CorkscrewMcPuke
That's wonderful news. This is one of the few flat rides that I still have love for with the ongoing degradation of my equilibrium. Pirate ships truly are timeless classics.
flightoffear1996
Is Tan the new color or is that just primer?
teenageninja
Hard to say. I'm guessing it's a primer.

Thabto
Nice to see it getting some cosmetic work. After the extended downtime last season (or maybe 2 seasons ago), I was hoping it wasn't heading for the chopping block. VF is my favorite flat in the park.
flightoffear1996
I love VF and try to ride it whenever I see it open. A screaming swing could be nice right there though.

KIfan73
It was just so nice to see this kind of news. I hope they post more park updates, no matter how small! I would literally sit and watch them spread mulch around if I were able to. 5

I wonder if they’re going to ever release the ridership numbers.

Pagoda Gift Shop
I wonder why they decided to paint the supports tan instead of brown.
TombraiderTy
KI just tweeted a new picture of the paint job (LINK) Personally, I think the brown gave the ride a more rustic, natural appearance... I suppose the tan definitely helps it stick out more though.
KIghostguy
I got to see the new paint job on Friday during my training, which was right next door in Emporium. I thought it looked nice; the new support color goes better with the trees than it looks like in photos.
beastfan11
Yikes. I’ll have to see it in person, but... yikes.
BeeastFarmer
Isn't that the color the supports were painted when it debuted? Paging @KIghostguy

What, no additional behind the scenes story about how the park chose that particular shade of brown... or do we have to wait for your book...speaking of which, any update on its release? 2

I'm assuming they repainted it to make it pop out more instead of having it blend in among the trees

The story behind Viking Fury is a genuinely interesting one! It will be included in the book, but unfortunately coronavirus threw the publishing company off-kilter and they have a backlog of projects. They’re aiming for a “mid-summer” release. 9
BeeastFarmer
I don't remember the paint color from my youth, but I assumed it was more tan than brown from this picture that was posted on KISP yesterday. Of course, tech was not great back then, and lighting is in play. Photo courtesy of Jeff Joiner and posted on KISP's Facebook page 6/15/2020.

I think it’s just the lighting, if you look at the support toward the lower right by the queue, you can see that brown color.
