Hopefully they are adding a marketing and PR department that can actually build hype for an announcement.

To be fair here, Kings Island has done this with the announcements for Antique Autos and Adventure Port as well, so it's not really a new issue for the park when it comes to non-coaster announcements.

He’s talking about hype for the announcement. This is things like teaser campaigns that both get people talking, and in many cases, temper expectations.

Antique Autos had an in park announcement at Festhaus which had media coverage. The lackluster for a 10am announcement online for Adventure Port was indeed a snooze fest. This time it’s a new twist of no time given so I guess we keep watching social media pages or website.

I'm hoping it's not another lackluster 6am announcement like what Cedar Point did with Top Thrill 2

For those who are complaining about a 24 hour notice….I believe Woodstock Gliders/Snoopy’s Space Buggies got similar treatment before they were announced, the same can be said for Tropical Plunge. I believe Antique Autos was an in-person announcement because the park was bringing back a defunct KI attraction that many people had missed- the same could be said for when they announced Winterfest two years prior.

So if Dorney Park is really announcing their new project tomorrow at 5am , then I’m guessing a press release will happen at news stations for morning news at 5-6am tomorrow and launched on the website the same time 2024 passes go live tomorrow.

Both Dorney Park and Kings Island are getting different rides.

We are getting a new water park attraction next to Zoom Flume and Splash river, and where Pipeline Paradise and probably Breakers Bay is and was.

While Dorney Park is going to make history with Cedar Fair 2st Horror base coaster since Mystic Timbers.

Planet Snoopy is possible as well, but we will see what happens tomorrow.

The Woodstock Gliders/Snoopy’s Space Buggies announcement was in-person inside the Festhaus. The Tropical Plunge announcement was also in-person outside Soak City.

I hope we’re getting new Coca-Cola flavors. :P

In all seriousness, I just hope whatever we are getting opens on time.

I have heard that Knotts may make an announcement tomorrow. No news on that?

They haven't scheduled an announcement yet, but there is a teaser on their facebook that pretty clearly teases a camp snoopy addition. They might be doing a surprise announcement tomorrow but we'll have to see.

Thank you for the correction! It would be nice if they continued in person announcements- but it’s possible that there’s a reason why this one will be online.

After all the boos they got from the Orion announcement with people going as far as calling it the Kmart giga. That no wonder they are sticking with just a 5am social media post.

Don't forget all the disappointment that the Antique Cars was not SOB2 LOL.

I think these short notice announcements are made to temper expectations as well. If they drum up lots of hype for an announcement that is a pretty miniscule addition (or for many anything other than a new roller coaster) it will be underwhelming. Where if they just make this announcement the day before, there isn't time for people to build up in their minds some amazing new ride about to be announced that isn't coming. Plus the lack of major hyping kinds of points to it being a minor addition.

I guess I should rephrase. It’s less about hype and more about creative hints. Clearly this wasn’t going to be a major add, but over the last few weeks, there shouldn’t been posts and subtle winks that only now that you know what it is hinted at. That to me is creative marketing when you tease people without them even knowing they’re being teased. This was just lazy and shows no imagination.
