Thanks to groundbreaking and intelligent marketing. I get bombarded by ads for cheap silver passes daily.

Any guesses on what ride this is?

I don't really understand the mass advertising for Silver Passes...how many people actually buy these? Everyone I know just gets the Gold Pass

Someone in a land far, far away (corporate) probably thinks that if they buy the pass now, they will upgrade to gold in three months for 2026. That may be the case, but they will likely downgrade to silver in 2027 and so on and so forth.  That would save about $10 per year, correct?

That's how out of touch people in this land far, far away might be. Or, this could be something conceived by a outside consultant.

It likely keeps them buying as they think they are pulling one over on big corporate LOL

How about something conceived by their insider FUNsultant ;) The coaster in the picture is almost definitely a stock photo from one of the parks galleries. Putting together one ad campaign and changing the park name is certainly cheaper than spending money on 20+ campaigns. Hopefully we'll see better once the merger has calmed down and some parks have dropped the "Six Flags" from their name. Great Adventure, Great America, Fiesta Texas, Discovery Kingdom, and a few others would be good contenders for that. Bonus points if Fiesta Texas gets its fun logo back.

I think the Silver Pass is there so the parks can have a "budget option". That being said, it's still good to have it available! If someone just goes to the park occasionally or doesn't have the money for a Gold or Prestige Pass, they can get the Silver Pass now and go do all of the rides and shows from mid-April to Labor Day. Add in the Pass Perks program and that's enough for a family who only goes for a few days each year.

On a different note: did anyone get to see what kind of pavement will be used under the new festival structure? All of the pictures make it look like the edges have been prepped with asphalt. I haven't seen anything that would indicate concrete going down, so my guess would either be pavers or asphalt (the latter of which would be a big mistake for a park that normally prides itself for its beauty). There needs to at least be a little planter on the corner nearest the Eiffel Tower and maybe another one near the lamps by the carousel. Looking back at a recent image it looks like it'll be asphalt around the edges. There is space for at least another tree or two and some pretty flower beds! (Unless that's actually very dark mulch I see, but I doubt it.)

Since they made the conscious decision to go with the name Six Flags, even though Cedar Fair is the slight majority, I do not think we will see the Six Flags named dropped.

They went with Six Flags for the branding and name recognition.  If they didn't want to take advantage of name recognition, they would have gone with the better reputation name of Cedar Fair.

Over time, it may evolve to like Kings Island, a Six Flags park or something like that instead of Six Flags over Kings Island.  I would be shocked if Six Flags is removed from park names completely and not added in some fashion to the FUN parks.

Great adventure must be a trial park. They have left out Six Flags at times. For example...it wasn't Six Flags Holiday in the Park, it was Great Adventure's Holiday In The Park.  They also have opened up a Sweet Spot and installed refresh stations very similar to CF.

And what's the deal with the Funsultant?  The new one looks like a mean lady. I wonder if they are purposely building this campaign around the Funsultant not being fun so that Mr. six can come save the day and be the face of six flags again?

Great Adventure is almost certainly a trial park for what's to come. They lost a lot of stuff over the off-season, so I think they have a little extra money to "fix" more things. It also helps show more investment in the park so guests don't immediately think the park is on its way out. Magic Mountain also got a fresh marquee sign refurbishment this year and put up an old logo. "Six Flags" is on that sign, but is secondary to "Magic Mountain" and less visible than the park name. 2025's FrightFest/Haunt and Holiday in the Park/Winterfest will be a good way to gauge how quickly things will move over the next few years. The initial growing pains might be done by then and corporate can move forward with their future plans.

Those parks are also one of the reasons why I think "Six Flags" will be dropped from some of the park names. If the Legacy Cedar Fair method sticks then I think we'll see "A Six Flags Park" stick at only a few of the Legacy Six Flags park logos and not come to any Legacy Cedar Fair park logos. SF Over Texas, SF Over Georgia, SF St. Louis, and SF New England aren't going to get rid of it unless they change their names (unlikely). I also think they only went with the Six Flags name for corporate purposes Most of these parks can speak for themselves, especially once the Legacy Six Flags parks are brought up to the higher standards. I could be completely wrong. That's the fun part about all of this. Nobody knows what may happen next.

I think the Funsultant character is supposed to say We're serious about FUN — although I don't know that it's working. That line might have been a direct quote. The only ads I've seen with her (and the Funtern) have been the first ad where they didn't show her face and the ones that I looked up online. None of the actual Funsultant ads have naturally popped up on my no-ad-blocker and higher-than-most YouTube/social media screen time. Bringing back Mr. Six would be great as long as he isn't held back and is not used to directly sell Silver Passes. I think it'd be a better way to re-introduce people to Six Flags. So many things could be done. Send out a fleet of new Six Flags busses on a US tour. Those things are like the Weiner Mobile in how recognizable they are. Advertise all of the investment being put into each park. Post those to the big corporate social media account. Get the word out that Six Flags is back, new and improved (whether we on here think so or not).

Agree. Mr. Six wouldve been a much more exciting and effective character to appeal people.. heck.. I would volunteer to be Mr.Six! I need a reason to dance around again :p

i think fun-sultant isnt the most interesting thing.. BUT that doesnt matter too much to me since Im going to the parks already anyways.

-----------

I didnt see a specific thread for this.. but Queen City Coaster (there's no more stunting, Ive declared :p) ... having no sound, no visuals, and no fire is... as the kids say... kinda lame, dawg.

If they dont want the original look, and somehow loved spending money they dont need to (which I know sometimes can happen).. id love for the walls to make it seem like you're inside the great american ballpark (without the great american brand)... and the fire... can come out of the smoke stack that the fireworks come from..

That or we arrive in skyline and the tunnel has the real skyline kitchen's smells pumped into the tunnel XD

Or- or none of that.. thats fine too.. I guess.

Recently, I revisited King's Island for the 5th time in my existence. I was only able to find time to ride 3 rides. I was soooooooo close to riding The Beast, but things did not turn out well. I ended up ejecting my lunch from my body and returning home.

I got there at around 11am and was going to celebrate my 5th visit by riding the Drop Tower. My friend and I waited in line anywhere from 15 - 20 minutes and rode the Drop Tower. I ended up riding the side that looks out of KI. From the ride, my friend and I could see our other friends waiting in line for Banshee as the tower spun. We also rode Banshee after waiting in an hour long line. From there, I went to Coneys to have a pulled pork sandwich and corn on the cob. From there, I rode Orion with the whole group. While waiting in the 45 minute wait, my friends and I were able to play Wavelength. Wavelength is a game I find fun and only learned it for the first time in that line. After riding Orion, it was decided we would all ride The Beast. About three minutes away from riding The Beast, I ejected my lunch. I did not Ride The Beast and ended up waiting for a ride home. I hated to cause my best friend to have to cut his day short because we had the same ride home. All in all, I was glad that my best friend was more than willing to make my trip to King's Island happen. His birthday is coming up soon and I'm excited for him. Can't wait for the next time!

Time to revoke my pass!

I swear if a madhouse or something lame gets put in that building that housed the best dark ride of all time, I'm never going back.

Don't push it too hard. I'll try to tell Mike Koontz to send you something Tomb Raider related stuff. And if I can't, well 2027 could be the year Vortex returns.

Oh well. I want some of that theming. I'm not kidding, I'll buy it.

TR:TR is a special subject for me and my #1 missed credit. At least I got it in 2008 and 2010, to which that 2008 cycle on Crypt actually horrified me. And not in a  good way.

I'm not really sure what to expect in there if they are actually using the old TRTR building. I imagine a flat ride of some kind, but it would be rad if they put some kind of small wild-mouse type coaster in there kind of like The Dark Knight coasters at the Six parks. Either way, that building having a new lease on life would be really great. It would offer some relief from the summer heat/colder/rainier days for one, but also waken up a dead space in the park. Excited to see if this chalks up to anything good.

And because it's in a building, we won't necessarily know what is actually going in there. Sure, we may see some track/pieces of a ride, but we probably won't know the layout or anything of that sort until the announcement or some sort of leak/permit happens. I'm really excited to see what is coming, and think this is a good use of that empty space (at least it's not used until Haunt).

I think a dark ride would be great for KI, and fills an empty spot that they don't really have, except for maybe Boo Blasters. If we got some interactive dark ride, that would be really cool! It would fit in to the "family thrill attraction" and the Crypt building would be a great space for that. They do already have Boo Blasters, but it's really outdated. If you got rid of Boo Blasters and then put an interactive dark ride in the Crypt building, then that leaves the Boo Blasters building for something less thrilling and more Snoopy-ish.

You could theme this interactive dark ride to the Rivertown Mines where you enter the Rivertown Mining Company on a minecart and try to collect gold and diamonds. Or, you could have the minecart go "off track" and the bats (or some other monsters) start attacking you and you have to "blast" them to get rid of them. There are endless possibilities with an interactive dark ride, and would be fun for families to enjoy, while still being thrilling.

I wouldn't mind a wild mouse dark ride like The Dark Knight or a spinning ride like Laff Track in darkness like @DJSkyFoxx said. But, I think I prefer the interactive dark ride. We shall just have to wait and see what ends up happening! :)

Does anyone have photos of said activity going on in the crypt building? Maybe someone here can get some photos of the backside of the building from The Beast plaza.

I’ve heard they use a portion of the building for storage.

You can see it in Tower Topics where you can barley see drills and trash containers for drilling concrete.

I wish they would go for gusto and add in a ride like Verbolten in and out of the building.  It surely has the potential to be a record breaking family thrill attraction.  You have plenty of outdoor space, you have got height inside the building for some great interior elements and an opportunity to add to the lore of the area.

But, whatever they do..please address the look of the outside of the building.  Some paint would go a long way and some projection mapping lights would be great at night.  Or just tear it down if it's not going to be used.  Give up the ghost.

I don't have many great photos, but I do have this one I took a few weeks ago. I was watching from The Beast queue and there were two electricians laying wires and working on the power management system inside the door seen open in this photo. Sorry because of the lighting I couldn't capture what I saw from my eye level.

Honestly, I'd bet it's a new haunt. Cedar Flags probably won't spend the money to do anything major to that building.

I would agree unless we see definitive evidence otherwise. With all the staff cuts across the chain, I would agree with the second statement as well.
