Honestly, I think it's going down completely here in the next couple years, the ride has underachieved in performance and capacity. Not to mention that it's really a one time experience for a park whose main audience is people within the area (for the most part). I give it the rest of this year, MAYBE next year then I say it's gone.

Yeah, I guess a ride that is operating is not considered open is it? Whatever you want to think, but I'll be riding it if I ever get to the park.
-
Apparently it had opened today like I had heard it would. Can't wait to get to the park and try it.
-
Is it open today? Any news would be appreciated.

I forgot that wikipedia is 100% correct, like when wikipedia said that Chris Benoit's wife had died before they found out, or when they updated George Bush's page to say he's a homosexual.

If it is too much strain, that could lead the bolts to fail, which is the last thing I want to happen on TR:TR, that would be catastrophic. They are toying around with a lot of weight, especially if HUSS has came out and said there is a problem. The reason it is not full has been stated, I know that for a fact, I'm not saying what it was though.

I have heard that the Buffet is quite poor, however I love CPs buffet, so maybe it will slowly evolve. I think it is like 13 dollars if I remember correctly.

I remember there being a switch in the building to turn them on, however, I'm assuming CF probably added a switch in the control booth, wouldn't be very hard. I've walked around in the bowl and up the stairs to the brake run in the morning for tests, quite a workout, and it's definitely taller then it looks at the brake run.

I have never gotten so wet on that ride that it was an issue, even from the elephant. It's a water ride, people get wet on water rides, get over it.
-
Maybe this is someone's marketing ploy to lower attendance at the park, after all the reds attendance has plummeted.

I love when people make stories up. The kid who fell out of Drop Zone was on the Drop Zone at Great America in California(I think?). He was apparently too small to ride and also mentally challenged. He wiggled himself free out of fear of the ride, and plummeted. The only person who has fallen out of a KI ride was the woman on Flight Commander, and she was not a girl, but a large older woman.

I am in favor of them charging for FearFest attractions, and this is why... 1) The quality was much higher 2) The lines are much shorter (bearable) 3) No where else within a days driving distance is going to get you into a haunted house for free. Even when KI charged extra (I think a passholder paid 15, I went 3 times the first year) for FearFest it was still very successful. If they don't charge this year I would actually be surprised.

Honestly, I don't see them announcing it. It will open, probably within the next week if that's what the employee said, although don't take that as gospel either, he may have been trying to get you off his back.
-
I wouldn't count on it opening today, but what do I know right?
-
I see CF pumping a lot of money into KI, because it has the highest attendance in the chain (or second highest to Knotts or CP). The greater Cincinnati market is very important to KI, especially with METRO taking people up there now. I can see some smaller rides next year (maybe some sort of thrill ride like Skyhawk at CP) and some improvements to X-Base. I think in 2009 is when the coaster will come, mainly because that will have given CP time to have it planned.

Actually they will not allow him to ride with your daughter in a chaperone type way unless he is 16 years old (unless CF got rid of that rule). Also, they do take the maximum height seriously, they have it there for a reason and it's safety of the child. If in doubt call the park, they can give you a more clearcut answer than 99% of the people on the message boards.

Actually the film gets replaced a lot, probably in excess of 5 times a season, didn't you use to work in AT.
-
Don't forget Dragster, Raptor, Wicked Twister, Maverick are all rides way better than anything KI has... except Vortex. The end.

Cedar Point Question
teenageninja replied to bparrott03's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Cedar Point is usually "crowded" on weekdays, but not packed, I went last Monday and Tuesday, and the only thing we waited more than an hour for was MF, once. Everything else was around an hour. Never waited more than an hour for Maverick either :-D. -
GLP Raging Wolf Bobs derails
teenageninja replied to The Interpreter's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
Not surprising, Cedar Fair's wood maintainence doesn't seem very good judging the rides I've had on their coasters 2 years ago, Mean Streak, Blue Streak, Raging Wolf Bobs, Villain, Big Dipper, etc. I kind of hope they shy away from wood, because even Beast is getting unbearable for me to ride. -
I haven't, but it's not terribly close, it's probably a 20 minute drive I'd say.
