Since only you guys would care… A friend of mine works in Mason and said that they are currently installing new parking lot lights at KI. My guess is that they are installing LEDs, but hopefully they are adding lights so they don’t need the temporary diesel lights in sections anymore. I’ll let you know more if/when I find out.7 points

I just interviewed today for ride operator and I got it. I can’t wait to see you guys this summer5 points

they REALLY should've added a colored metal room to the entire building. Seems like it would've been a fairly cost effective way to totally transform the look AND reduce long-term maintenance costs3 points

About dang time,, they need to INSTALL more and REPLACE what they have now, and finish paving the lot lol3 points

Quickest and cheapest way would probably be redoing the roof with red metal.1 point

I am still hoping that Adventure Port turns out to be great. I am honestly a little bit more hopeful now that Kings Island announced it is as a summer opening because that means that the area still has a few more months of work left. I do appreciate the park posting pictures of the progress, especially because I felt like almost none were shared during Orion’s construction. However, it would be nice to see some new angles. Also, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like construction is moving pretty slow. I feel like there is not as much change as there should be in the same picture posted today versus a couple of weeks ago. Granted, we do not know what is going on elsewhere in the area. I really, really want this area to be good and successful because there are many other areas of the park that could use some reimagining (areas like Action Zone, Planet Snoopy, Soak City, and even Rivertown could all really benefit from new life).1 point

Especially when it’s all of Enrique’s and Mercado. I’m not sure posting pictures of the same half painted building really generates excitement over, say, aggravation.1 point

I’m a little scared this is an indication of the “value engineering” that’s gone into this quick mini-land redo. And before people start with the “wait till it’s done to judge” comments, I’d say “don’t post official pictures if you don’t want comments”1 point

Is there any way Kings Island can paint the shingles to match with the red? Because the roof looks really weird right now in my opinion.1 point

If the angle to the south is doable, they could make the entire parking lot a solar farm, and by partnering with the electrical supplier, pass some of that expense to them. This would benefit patrons by having somewhat shaded parking, the park by being able to take advantage of net metering and tax breaks (I am not sure what it is for commercial users, but for residential users, it is a 30% credit to your tax bill), and the electric supplier by reducing the strain on the local grid. It's not often that an open area the size of KI's lot in an urban area is open. Possible? Yes. Likely? Probably not in the foreseeable future. Disclaimer: I have a solar array on my farm that provides 100% of my electricity needs. My views could be biased .1 point

Ki will never go solar, lol you know how much they would need to INVEST to power all the lights, then re run the wires, add new lights, as cool as that would be, i HIGHLY doubt it.1 point

The left channel was Outdoor, right was indoor cave. Each one hour. But we shouldn't leave out during those years the following song played NONSTOP at Beast TVs1 point

I'm assuming they'll do the Blue side return next offseason, and paint it after that's completed. That adds up to the entire ride, except for the brakes/station/lift and top of the split hill having been retracked from the ledgers up since 2018, starting with GCI doing the turnarounds.1 point

Am I going to far out on a limb to say I think they should just incorporate The Viking Ship into the Adventure Port area? Give it a matching paint job and update the queue then call it the Pirate Ship or something. I would guest if there are cargo ships, then there are pirate ships.1 point

I wonder what will be done to our little skeleton friend in the 2nd tunnel.1 point

I personally disagree with this. First off, the park needs a bit of downtime to transition the park from Haunt to WinterFest. Yes, they do put up quite a bit of WinterFest stuff during Haunt (i.e. the candy canes in Tower Gardens, the tree out front, etc.), but remember the park also has to winterize the rides that won't be open during WinterFest AND they have to clean up all the Haunt stuff and put up the rest of the WinterFest stuff as well. Secondly, you suggest the event would be in Soak City. The problem with this is there isn't much room in S.C. to really do anything really worth bringing people in. In the summer yeah because of the water rides and when the kids halloween fest is over there it works because it draws families for halloween and such. I seriously doubt that S.C. could host an event between Haunt and WinterFest that would actually draw in crowds. Especially in November. In all honesty, I would like to keep it the way it is. Have the park close for the season and then re-open for WinterFest.1 point

My guess is they are installing permanent urban teen fight deterrent lights to replace the temporary ones.0 points
