I will be very curious to see if we start to see any work at Timberwolf after SpiritSong is finished.  I would love to see the path to The Bat shortened if Timberwolf is demolished.

Didn't they just do a ton of work on Timberwolf last season? Seems odd that last year they'd pump some new life into it and then demolish it two years later. But then again, are there any concerts other than Spirit Song there this year? Maybe they weren't able to get traction. But hadn't heard anything about them demolishing it, unless I missed a rumor.

The decision was made and announced July 27, 2012.

  • Just thought I'd share some views of that area circa 2008...

  • There's a better chance of the Menendez brothers being released from prison than there is of Son of Beast coming back.

I don't know if I would say a ton of work went into Timberwolf last season.

They added a VIP paver area and cleaned up the place, but they could probably repurpose the paver area if they wanted to with a new improvement.

As of right now SpiritSong and the Music in the Parks have been the only use of the facility with nothing else announced.

From what I remember it was said that last year's concert series was mainly a nostalgia thing for the 50th and they would only continue them if they were successful. From what I remember outside of Skillet and 3DD, the other concerts were barely half full. The thing is mosts artists that would fill Timberwolf these days go to Riverbend right down the road and most of these acts have contracts with Live Nation and basically with that contract they can't play at any venue that isn't a live nation partnered venue that is close by (Riverbend and Bogart's have LN contracts that I know of). Also there is the Andrew J Brady Music Center, the Newport venue, as well as Hard Rock Casino is doing concerts now so basically to most artists Timberwolf is likely low on the list of places to perform at around here.

Lights in the station are still on as of five minutes ago. I saw security near the exit of The Bat, so that's good. Hopefully that'll help prevent trespassing.

Glad Skillet did well; that was a good show! :D

Also, I didn't realize Three Doors Down was still popular. I remember the Berlin concert was decently packed.

What ever Kings Island does I’m just going to enter the front gate, open my wallet and say "take what you think it fair".

Sorry, but we're cashless and cannot accept anything in your wallet. Please convert it into a prepaid card.

And remember, Timberwolf is also cashless...

As of this evening, the lights are still on!

There were also a few maintenance trucks going up and down the road.

Did you see anybody from maintenance in the station area by any chance? Or were they just driving around the area?

Where should we be looking? And what does “We’re #1” mean?

I didn’t see anyone in the station area. I think they were just driving around.

I took another picture of the station just before the park closed last night:

I can confirm that the former Blackout building will be housing the next new maze.

Also me avoiding one word posts :P

That is a maintenance road and is traveled frequently by maint going to/from Bat, Skyflyer, Drop Tower, Invertigo, Congo, Timberwolf, the maint access road outside the park, etc.  I wouldn't read too much into vehicle traffic on that road...

Something about seeing this photo of the station all lit up at night just floods my mind with so many memories. Thanks for sharing this.

I mean PEANUTS merchandise was 30% off today. Also, PLANET SNOOOY was the #1 kids area. I guess we should focus our attention over there.

Nope. I would have said. “We we’re #1”.
