You are young, it may not seem like it but in most jobs, you will be stuck with bad bosses or bad situations or bad pay or or or... The worst thing you can do is go complaining about it and bad mouthing it on the internet. These things have a tendency to follow you. If I were you, I wouldnt "rant" any more. Maybe even take the time to go back and delete what you wrote. Listen up young peoples. Dont go blasting your boss online. This could open you up to some very nice things not to mention harder to find a job in the future...9 points

In my opinion, it wouldn't take too much thought to come up with a variety of ideas that would greatly improve Boo Blasters and enhance the guest experience. There have been many, many times, as we're waiting in line, my wife and I have discussed changes that we'd make if we were in charge of such things. During the 15 minute or so queue, we've come up with a variety of ways we'd improve the ride. This being said, I don't think it's a matter of "can the ride be improved" it's "do they want to improve the ride?" My guess would be no. It was a lazy install from the get-go. The ride is basically Scooby Doo and the Haunted Mansion without Scooby Doo and the gang. It was the cheapest, lamest, most generic modification that anyone could ever give a ride. Although it appears that no thought was put into the ride, I think that's misleading. I think great thought was put into the ride, but the thought was "how can we do this the cheapest way possible" and not "how can we make this ride the greatest possible?" And that right there is the problem. Would I like to see Boo Blasters improved upon? Well, if this was the year 2010 or 2011 that answer would be yes. However, it's nearing the 2015 season and we've dealt with this ride in it's condition for this long, I'd say let's just ride it out and pray for a complete overhaul within the next couple of years or so. That would be the best thing that could ever happen to that ride in my opinion. Just get rid of it completely and overhaul that space. Next time I hope they give us something worth while in the building, something to be proud of. There were so many great rides in that space and Boo Blasters is really a disgrace to the history of that building. Let's hope that it doesn't have too many seasons left!5 points

True this. I am one of the FIRST people to not bow-down to other peoples' B.S., but I am also one who will go face to face, toe to toe with said person and get whatever issue resolved between us long before putting them on blast publicly. Im also one to know that, even when/if the times comes to put said person on blast, I never put said person out on public forum or FB when said person is a present or former employer, there are far better ways to express dis-satisfaction with said present or former employer on the up-and-up that will not jeopardize my present or future employment.5 points

yet you have identified who you are by specifically naming things you have done. You have stated who the "problem" is with. You have done all but name the person. Its your ability to list KK as a job reference not ours. We are just trying to help you, thats all. Plus it sounds like that you are coming from a place that it doesnt matter what anyone says you feel you are right and they are wrong. Good luck on your future endeavors and hope this doesnt come back to hurt you.4 points

That, in a nutshell, is how I feel about Disney's preposterous (for me) ride reservation system. If my day is going to be planned to the minute months in advance, I may as well stay at work. And now the silly thing is headed to Disneyland. More time at Magic Mountain and SCBB for me.4 points

You have much to learn about business. CEO's are virtually unfailingly nice...in public. It is left to those who work for them to carry out any unpleasantness. Just as in the military, commanders seldom deliver or execute bad news. The deputies get to do that...4 points

So the last two seasons they have asked pass holders to just rescan their passes for reentry into the park. I'm just thinking out loud but I'm guessing they are tracking this trend of pass holders and if they leave the park at certain times for lunch , etc. to entice people to stay in the park longer to spend more money. Anyone who had the Season pass meal deal was great , and did you spend more time, money (drinks) because of this paid benefit. I know that my family did last year and again this year.3 points

Why didn't you bring it up with those people higher than your manager? No disrespect, but in order to get what you want out of life you have to speak up right when you come across a problem not matter how small it is at the time. I am not saying you didn't speak up, but it seems as though there was a train line of events that leaded you to walk away. Every job isn't the greatest, I am sure an amusement park that has just reopened for the first time in 5 years with a whole new staff wouldn't be great. When someone or anybody makes a mistake, whether it is you, your job, whoever, you build and improve on the flaw, which is maturity. Not speaking up will eventually take you on the wrong road driving you away from your dreams.3 points

And Dorney Park has, by far, the best pizza in the Cedar Fair chain. As for Six Flags, the plates taste better than their pizza.3 points

I decided to make another poll. For the second question, which is kind of an odd one, you would be able to to have food, water (etc.). Enjoy!2 points

^ By design, a WiFi hotspot covers a much smaller area than a cell tower. A park-wide network would involve a large number of strategically placed & configured access points.2 points

I can think of a few examples that were even worse...example...renaming Top Gun to Flight Deck and doing nothing else with the ride theme wise[emoji12] granted now as The Bat, they have actually "themed" it now....at least more than they did before.2 points

Might be the shift we have just begun to see within Disney. Unannounced new attractions and lands coming to Disney Studios, Frozen at Epcot, Avatar and the recent Harambe expansion at Animal Kingdom. Very well could be an early sign of things to come.2 points

Nevertheless, the hospitality industry is riding high. The economy has rebounded and $2-$2.50 a gallon gas will likely prompt more families to hop in the car for a vacation this season. Around here in Indy, there have been a flurry of hotel announcements in the past couple of months (rehabs of old buildings into hotels plus new construction). This is probably a good time to unload Great Wolf. Perhaps Hyatt, Marriott or Hilton are interested in acquiring a stable of waterpark hotels with good brand recognition?2 points

I would think this is good news for fans of WDW (sorry Terpy ) since he brings firsthand knowledge of park ops to the front office. Perhaps he will give the greenlight for some of the blue sky projects thrown about recently (Monsters, Inc. doors coaster, etc.).2 points

Why pay someone to QA/QC every document and web posting when the KIC community does it for free for them on this forum! Come to think about, what a clever way to test out changes during the off-season. The average park guest probably isn't scouring the KI website now, so test things like dining windows on already purchased passes, etc. and see what our community has to say about it. Let's face it, most of us are probably quick to point out issues on this forum, but most here probably do not then post issue to the more heavily viewed KI Facebook page. Let us be the testing ground for changes and see our reaction and make modifications as necessary (such as removing the dining window) and save themselves grief from the everyday idiot posting garbage and negative information on the Facebook page! Most are aware of the crazy posts on Facebook and we even have a thread talking about it!2 points

As suspected, the final time-of-day restrictions have been removed from Cedar Point's dining plan info PDF. They simply updated it hastily to remove the specific meal times. https://www.cedarpoint.com/images/uploads/file/2015%20CP%20MEAL%20PLANS(8).pdf as linked on https://www.cedarpoint.com/things-to-do/dining-plans/2 points

Yes! Such a beautiful beach! I haven't made that drive in quite a few years but will have to correct that this May. Anna Maria Island is a gem as well. There is this peaceful Mangrove preserve that if you sit quietly on the boardwalk path, you will get to see Fidler crabs. They are such a blast to watch...just don't move or they scatter faster than you can blink.2 points

I don't recall a mouse chasing a cat from Phantom Theater but I do remember the one that popped up from behind a chest or something. That one is used as a prop in the Mouse Trap scene in the Board to Death maze at Halloween Haunt.2 points

I'd love to know how profitable it is to the company. In my hometown in the 90's, the Western Steer added what amounted to a year long dining plan. $300. Any lunch or dinner, any day. Nearly every senior citizen and hungry teenager in town bought one. Then ate every meal there. Eight months later, the place closed. Bankrupt.2 points

I am emailing back and forth with their Customer Care team. I believe they are listening to the concerns of their patrons. I was told they are considering bringing back the drink wristband option - I weighed in quite heavily in favor of bringing back this option. I know I would rather have a wristband than have to carry a cup and rent a locker to ride Banshee. I believe I would even accept a slightly higher price point on a wristband just to not have to bother with a cup all day.2 points

This seems to have been added to the website recently, so there's not an older version readily available for comparison. I posted it here since it's more verbose and more recently updated than what's printed on the back of season passes. Some people read the fine print.1 point

I'd guess that it's incredibly profitable.Otherwise it would be gone this year.1 point

I agree with the other people here. Do yourself a favor and keep it to yourself. Be the better man. We all know what a piece of work that guy is. There are many times in life when I wanted to get back at others. There are times that I have and nothing good or positive ever came of it. I can tell you that now, the life that I am trying to live as a good Christian man, I take the high road way more often than not. It pays off in that I have far less drama in my life.1 point

Remember, you are considering incurring the wrath of a park and a man and his attorney who made serious, slanderous if untrue, statements about plaintiffs who dared sue the park when they were allegedly injured. Put another way, you are playing with fire. Don't be surprised if/when you get burned.1 point

I rest my case. Now,to be fair, your own personal definition of "food" would make this subject to debate. It's the junkiest of junk foods, but it's SO GOOD. (Link to the pic: http://www.womansday.com/cm/womansday/images/9n/09-wd0809-Deep-Fried-Cheese-2.jpg ). Found via Google Images.1 point

Why can't Ouimet use a variation of his former employees' dining plan? Offer up a plan that includes quick service and snacks and offer up a plan that includes the above plus a sit down meal at Reds HOFG. forget telling people when they can dine. That way, people can pay one price up front and know what they're entitled to eat at the time of their choosing.1 point

How is it taking advantage of something if you used it the way they intended to (2 or 4 hour gap). Never mind that Disney doesn't care if you use all your meals in one sitting or throughout the day.1 point

http://kifansite.com/files/2013/01/opening-spring-1972-580x300.jpg This is the only picture I have seen that has something to do with something king related, as you notice the crown above. I'm not quite sure that a king would fit in Kings Island now, unless of course a new area was themed, then I would be all in for it. Next topic, we discuss the relocation of Kings Island to an actual island.1 point
