post. And now, some of my personal favorite paintjobs... Afterburn @ Carowinds Silver Track and Blue Supports on an inverted or suspended coaster is ALWAYS a good combo in my book. This ride shows it off perfectly. With both this and Fury 325, Carowinds will have some pretty pretty coasters in 2015. Other rides have also had this paintjob, and they look often as good, but I'm just going to use this one example here. Millennium Force @ Cedar Point The "inverted" (LOLZ) version of the color scheme is also gorgeous IMO...granted MF has white supports, but it's close enough. Other coasters also have this color scheme too of course, but I'm just using the most famous example... Blue Streak @ Cedar Point Cedar Fair seems to know some good color choices IMO, even if they do over-use red (due to being over-used, no red coasters will appear here even though I don't really mind it though). Blue Streak is the first woodie to appear here, and the slight hint of blue in the supports and blue track make it just that much prettier than your average wooden coaster. Now for some exceptions to the rule of "you need more than 1 color" (mostly)... Batman: The Ride (original paintjob) @ SF Great America OK so there is SOME gold track. But it's 99% all-black. While most color schemes would be painful to look at like this, All Black just makes a coaster look more intimidating. And said gold track is an awesome touch. The new paintjob isn't bad, but compared to THIS... Woodstock Express @ Kings Island It's a bit easier to get away with an all-one-color paintjob with a wooden coaster- with some exceptions. The natural browns usually work for them, but Woodstock Express here shows off how pretty a nice all-light-blue can be. I love the "official" color name too...Blue Ice Cream... Also it should be obvious by now what my favorite color is... And now, one of the few paint schemes I have seen that made me cringe...prepare yourself for... T3 @ Kentucky Kingdom (Pic from: http://www.coaster2coaster.com/) MY EYES!!! Seriously, this one looked 100x better in all black...TOO MUCH RED!!! EVEN Cedar Fair WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND DIS!!! Well, I hope you all enjoyed this post. Save the last part. I'm so sorry. But I had to include a bad one, and that one came to mind...1 point
-
It depends on the coaster IMO. With smaller rides, you can get away with about anything. With rides that stick out in a park's skyline, well...I'd rather not see something that doesn't mesh. SFMM's X in its original pink and yellow comes to mind. The most eccentric paint job goes easily to this. Dragon @ Ocean Park in Hong Kong. Picture courtesy of RCDB.com. Link1 point

Sadly girls my age, and even some slightly younger are having sex with a guy because he winked, and said "I love you." In the end they normally end up with a broken heart, offering to do whatever they have to, in order for him to stay for another month, week, or even day. I'm lucky because my boyfriend and I have decided to wait until we're married. That's something that just doesn't happen much these days. Sent from my VS840 4G using Tapatalk1 point
