  1. We created a short about this for Tower Topics (and plug KIC in it). We will do a full episode soon.

  2. Using Canada's Wonderland as an example, they sent out a coaster survey in 2023 with a few concepts. Most are speculating that it is a new launched roller coaster, unconfirmed of course. There is major construction at Wonder Mountain, with footers popping up recently so they are building something big. Given the timeline these projects take, like with Orion where it started in 2018, they take time. Seeing how Kings Island sent out their own surveys this year, they are very likely still in the planning stage. Who knows what the merger will do to progress, but there is at least something on the table after all.

  4. A permit was filed on Masons website for a master blaster ride. What does everyone think about this. https://aca-prod.accela.com/MASON/Cap/GlobalSearchResults.aspx?isNewQuery=yes&QueryText=Kings%20island Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  5. I'm just excited to see an investment! I was worried we'd see a nothing year after getting adventure port and camp Snoopy. I really hope we see a new coaster in 2026 and then get the nothing year. Not that I ever want a nothing year but I'd rather get one after a big coaster addition if we get one

  6. -The best rides I've had on MF are better than Orion -But Orion will consistently give you airtime where as most of my rides on MF have little airtime -I like the sections on MF where you stay low to the ground and get to appreciate the speed. -I prefer Orion's sort-of-a-waveturn hill more than Millie's gray-out hill after the drop. -MF gives you better views and multiple tunnels. -Orion's speed hill is probably the best element on either ride. So yeah its pretty close. I give the nod to Orion just because its easier to get on.

  7. Out of curiosity, are we still thinking The Bat is next to go? I'm personally leaning towards Invertigo, Congo Falls, and Timberwolf as the next removals. While The Bat is old, Invertigo is also a rare model these days and one could argue for a new front of the park coaster. Of course I wouldn't be crying if they announced Boo Blaster was closing at the end of the 2024 season but I don't see that happening.

  8. For me it's a really close call between the two, but I'm going to say Millennium Force due to the additional length and the view you get right next to the lake.

  9. Leaked layout? It's a public record. A leak would be getting it before the plans were filed.

  13. Both are very good coasters and huge icons for their respective parks. I’m interested to hear everyone’s opinion!

  16. Yay! A dueling watercoaster that probably will only have one side operating on any given day, with 5 tubes. Although it will be a fun experience, the not operating all the attractions in the waterpark at full capacity is what gets me.

  17. To add to this, Orion and Millennium force have the same exact height for the first drop. (300ft)

  18. The city of Mason and the park have made this almost too easy. The park is filing permits with the model name of the attraction, which can now be easily searched for. Then the city makes the documents filed along with the permit available to download, meaning no need to even drive over and take pictures of the paper blueprints.

  19. Milli is the better coaster and at least nobody has to argue IF it's a giga coaster or not. I personally have tried to figure out the criteria because if it's lift hill based for giga and hyper, Orion is definitely a hyper but that would mean phantom's revenge is not a hyper. That doesn't seem right to me so if I go on size of drop, meaning phantom is a hyper and Orion is a giga, that means the original hyper coaster Magnum XL 200 isn't a hyper (drop is only 195'). This also seems wrong so for my personal criteria I classify any coaster with a lift hill or a drop of 200' as a hyper and any coaster with a lift hill or drop of 300' as a hyper. So yes, according to me Orion is a giga. I think Milli has a greater sense of speed from the low to the ground elements, tunnels, and lack of trim breaks. Orion has the better first drop but it suffers from some elements that are subpar to me. The wave turn at the top of the second hill doesn't do much and the orion's belt helix is forceful yet boring. Orion doesn't deserve all the hate it gets but it's definitely not the top giga coaster. My giga rankings are as follows - 1. Intimidator 305, 2. Millennium Force, 3. Fury 325, 4. Orion, 5. Leviathan. Maybe one day I'll win the lottery and go to Japan to get steel dragon 2000

  20. The rumors thread is now locked so I'm going with this is the thread we're supposed to be using for discussion? If not someone please direct to the proper place. Anyway, I think a Soak City addition isn't surprising considering its been nearly 10 years since tropical plunge. I am not a water park goer so SC additions never do much if anything for me but it's still good to see the park investing in an area they haven't touched for close to a decade. J think this project looks like something water park goers would really enjoy and I hope it brings a lot of people into the park in 2025.

  25. Roblox is a collection of different games and metaverses that anybody can publish, not just companies. The pictures that they posted was from a game that was made by a fan unaffiliated with the Six Flags corporation. This is what the entrance looks like on the official Six Flags metaverse. If you search up "Six Flags" on Roblox, you'll come across dozens of different games that were made by fans and only one that was made by the company itself. I wanted to bring this up because the official game doesn't have any rides or references to any of the Cedar Fair parks, so no Copperhead Strike. Though interestingly, it did tease a repaint for Nitro, which bares a very familiar color scheme to a certain coaster...

  26. I’ve often thought about what a Six Flags park would look like under control of Cedar Fair. This is an example: Six Flags New England gets rebranded to New England’s Riverside. You see the park drop the WB and DC IP in favor of Cedar Fair names and standard Six Flags names. Ride names like Flashback, Great Chase, Pandemonium, Thunderbolt, and Wicked Cyclone would stay. Superman would be rethemed to Patriot and receive a blue color scheme with white supports. This would use the current CF IP while being an indirect tie into the New England Patriots. Batman-The Dark Knight would be renamed Revolution which is a name Six Flags owns and plays on the American Revolution and repainted red and blue. Gotham City Gauntlet Escape from Arkham Asylum would be renamed Paul Revere’s ride (in grasping at straws here) Joker would be renamed Total Mayhem and given the orange, red, and black color scheme the Great Adventure model was supposed to get Catwoman’s Whip would be given a generic name like Taxi Jam Riddler Revenge would be something generic like Flight Deck Flat rides would have their names altered to remove DC and WB IP. The kids area would be a Camp Snoopy. The generic names can be more personalized but I’m doing this as if they have a year or so to change the names over like CF did with Paramount. This is just all for fun and nothing is based on any form of speculation or rumors. This is also a scenario where the WB and DC IP had to go- this will likely not be the case.

  28. It even lists the additions price on that publicly-accessible city-governed web site, very interesting how much it costs! Lot of money for sure, don't always realize how expensive this stuff is. Update: The construction files are listed publicly alongside it too. Look at your own risk. Went through them, gonna be a great addition, very excited

  29. A water coaster would be a welcomed addition! Kinda seems fitting too since the neighboring Great Wolf Lodge got rid of theirs. Hoping for Fast Lane option since I know for a fact this thing will undoubtedly have long waits.

  33. I’m briefly emerging from my lurking to inform you that my 2000th Bat ride is fast approaching! I plan to take it tomorrow afternoon/evening depending on how many I can get later today between the rain showers and storms. If you’re at the park tomorrow, come celebrate with me! The exact timing will largely depend on how close I get after work today…

  34. Stopped by last evening for my first visit of the year. An afternoon storm cleared out some of the crowd and left us with sub 20 minute waits for everything. Enjoyed my front and back seat rides on Banshee, front in Racer, back on Orion, back on Snoopy Soap Box, back on Mystic and Beast, the train for a nice break, and a long awaited Smurf(blue) cone. Got to watch my son working at his coaster like a boss, and finished with the fireworks and drone show. My first coaster rides since going on some very tough meds, and I felt great!
