BB1
Went through the Order of the Dragon, way too dark even for my standards. As you enter there’s a piece of plywood in the ballroom scene that was really sharp and proceeded to cut my arm/elbow while walking in. Mind you, it’s so dark that I didn’t even know I was about to brush up against the wall but it hurts. Yes I spoke to mgt, yes I made them aware of where it’s at and finally I did get first aid. IMO it’s a fun concept, love the parts you can actually see but where you can’t it just feels lacking.
Timchat2
Security was checking IDs at the end of International Street in addition to the check outside the gate. The Conjuring looks to be just as popular at Kings Island as the other parks so far. They seem to have tapped into a clear demand for this kind of experience.
Losantiville Mining Co.
There is another funeral set up in the ride graveyard this Fall. It doesn't have any signs pointing to a retiring ride or anything, but the vibes are there. It uses the Phantom Theater car (turned around for some reason) as a backdrop next to the podium and behind the casket. (Yet another removed lantern interaction point). No visible gravestones for BBoBH in case anyone was wondering. Photo by me, LosantivilleMiningCo. (Sorry it's so dark, but you can see the metal on the casket, the chairs, the podium, and the turned around PT car. Maybe someone can get a better photo during the day?) I figured that's what it was but I just found it odd that they didn't put up a sign to say that. The PT ride vehicle being there makes sense for it, but I feel like they could've at least done one other thing for it to say that. Not everything needs to be laid out and directly stated, but I think it would've been better if they'd at least turned the ride vehicle around or just let it stay in storage this year. IndyGuy4KI
Does anyone have a name for this area? It is not on the map at all. Speaking of maps, I think it was only posted on social. I can't find it on the Haunt website anywhere unless I keep missing it. The Calendar and Map link has the calendar, but no map. Friday there were no shows or events in the moblie app. Which is bad since the map tells you to download the mobile app for showtimes.
Losantiville Mining Co.
The map can only be found on one Facebook post and in certain parts of the park so far. I'm hoping they get it together while the park is closed this week and fix some issues that have come up. It seems they either ran out of time on most things Haunt related, or someone simply chose to not have as much of everything as they did last year. All of the Interactive Lantern points especially seem to be a point of disappointment this year. It also looks like every lantern tag shows the 2024 interaction points as well, which isn't helpful now that a good amount of things have been moved/removed. I'd like to submit "Grimmwood Grove" as a potential name for that area!

I walked through that today and it honestly reminded me of the old vine tunnel KI used to have and what KD has. I would honestly not be opposed to enclosing this walkway with a permanent vine tunnel especially if The Vortex plot is going to remain empty going forward.

shark6495
We went up Saturday and my son rocked his 2024 Ghost no boos necklace. We were there for only the rides and avoided the haunt stuff (and it makes him feel better). One of the scare actors outside of Stunt coaster pulled us to the side and said that the park told them to ignore the 2024 no boos necklace, but some actors will treat the ‘24 as the same as ‘25. So we are now proud owners of a 2025, but figured I’d give you all a heads up just in case you plan on going with little and have the one from last year.

It’s funny how you have to pay to not be annoyed by the scare actors just to walk freely around the park. However if you annoy the employees like Logan Schell did, you get banned. If they do and are caught by upper management they likely get written up or even lose their job. I believe they are trained specifically to not scare those with the neckless on. Obviously accidents happen, but that doesn't mean they scare those with necklesses on purpose. There are absolutely scare actors that have done it on purpose. I'm certain they apologize and act like they didn't, but there's not a chance that no scares actors ever did that on purpose.

Yep, boo-hoo I think the event would be better without the roaming scare actors. Id much rather see decor on the likes of what Dollywood has during their Harvest Festival. Besides since the parks are now charging for mazes they shouldn’t be giving out free scares. No wonder the lines for them are short. 1

No wonder the lines for them are short. Then just go to Dollywood? If every park operated exactly the same that would be incredibly boring. Roaming scare actors have been apart of Haunt all this time and even though it might be the "free" scares in today's Haunt, I'm glad they still have them. That also provides part time jobs for folks too which is also a good thing. I will still never understand the mentality of any of this "leave me alone" stuff. Simply DON'T attend Haunt? Go to the daytime event. Or go any other day of the year prior to Haunt when the park is open and stays for night rides. It's like going to any haunted attraction and complaining about getting scared/annoyed. You know what you signed up for as every haunted attraction has information and disclaimers. In some cases, even waivers. There is always going to be room for improvement and room for growth, however, this is the first year with some big changes and things will probably be different next year depending on how things go this year. But at it's core, Haunt has remained the same and therefore successful enough to last 25 years. We never know what the future holds, but I hope for 25 more years and beyond of Haunt at KI and wish it continued success. 3

If those days are successful this year, I could easily see them becoming a great time to get night rides without needing to do anything family-friendly with Halloween Haunt. Do we think this weekend might be a better indicator as to how the Haunted Attractions Pass system might work out? Last weekend was a good test period but it was also a weekend where: it was the first night(s) of a new system Toyota families received maze passes guests wanted to hear if anything was better now that there is an upcharge

Diamondback_Is_King
Do you think Haunt will be more packed this coming weekend, or do you think it will be the same short waits for both rides and houses? I personally think it will become busier because of the reasons @Losantiville Mining Co. listed. I believe it was also homecoming for a lot of local schools, so not sure how that affected the crowds or if it did at all. I'm planning on going the weekend after next, so hopefully everything is worked out by then. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Also, does anyone have a video or pictures of the show on I Street that utilizes the pyrotechnics? I saw a brief clip of the show on Tower Topics, but was wondering if anyone else had pictures? Ryan mentioned that it wasn't listed on the website as a show, which I looked at and it isn't (which I found weird). According to Ryan, the show goes off every hour at the hour. I wish more people could know about this show, because it seems like the park isn't advertising it at all. Great episode by the way guys!
