  1. Blackout building is just storage now.

  2. I am very surprised that the Blackout building will remain vacant. It was also surprising that we won't be getting a scare zone in Adventure Port. Maybe Coney Maul could be extended into Adventure Port, or at least back towards WindSeeker? I'm glad that Rivertown is getting some attention, though. As for the removal of C.H.A.O.S., while I am sad to lose a maze, I'm sure Alien Abyss will be amazing!

  9. For me, this was already the smoothest non-suspended Arrow I've been on, so I can't imagine how it'll get better than that. Its a really fun and beautiful ride for as simple it is.

  10. Kings Island historically has fewer staffing issues compared to other Cedar Fair parks, but staffing can get rough once people head back to school. Nowadays, however, Cedar Fair will intentionally staff its parks less than it theoretically could in order to save money. For instance, Kings Island was not scheduling some employees many hours this summer, which caused them to quit to find another job where they could actually get scheduled more hours. I don’t know what the staffing situation is going to look like for Halloween Haunt, though.

  11. Very excited for Haunt this year! I’ll definitely be one of the first in line for Alien Abyss on opening night! Hopefully it’s scarier than CHAOS was. CHAOS was always one of the least scariest mazes, at least for me. Alien Abyss seems darker and creepier than CHAOS, so fingers crossed! Hotel St. Michelle had some of the best theming for a Haunt maze that I’ve seen, so hopefully Alien Abyss is on the same level. Abandoned seems like a solid scare zone, so it will be interesting to see what it’s like. From the description, it sounds like it plays into the Mystic Timbers theme. Maybe it will connect the lore of Diamondback, The Beast, and Mystic Timbers? Either way, I can’t wait for Haunt!

  12. It seems like all the mazes and scare zones are returning or being replaced, which is good to see. I am looking forward to seeing the new maze replacing CHAOS and the new scare zone. I am disappointed by the show occupying the International Street Bandstand, though. I feel like that location warrants a much grander show than a trivia game.

  13. I definitely preferred the edgier shows, and could miss Hifi Honey altogether, not a fan.

  15. From news articles I've seen and BGW website it sounds like Loch Ness Monster is getting a full restoration/refurbishment. I can't wait to see what they do and I hope this is also a maintenance refurbishment as well to keep this coaster in prime condition for many more years. I've always thought that BGW takes good care of this ride and this has only reaffirmed my belief that they are looking to keep this coaster around for a long time. Such a great ride and is actually one of the smoother arrow loopers in operation.

  16. The Monster is one of my favorite KI flats and I thought I'd ride it since I was up at the park alone last Sat (rest of my family says Monster is nauseating) and I am curious as to what is going on with it and why... First, they are loading 3 arms now instead of 4 or 6. I'm assuming that this is due to only having 2 operators (only one of which is on the ground) however, is it actually more efficient to have to reposition the arms 3x instead of just twice (loading 4 arms)? The 3 arm loading system seems very inefficient to me because of the additional reposition and less riders are able to ride during a cycle. Second, the ride seemed slow. So the actual spinning was normal but the center rotating piece that lifts and drops the arms seemed very slow. Usually the monster drops quick enough to give a mild stomach drop however last Saturday it seemed to be as mild as when it's in the lock position as it slowly went up and slowly went down at a more gradual pace. Third, I thought some of the lights were missing on the arms. (I am not always the most observant individual so this could very well be the way it's always been and I've just now noticed it) Anyone else experience the Monster recently and can anyone give further info on it? Anyone else experience a "slow" ride on it? Can anyone explain why they think loading 3 arms is better than 4?

  17. Ideally the ride would’ve been initially designed to where all arms could lower at once but they would require a lot of hydrologics which probably weren’t available decades ago- heck current models still resemble the old designs

  18. Nothing to do with speed. But it is about balance. If they were to only load two, it is doable, but the operator would have to move the opposite station which takes time and then go back to their main station, all while loading less seats. They are loading one side of each set in order to allow the operator to walk up and load the same side and quickly get back. Look at an overhead shot of the ride and you’ll see. There are 6 total arms. When it comes down into the loading position, they are going to either be loading all of the right arms or all of the left arms each time. This could be due to short lines in order to ensure the ride is balanced. As far as the speed I don’t know. I haven’t been in a while.

  19. I always thought it would be neat if rides / coasters that were removed would receive a gravestone and be placed underneath Banshee. It would be a good way to pay homage as well as add to the current theming of Banshee. They could definitely use some gravestones underneath the second half part of the ride. What are your thoughts?

  20. When I ride Banshee, besides the zero g stall, I'm focusing on not throwing up.

  21. I a few weeks ago I decided to watch some old KI coaster announcements and I came across the Banshee announcement and if you look in the animated pov from 2013 it shows grave stones on the ground in between the 4th and 5th inversions as well as the 2nd loop and upward helix. Wonder why it was scraped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dM7SJctRFMY

  30. It’s such a misuse of Showplace. Put Showplace back to how it was and have the main summer music show and a proper Haunt show on the lines of Dead Awakening or Hot Blooded back there again, and find somewhere to set up temporary venues for the bike shows.

  31. I know the subject is a dead horse but I’d be okay with a clear-the-park method if it was being done to uncover and set up the edgier theming and whatnot. I miss the more “adult” version that Haunt debuted with in 2007, mazes like Club Blood and shows like Dead Awakening and Hot Blooded.
