August 10, 20233 yr It’s such a misuse of Showplace. Put Showplace back to how it was and have the main summer music show and a proper Haunt show on the lines of Dead Awakening or Hot Blooded back there again, and find somewhere to set up temporary venues for the bike shows.
August 10, 20233 yr Do you all think a theoretical Thursday Haunt would work if it was modified to operate on a weeknight?

I don’t think they could have the same amount of rides open that they do during the weekend Haunt schedule. Maybe harken back to the old Fearfest days when only select rides were open and focus more on the haunted houses and mazes.

When I worked at the park they tried Thursday night Haunts....most of the time it was rained out or low crowds that we were sent home early. Theoretically, it could work...financially not sure corporate would be willing to take the hit.

AGREE - for Haunt show and Off the Rails - which with a bit of tweaking could basically run "forever" as it really is a show about the history of thrills at the park (ditch the "you can be anything, Kid" angle as its already tired this year) but I'd love to see a dedicated venue for these type of shows that doesn't essentially obsure the entire stage (which has a good basic "set" for any music review type show.) Would even work in Action Zone someplace. This type of show needs dedicated seating less that anything they keep forcing us all to stand for at the bandstand LOL Heck - I'd rather the stunt shows move into FestHaus with some real lighting and a runway down the center of the space (like the ice stage used to be). There's plenty of height and width. You'd need to rework the seating, but that might help it a bit. If they would do additional indoor dining options that would take some of the demand off of that space as just an indoor food hall and a show like that could over power the chaos.

I wouldn't mind seeing one for Tricks and Treats Fall Fest. Would be a good way to use the Parade route between Carnivale and Winterfest.

Name might've changed in later years. See embedded video for the 2019 parade: https://www.wkyc.com/article/entertainment/places/cedar-point/cedar-point-halloweekends-returns-2021-season-tricks-and-treats-fall-fest-halloween/95-943cc35d-23e7-4e8e-bbcc-2eecc5097aec
August 21, 20232 yr Carowinds just posted information about their fall events including the new parade, which will apparently do double-duty as the Tricks and Treats Parade during the day and the Procession of Nightmares parade at night.
August 21, 20232 yr Didn’t Carowinds Get The WinterFest The Before Kings Island? Maybe they’re using Carowinds As the test Park? Also it will be interesting to see how they pull off a Haunt Parade.

Would you be upset if they didn't come back after this year? What would you like to see replace them eventually? I really hope that this isn't the final year for these two mazes. KillMart is definitely my favorite maze at Haunt. It wouldn't make much sense to remove the two most popular mazes in the same year. I mean, Slaughterhouse even had its own building built for it. If this is their last year, I hope they are replaced by even better mazes. Some kind of mall-themed maze to go along with the Zombie Mall scare zone from 2019 would be awesome in the old KillMart location.

Slaughterhouse opened in Action Zone in 2009 and moved to its current Rivertown location in 2014. Madame Fatale's opened in 2012, and KillMart in 2014.
September 2, 20232 yr I’m not sure if this matters, but… I was playing around on the Haunt website (https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt) and I noticed something. If you try to click on the mazes or scare zones, it will just take you back to the Haunt homepage (Example: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt/attractions/chaos). Previously, you could always access each page for each maze and scare zone. This applies to all but one maze. Madame Fatale’s Cavern of Terror (https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt/attractions/madame-fatales-cavern-of-terror). This will take you to a 404 page, most likely because the page has been deleted. I’m not sure if this means anything, but I thought I’d share. Edit: Link to Haunt attractions page if needed: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt/attractions/ Edited September 2, 20232 yr by Orion13 Link to Haunt attractions page

September 5, 20232 yr All I have to say is, don't get your hopes up for Haunt like it's been in the past.
September 5, 20232 yr I went to Kings Island yesterday, and I can confirm that we are NOT getting the parade this Halloween. The parade is already been setting up for Winter Fest. But on the plus side, their is work being done in River town for this year haunt. River Town could get a scare zone, and probably Adventure Port as well. And don't forget the construction going on inside the Black Out building.
September 5, 20232 yr I have a very bold prediction for tomorrow’s Haunt announcement. From what I’ve seen no one’s mentioned this and I’m sure there’s some information that I don’t know about that will disprove this immediately. With the gutting of Son of Beast station, I think there might be a chance of a house that’s subtly inspired by the coaster (akin to Dueling Dragons from Horror Nights at Universal). I don’t have evidence for it besides “it would be neat”, but I thought I’d share it anyways.
