I don't think it had anything to do with quality. I think it had everything to do with operating costs, which is what the CEO said they'd be looking at when determining how to cut costs after the rough spring they had financially. Unless Flight Deck or Time Warp is pounding its way through umpteen wheels each season because of roughness, I wouldn't look for either to go anywhere. See also: HUSS Top Spins, all but one of which have disappeared from the Cedar Fair chain in the last handful of summers. I'm interested in seeing what happens to the other rides in the chain that would appear to have expensive upkeep costs, like Volcano at Kings Dominion, Sledgehammer at Wonderland, Xcelerator at Knott's, and so on.5 points

I’d theme to the Bengals but I’d be afraid the coaster would start out fast at the beginning of the season and then stall out before the final break-run near the end of the season.4 points

I'm no expert at what goes on at Wonderland behind the scenes, but in all of Wonderland's history, they have only dismantled one roller coaster so far. Flight Deck of course is not nearly as popular as it used to be. I mean within the Paramount era, arguably Top Gun was the star attraction of Canada's Wonderland right until Cedar Fair took over. I have a personal bias against Time Warp and personally would like to see it go, but I don't see it leaving anytime soon. I could be wrong, but I think out of newer rides, say from Paramount ownership onwards, only really Sledgehammer has long maintenance. Even so, it doesn't seem to have as many problems as a ride like WindSeeker does.....I even saw WindSeeker malfunction last Saturday. For the most part, Wonderland has made uncanny designs to fit more recent roller coasters in, sure the Skyrider was removed in 2014, but I wondered before, how such rides like Behemoth or Leviathan were possible to build without compromising rides. I'm sure Wonderland doesn't want to remove any more roller coasters unless they REALLY have to.3 points

If they do wind up scrapping it, do you think they will savor some parts and end up selling them as souvenirs? I know some parks do this, and it would be cool to get my hands on a wheel or something.3 points

I just got a notification from YouTube with Kings Island releasing a teaser for something called “The Swamp” I’m assuming this is a attraction at Haunt, but this is the first time I’m hearing of it! https://youtu.be/iOtc79eKfdE2 points

^ While speaking about the location for the coaster, Ed Hart says “both trains”. Nice to get some confirmation of two trains.1 point

I think the removal of Firehawk defines the bar for Cedar Fair's expectations for their major money making parks like Kings Island. Just makes you wonder about other parks that have low quality rides. Think about Canada's Wonderland and the coasters they have; Flight Deck and Timewarp seem like likely candidates for removal or relocation since they don't fit the mold for Cedar Fair standards. @MisterSG1, might be able to elaborate better on this.1 point

Maybe they intend to buy a car that uses the recycled track in its construction.1 point

Firehawk is going to end up as material for another coaster. Its not worth re-locating for any park, even within the chain.1 point

Rivertown for sure. Love the look with the building near Beast and around Diamondback with the corral front and gift shop and then log flume across the plaza with MT entry next to it. Plus great rides with Beast, DB, and MT along with WWC. Would like to see more thematic buildings added (change the appearance of Reds and the Crypt building mostly.) love Oktoberfest too for what’s there but needs to be bigger. But the trees and pond with the Festhaus is nice.1 point

I have one and only one problem with this coaster. "Let's make a fun little wooden coaster for families to enjoy together" "Great idea!" "But give it a name that, when Googled, turns up almost exclusively alcoholic cocktails" Brilliant.1 point

Took what could end up being my final ride on Firehawk tonight. It was a bit sadder than I expected it to be. It was never one of my most favorite rides in the park, but I've always liked it. I just hated waiting in line for it. These last few seasons when lines have tended to be short, I've really grown to like the ride a lot. It will be very dearly missed. I now know how it must feel for my many friends who still think back fondly on Son of Beast. Except with this ride, we were fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to say goodbye. I also noticed something in the shops around the park: The fact that the ride being removed was Firehawk was right under our noses the whole time. Look in the shops at the various pieces of merchandise that represent all the coasters. Vortex is present in all such pieces. Firehawk is conspicuously absent from many. If, by some strange miracle, the rumors of Firehawk going to Kentucky Kingdom end up being true, then I look forward to a great many rides on it in the future at its new home. Just be aware that counting on this possibility is almost certain to leave you disappointed.1 point

So a little info on the grave site clues. The 11 chairs are not the 11 "big" coasters. They are there for the 11 years Firehawk was at the park.1 point

They had fire spinners during Skeleton Crew in the Showplace, and that’s a wooden stage. The solution is out there.1 point

Imagine if they recreated Enchanted Voyage with a Mack Inverted Power Coaster. Hey, if KD can get the singing mushrooms back, then we should capture a bit of our history as well right? imagines snail at beginning of ride saying "Have a Happy Day"1 point

I wish they'd bring mixed vegetables back as a side at Panda Express. More non-deep-fried sides in general would be a welcome change.1 point
