I’m surprised, but at the same time I’m not. With that parks perceived history as being one of the worst in the chain, I feel like it will be the least missed by the general public.

To be honest I didn't think they would keep all the parks. This has happened before. Gauga Lake closed after CF acquires KI. We've seen it before. Underperforming park is retired and the property is sold. Rides are relocated or scrapped. I personally think six flags America had some good coasters but overall that park was easily the worst park I've ever been to considering operations, cleanliness, and food.

I was thinking about the rides still at the park and what is most likely not going to get scrapped - 

Rajun Cajun: is a portable coaster so maybe it's does get a new home at a smaller park.

The SLC: just got some upgrades recently and SLCs seem to be relocated rather often so maybe it also finds a new home

Firebird: I would say yes but it's so rough and never seems to have a line as it is. They just scrapped green Lantern so B&M coasters are not exempt from the wreaking ball. I personally think this one is done 

Joker's Jinx: Could be relocated but it's aging and it could be used for parts on various other aging premier Launch coasters in the chain 

Batwing: immediately scrapped 

Roar: ditto

Superman: I think it's too large to relocate. Whatever park would take it would need alot of property and I don't think they are looking to keep an Intamin around if they don't have to. 

Wild One: This one is the one I hope gets relocated somewhere considering its history and the fact it's a great woodie and still runs great! Even if the state fair took it or some park outside the chain I'd be happy. I'm sure ACE will probably do whatever they can to facilitate the ride being relocated rather than scrapped if possible 

Maybe some of the flats get relocated?

Fun fact…

Growing up in Virginia, Im old enough to remember when it was originally a small park named Wild World.  I think it started as a drive through animal attraction, then it operated mainly as a water park in the early ‘80’s.  It had some flat rides , but when they added the Wild One coaster, that helped popularize it.  
 

I vividly recall the park and all the ‘80’s commercials.  
 

Obviously it eventually got bought and expanded to a Six Flags park.  It never really took off even with the large Six Flags investment.

Very curious about superman, its a fairly reliable Intamin, I'd love to see something that large be relocated. But its so unlikely. Give it to Darien Lake they can have 2 of them lmao

I predict every single coaster in this park is a goner.   If they have a heart, they’ll save Wild One.  But frankly it’s not marketable enough to relocate.

A certain SF Exec has an axe to grind with Intamin… so Superman will get scrapped.

I'm not too surprised given that park's reputation. I'm sure there are other factors in that decision as well - most likely annual revenue vs cost of operation. I do feel sorry for the residents of Baltimore and surrounding areas who are losing their local park though.

As soon as the merger was announced, several parks came to my mind as being potentially "at risk" due to multiple parks in the same area, of which Six Flags America was one. 

I had the opportunity to visit this park in 2014, along with Dorney, Six Flags Great Adventure aka NJFTP for those around from the Terpy days, Kings Dominion, and Carowinds on a Fourth of July weekend coaster trip.

I thoroughly enjoyed the rides I took on Roar, Apocalypse (now Firebird), and Wild One; additionally, I also took my first (regrettable) ride on a Vekoma SLC and walked away with a splitting headache. The one at Kentucky Kingdom was a little more tolerable with the new trains, however.

In terms of coasters, I'd like to see Firebird (opened as the first B&M at Six Flags Great America: Iron Wolf), and especially Wild One saved, given the latter's status and old school charm.

I visited this park in 2022, when I was working at Hersheypark. I rode Superman next to a boy who was visiting from Britain...he wanted to visit an "American theme park." I told him it was a pretty poor representation of the parks here. I wonder if he ever went to another, better park during his trip!

I went on Google Maps and took some basic measurements for each coaster in case anyone wanted to find a plot it could go in at other Six Flags parks. 

• Batwing (Vekoma Flying Dutchman): 500ft x 400ft
• Firebird (B&M Floorless): 550ft x 150ft
• Great Chase (Zamperla Family Gravity Coaster): 125ft x 100ft (?)
• Joker's Jinx (Premier LIM coaster): 500ft x 200ft
• Professor Screamore's SkyWinder (Vekoma SLC): 400ft x 200ft
• Rajun Cajun (Reverchon wild mouse): 175ft x 100ft
• Roar (GCI wood coaster): 550ft x 350ft
• Superman (Intamin hyper): 1,000ft x 900ft
• Wild One (Dinn Corp. wood coaster): 1,200ft x 400ft

It'd be a massive shame to see a majority of the rides from this park sent to be scrapped. I hope lots of their rides go to parks that haven't gotten many additions recently. There were some comments about having multiple parks in one region (notably Magic Mountain/Knott's and SFGAdv/Dorney), but I think those parks are safer than others. 

This also makes me think that Six Flags might want to let California's Great America have its 50th anniversary celebration — barring any more surprises.

Unfortunately, I think most of these coasters will be scrapped.

Batwing is obviously getting scrapped.

Firebird (the first ever B&M) has aged like milk.  So has Roar.

Wild One and Superman have large footprints, and may not fit anywhere else.

Joker's Jinx is just as much on death watch as four other Premier LIM coasters.

Professor Screamore:  does anybody really want an SLC?

Rajun Cajun and Great Chase are the only two I can see getting relocated.

Att the same time, it seems like SLCs manage to keep going.  Only two outright removals have taken place, and both of those ended up with Kumbak trains.

...and I have this weird thought that Screamore will go to KD where Anaconda was, as their "Scorpion" ride.  But that would hardly be any better...

I know the fate of these coasters seems pretty bleak as a whole, but as an optimist it would be great to see a few of them get a new home. Imagine Ride of Steel going to say, Michigan's Adventure. I know it's a huge structure but it would be a massive hit up there. The SLC I could see possibly being sold and picked up by a smaller park. Somewhere like Indiana Beach would be a great park for one of those to go. I know Firebird will more than likely be a goner, but I can mourn it since it is historic as well as iconic to 90's kids who remember a certain movie in which it was featured in. And well, Batwing, that's basically a given. I've heard it had terrible down time and these older Vekoma Flying Dutchmans are becoming extinct as we know it. Sad because this is a X-Flight/Firehawk clone and again a sentimental type ride. But yeah.

This merger has seen a lot of carnage and hardly any formal announcements to say goodbye. I'm glad they're doing the right thing by announcing this now so people can get in their last rides and visits. I hope people document everything before it's just a flicker of the past. It might not be the best park in the chain but as always, every ride and every park holds a special place in someone's heart.

When they talked about offloading or closing parks, this is the one that popped in everyone's head. So yeah, not a huge surprise. Always a shame to lose a park though and I feel terrible for the people nearby who actually enjoy SFA despite its reputation. I've never been there, so I may have to see if I can get there before they close.

Sounds like the county wants them to find a buyer and keep it zoned as entertainment but the corporation would rather redevelop it and get some people to drive to KD, it would seem.

Hard to imagine any of the flat rides being straight up demolished aside from the Drop Tower. Some are fairly new including a star flyer, a NebuluZ and a discovery. Looking at what they have I realized the park technically has two "flying dutchman" rides, which is kind of funny. Ragin' Cajun probably has a shot too.

As sad as it is to nonchalantly talk about cannibalizing a park, I second on Kings Island getting the NebulaZ! We need more flat rides.  It can be put in Rivertown and themed to Peter's Cartridge Company or something along the lines of an early small industrial town. Coney Mall could benefit from it too, incorporating it into a Coney refurbishment. I can also see it in Area 72.

Plus if the 2026 family thrill attraction is put in the Crypt building, they could put the nebulaZ in the pad right next to the building near Beast's entrance and open up that area past The Beast's entrance and maybe have the exit be moved back to its old spot again and maybe just maybe get the water mill working again.

Sometimes I don't even want to suggest something on here out of fear the park would think it's a good idea...all I'm going to say is that nebulaZ better not replace my favorite flat ride along Coney Mall... I'm all for it going anywhere else in the park. I think it could look cool in rivertown especially considering rivertown doesn't have any flats

Went there for the first and only time in 2021. Middle of summer and not enough workers to run but about 2/3 of the rides in the park and only about 1/2 in the waterpark.

It was kind of run down as well. 

Mind Eraser (prof screamore) was not a good ride.  Firebird was ok. Superman was fun. Not much else there. 

I can see Ragin' Cajun and the Harley Quinn frisbee/pendulum rides being relocated for sure because they were new(er).

As a person who grew up with Cedar Point, I feel like the Nebulaz should go there.  There haven't been a lot of new flat rides added since 2014, and there are at least 3 spots I would consider:

1: the Boardwalk area, replacing the 3 Point Challenge.  Also the former site of Chaos and Schwabinchen.

2 or 3:  Near Corkscrew, where Matterhorn and Scrambler were before being relocated to the Boardwalk.

As for Kings Island, I would aim for Ragin Cajun, though I am not sure where it would be located.
