  1. I have a fully decked out Platinum Pass for this season. Despite being an associate, I go to the park so often that a Dining Plan, FunPix and Drink Plan really work out for me. It is my first year for a dining plan, it is going to be interesting. Really hoping the initial quirks in past years have been smoothed over. I guess it is kind of funny that I am following the advice of most sales people for companies. Purchase and use the product you sell to guests (customers). I will definitely use all of these a lot however, I visited the park over 64 times last year.... so. Drink Plan is one of the most undervalued products at KI. So convenient! $32.09 after tax for free drinks all season. Its nice!

  2. Can’t believe there’s only 5 more days until we get to go to ki.

  3. Why? I've ridden Lightning racers a couple of years ago and had a blast on it.

  4. That person was technically breaking the law by spitting over the side, which is why they were likely being removed from the platform, and potentially the park. It is against Ohio Revised Code to disobey any written or verbal rule on amusement rides in the state (Section 1711.551). At Coney, I have had security remove people from the park after they have threatened to beat up one of our operators for not letting their kid on the ride who was too short.

  5. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the moment that the Spirit Song tour ends is the same moment that the Timberwolf is on the chopping block. https://www.wcpo.com/news/insider/remember-this-for-20-years-timberwolf-amphitheater-provided-the-soundtrack-to-our-summers

  6. They should add fun pix to Flight of Fear, that would make for some good pictures

  7. Typically the restaurants on International Street are open until the park closes. Also, Chick-Fil-A. Some of the restaurants also won't open until an hour after the park, either. Basically, I would absolutely not count on getting more than one meal Friday evening. Lines will also be slower as the employees are mostly new.

  8. Yes but some locations close early another member will have to help me out because I can’t remember witch restaurants close early

  9. I could get behind that. A little touch of paint does wonders.

  10. That area around Oktoberfest is one of the few quieter places left in the park. Personally, I'd like to keep it that way.

  11. As long as there's a resteraunt open. Yes.

  13. Any speculation on the secret project in 2019? Rumored to be called "Project: Alpha" its supposed to be in the South Carolina side of the park according to permits filed. https://coaster-nation.com/carowinds-building-new-hotel-and-new-attraction-in-2019/ Since its in the South Carolina side of the park, one can speculate that it'll be a coaster. If this is true, that would be four years since their last coaster, Fury 325, so they're certainly due for a new coaster. Also, Dinosaurs Alive is in the SC side of the park and seeing as its departing from Cedar Fair, the DA land frees up a lot of space for a new coaster. I think it would possibly be a wooden coaster by GCI since a good wooden coaster is something that the park significantly lacks, especially with the removal of Thunder-Road and the likeliness that Hurler will get the RMC treatment.

  14. http://touringcentralflorida.com/2018/04/05/busch-gardens-tampa-project-2019-rumors/ Gwazi to be rmc'ed? Could be the making of a great 1-2 punch with twisted tiger and cheetah hunt.

  15. I get the times have very much changed, but there's no reason you can't get some mid-level bands to play there. A young up and coming band or older, past their prime act (the kind you see play minor league stadiums for example). The potential revenue does not merit worth the time and money I suppose. I'd love to see a Gin Blossoms / Huey Lewis type band on a random weekend!

  16. I'd highly complain. I consider Viking Fury to be one of the better flats in the park.

  18. I think we should bring the Action Zone Friday concert series back.

  19. Hersheypark also takes care of their wooden coasters way better than most SIX parks and BGT did. Comet still runs like its new.

  22. This is similar to what I had last year. Can’t really put ice in them, but the wide mouth ones have a larger cap so don’t fit a pocket as well. Surprisingly the two I had never leaked but the hole for the carabiner did rip on one of them. https://www.amazon.com/Clever-Creations-Collapsible-Friendly-Relaxing/dp/B06VVRPQCJ

  24. I was originally in the 19 boat but seeing as CW is getting a Dive for 2019, I'd be suprised if a giga came earlier than 2020

  27. As much as I would love to see Gwazi RMCd given the budget cutting moves being made in that park I think this is more likely a Tempesto clone.

  28. Yeah but that pattern didn't apply to Mystic Timbers. It was built 21 years after the first GCI. There's two instances of this claim, but honesty it's all just complex economics and corporate politics NONE of us actually understand no matter how much we pretend. I'm in for the 19 boat, but I wouldn't nail anything down based on patterns. That's just my view, I don't intend to come off argumentative or hostile.

  29. A laser can cause a ride censor to fault, among other issues. I remember the CP maps used to say laser pointers prohibited. As for route, I'ld take 71 to 271 to 90. Shortest, fastest, and flatest.

  30. If that is the case, I will be saying this about Diamondback like mad. (Then there will be less people in line ahead of me)

  31. ^Agreed, I usually make it a point to ride a coaster that's new to me with a substantial sized train all over the train to see where it runs best at. Alright- route suggestion needed going from Cincy to Erie- go through Cleveland or go through Pittsburgh?

  32. Well, if it was The Racer, we could watch the webcam to see Don strapped to the backhoe.

  33. The unlimited option is well worth it at Waldameer. You'll want to marathon Ravine Flyer II and that is the most economical way of doing it. They also have some great flats as well and Comet is a fun coaster for what it is.

  34. I don't know that I would call that steampunk myself... I would call it industrial. It makes me think of a mine cart with lights on the front. I like it.

  35. In person? Looks like a digital photo to me TBH the from of the train looks bland to me. You think they’d have more decoration on them to be more steampunk. It almost looks like they went to Spirit Halloween on a Dollar Tree budget to decorate the front of the train.

  36. When you visit the park to switch your Gold Pass card for a Platinum card, then two hours later on your way home, drive down Kings Island Drive again and get excited over seeing Delirium running. Six more days!

  37. Here's one of the trains in person. I like the steampunk angle they're going for with the theming. From Cedar Point's Facebook page.

  38. Does everyone remember before this when every topic on here would become a SOB topic even if SOB wasn't even in the same zip code as the original post's intentions? Good times.

  39. Polishing those social skills in the food thread I see. There was about 3 weeks in college where I was completely broke after needing a new clutch on my Datsun. All I ate was Mac and cheese and potatoes. In general a few bites and I am good, however loaded with the right toppings would better. I actually prefer regular spaghetti noodles to any other shape even though I know there is not really any difference.

  40. When the closest I get to an adrenaline rush is when I find another Loopster car in the racks of Hot Wheels. Found four today, three at Walmart and one at Target. Two are the hands down variant. I have six total cars now. A decent sized train.

  41. Yes, repeat trouble makers have been banned before, and season passes have been revoked. I've been involved in several situations of that sort in the past (not as the person being kicked out, but as one of the people involved in the situation on behalf of the park). And people have tried to re-enter while banned. I had one situation where I clearly remembered the person, and he tried to come back a few months after he was banned. I just happened to be out near the turnstiles, he saw me and left the rest of his group to go back out to the car. I followed him, got park police and he was escorted off park property again. And the funny thing was, the park police officer that responded was the one involved in his ban the first time. When he pulled up to us in the park police car, he got out and said to the guy, "What?!?!?! You again?!?!?" I had to stop myself from laughing when he said that!

  42. My favorite "Kicked out of the park" story is this: Was working at SOB, got reports of two girls line jumping for the front seat. Well, we waited till they were climbing into the car, and told them that they have to get out of the train and leave the ride area for line jumping. They refused to get out, we refused to dispatch the train till they left. Security was called, in which the guilty party still refused to move, then Mason police showed up, they STILL refused to move, until one of the Mason cops grabbed an arm and HAULED them out of the train, put some pretty, shiny bracelets on their wrists, and escorted them through the park.
