Yeah, you don't want to know that over 46,000 bridges are deemed poor and structurally deficient.... -

There is not definitive proof that crack was there a week. Go take a picture at distance of any coaster and zoom in and you will see things that look like a crack but is really dirt or shadow or simply digital zoom deformity. I just took a picture of Banshee and digital zoomed in. That looks like a crack on Banshee but it isn't... Now why they didn't take the guy more seriously with video proof of a clear break is another issue. Sounds like a "not my department" mentality of the employee. -

So sounds like not a design flaw but rather a material or construction defect, along with generous factors of safety/redundancy that allowed a break like this to happen yet still keep guests safe.... -

The mouse parks save cheddar, CF parks save peanuts -
Looks like the source is at it again LOL:

It has been talked here before about the Peanuts IP. The problem is other parks already have some of the other popular IP. Or it is too expensive to acquire another IP. So you go with what you got or create a new IP that nobody knows about. At the end of the day, they are kids and if exposed to the Peanuts gang at an early age and they watch the annual Peanuts holiday shows, the kids are good. Kids are going for the rides, not the characters. Those of us that are older have nostalgia for whatever IP was there when we were kids, but the just born to 6 year old doesn't know history and doesn't care - they got to ride a cool ride with a beagle on it LOL. Here are a few threads from when the CF acquisition was taking place:

Exactly. Or a poor weld. Many manufacturing/construction defects it could have been. I bet the moment this happened, B&M was immediately reviewing the design and probably having a 3rd party review it as that could be done without being on-site. But B&M has a clean record and many people say B&Ms aren't forceful enough, and part of that is because they are conservative in their designs. Maybe it will end up being a design error, but I am leaning towards manufacturing/construction defect. -
Roller Coaster Stuck Upside Down
disco2000 replied to disco2000's topic in Other Amusement Parks & Industry News
"Larson Loop riders stuck upside down for hours at Wisconsin festival" wouldn't get the same attention LOL. Is Larson loop riders the name of a band playing at the local festival LOL. Where they trying an on-stage act and it got stuck LOL. -
The CGA accident was a kid that slipped thru, so it wasn't just for a larger person why they were added. Prior to that, all it had was the OTSR and any gap between the OTSR, the person, and the seat could have allowed someone to wiggle their way out accidentally (like a scared kid wanting off) or the force of the ride when it would reach the brake run and certain body dimensions or characteristics could slip thru. So seatbelts were added to ensure that the opening between the OTSR and the seat wasn't large enough that the middle torso could fit thru (if the belt doesn't hook, they don't ride), plus the seatbelt between the legs provides another factor of safety to prevent someone from sliding thru. The Florida accident probably would have been prevented had it had seatbelts. Between the seatbelt not being long enough for the rider, coupled with if it were somehow long enough (which based on the pictures I saw, it never would have allowed the restraint that high), as the body slid forward, it would have been a somewhat uncomfortable ride between the legs from the seatbelt, but they would have stayed in. I am still shocked that a new Drop Tower that also had forward tilting seats was put into operation without a seatbelt between the legs.

Yep, did that walking to The Beast looking at the Diamondback supports and seeing how easy it is to mistake shadows for cracks, and that is literally right next to it and not some digital zoom of a phone photo taken from Eiffel Tower LOL... -
I wonder if that is what all the survey markers are for....

Or it shows that when you digital zoom in that what looks like a crack is dirt or shadows since GateKeeper is now running? Or maybe Fury was cracked last week. Or maybe Fury was both LOL. -
Exactly LOL because it is merchandise that staffs VIP not Food and Beverage....oh wait F&B frequently have machines with no ice in them too LOL. They store ice in a cooler and then bang ice bag on the ground to break it up and then let the bag that was touching the ground touch the water and unwashed bare hands help get the ice into the fancy cooler...

You forgot how they treat the Prestige pass holders LOL . I wouldn't expect them to provide carbonated Coca-Cola LOL. Prestige would get flat drinks. Heck even when they were providing bottled drinks, everyone said they were kinda warm LOL.
