  1. The Cincinnati metro area experienced a 6% increase in population between the years 2010-2020 In the same timeframe Kings Island on the other hand between the years 2009-2019 experienced an attendance increase of 17.3% If KI attendance figures followed the metro population of the area it resides in. Then the attendance number should be much lower.
  2. Statically speaking each coaster since Diamondback has on average added 179k to the attendance per season. With the exception being Orion: Diamondback between the years 2009-2013 averaged 3,133,400 attendance per season. Banshee between the years 2014-2016 averaged 3,319,000 attendance per season. Mystic Timbers between the years 2017-2019 averaged 3,492,000 attendance per season. Orion, excluding the years 2020-2022, best season in 2023, averaged 3,488,000 attendance. Each of those coasters had the highest park attendance during the season prior to a new coaster being built: Diamondback in 2013 the park had 3,206,000 in attendance. Banshee in 2016 the park had 3,384,000 in attendance. Mystic Timbers in 2019 the park had 3,521,000 in attendnance. Orion in 2023 the park had 3,488,000 in attendance. If you include the average increase of 179,000 in attendance for each respective coaster addition since Diamondback. Orion in the year 2023 should have put the parks attendance number in the ballpark of 3,673,00 for the year prior to Snoopy’s Soap Box Racer. However that is not the case. Orion’s last season had less guest attendance than Mystic Timbers.
  3. Orion is the only “giga” which the attendance declined: Before Orion: 2019 - 3,521,000 After Orion: 2021 - 3,181,000 2020 - 1,626,000
  4. The park cut staffing in order to reduce its carbon footprint. You see Associates like Cows, fart. Flatulence contains methane which is a powerful greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Less farts = less greenhouse gasses.
  5. So for comparisons sake in terms of size this is similar to Rocket’s Canopy Coaster at Castaway bay. Rocket’s Canopy Coaster is 35 feet high, and 520 feet long. It’s a two seater tube that too uses water jets to propeller riders. Difference being that Rocket’s Canopy Coaster also features a tube lift.

  7. If they add a “holding break” to a standard B&M floor less coaster, does that make it a super mini?
  8. I want Kings Island to get a coaster / ride that provides the best experience for the money. Im done answering surveys of what coaster models and types I want only to be given the Diet Coke version of those coasters. I want to be wowed by a coaster that isn’t even on the radar.
  9. Paramount had a higher average attendance overall during its ownership with Kings Island compared to Cedar Fair. And that’s not counting 2020 because of Covid:
  10. Hopefully Intamin puts out a fun, safe, and reliable ride. It would be nice to see them back in the mix at legacy CF Parks.
  11. **Update** Lids are now provided upon request. (Results may vary at IS location)
  12. Seen these folks today, are they back??
  13. Wrong. I know there are enthusiasts here who are thrilled with this addition.
  14. I don’t think the “standards” were impossible to meet by any stretch. Especially for a park like Kings Island who should be in a better position financially than Holiday World. I think it’s more on the lines of what is expected. People want certain coaster/ride types because they had an experience or seen an awesome one elsewhere such as Wildebeast at Holiday World.
  15. It was stated at Coastermania by Tony Clark. The implication that Intamin would have been a better choice is because they were the original manufacturer. For example if you drive a Ford, you probably wouldn’t take it to Toyota to have work done to it.
  16. So it’s not a water coaster if you’re not even willing to count it. Lol Either way, some would call this a straw-man argument and to some degree that may be true. This is a good addition no doubt, however for a “Water coaster” it misses the mark in my opinion.
  17. So we are in agreeance, It’s not a water coaster.
  18. I’ve never ridden of heard of a coaster that requires you to carry the vehicle you rode in. Slides require you to carry a tube.
  19. Is it really a water coaster if you have to carry your own tube?
  20. In fairness, Intamin was the original manufacturer that pitched the TT2 idea. CF took that idea and out of spite gave the job to Zamperla. We see how well that’s working out. I agree tho, I think it would be best if both worked together on a smaller project. A Darkoaster would be an amazing addition to KI.
