I actually haven't been to it since 2015 when I went with my former church youth group when I lived in Indiana. In fact, I only went for 2 out of the 3 days as I was in Cincy for a conference downtown that same week and after the conference ended we met up with the group at KI. However, I do like the concert atmosphere that SS brings to the park and I know some people who love going every year. It also brings in a ton of church groups every year so imo it adds to the atmosphere of the park.3 points

4 more cars to be set for Monster and... Racer train is on the track!3 points

It's called crowd control (they hope LOL).... Only open until 7 will prevent the masses from showing up after work for only an hour or two. The crowd in recent years when only open until 7pm was a lot less than staying open another hour until 8pm.3 points

Passholder preview Friday April 14th from noon to 7pm. I guess they figure that will hopefully keep the crowds kinda light. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/gold-platinum-pass-preview?fbclid=IwAR0dqUKycFw2QJuShk8efe1I7Szdiflh-mbPzimMdZgSZyj8V4oStBbvuvg3 points

Between someone posting a screenshot of the Subway sign removed from the webcam and the website not showing Subway as a Dining location, you may want to rethink your 92% sure LOL Considering there is a drink stand almost right next to the old Tom+Chee, I doubt it will be another soft drink stand.... Let's see them keep open the ones they already have before adding another one LOL. https://www.visitkingsisland.com/dining3 points

I am guessing here, but maybe they don't want a huge crowd on this day. Given the past preview days since Mystic Timbers, it has been swamped and there are always technical delays, new employee issues and the like. Having a smaller crowd would be better for the employees and the clientele.2 points

Last year though was Good Friday when a lot of people and students (and thus KI employees) would be off work (either holiday/spring break or vacation). But April 14th, the two local Districts Kings and Mason are not on Spring Break and do not have the 14th off, and most schools do not either. Staffing will be interesting... Wonder how many first timer employees will be working the preview day (one of the benefits of preview day is for training of staff)...2 points

Just remember at this time last year (offseason) that Slingshot was being re-painted for the 2022 season....so not all your reasons were necessarily true at the time they started the repaint...2 points

Age, staffing, low capacity, pay attraction. not popular unless it was cheap. Most parks are doing away with pay per ride attractions. Also same company with the Drop Tower incident.2 points

I am glad that they are opening, I was just stating that the hours of the preview event could be limiting to those that work/are in school. Seems rather odd to close at 7. Would have been better to stay open until 9 or 10.2 points

Maybe some people should have paid more attention to grammar school English lessons.2 points

Kind of stinks that the preview day hours are 12-7. Some people that are in school/work won`t be able to get up there until around 5. Although it is the week after Easter, so some people might be on spring break then. Bring back the 5-10pm pass holder preview days.2 points

As a Skyline fan, I am disappointed if there is only one location in the park. The Coney Mall location this past season was either closed when I wanted it or had a really long line that I didn`t want to wait in.2 points

I don’t mind more B&Ms since they are fun, reliable, and people eaters. But do agree I wouldn’t mind something a bit different next. Really think either a Gerstlauer infinity or a Mack multi-launch (or Intamin blitz if that was an option) would be great next. Maybe also an RMC hybrid to fully round out the woodie collection .2 points

Yeah I remember Chick Fil A being removed then returning to Cedar Point, we’ll probably see a return of Chick Fil A in the future. Removing Chick Fil A is a mistake honestly, no other restaurant in the park produces a consistent, quality product like Chick Fil A does. Whether it be hard rice from Panda Express, cardboard pizza from Larosa’s or overcooked noodles from Skyline. Food quality and consistency within the park changed season to season, but one thing that hasn’t waned has been food prices. With meals now pushing over $15 to upwards over $20 with drink, you would want the most for your buck. You never knew what you would get with the other restaurants in the park but you could always fall back on Chick Fil A.2 points

An additional argument. Could we please get another coaster manufacturer for our next install before we look at another B&M model. I enjoy our three B&M's, but it's time for some variety.2 points

So many gas stations and some retailers do this. There has to be value in it for Cedar Fair as well. Especially points for in park spending. 5 points for every visit on your pass. (Promote showing up.) 2 points for every dollar spent. (Reward in park spending.) Extra bonus points for higher priced items or special items in the park they have a high mark up on. (Purchase this $80 hoodie (that we got for $20,) get 20 bonus points. Rewards could be anything from a free blue Ice cream, brownie at Sweet spot up to a fastlane wristband for the day. I don't know how this would not increase in park spending across the chain. Didn't they just add a new position at corporate in the last few years to do what KIC just did for them for free?2 points

I suspect the meal plans played part in the demise of the dollar days.1 point

Last year it was also 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. I really wish Kings Island would do the preview day they announced for 2020 before the pandemic started. Preview Day that year was initially scheduled to be 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Before 2020, it was 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM for a while.1 point

Then why not be 100% LOL Didn't last years map at this time have Slingshot on it.... Can you explain away WHY they removed Subway from the website then...it has been scrubbed from every place, including obscure FAQ links.1 point

I'd love to have one of those crazy GCI dueling hybrid coasters right up front when they redo Action Zone. And I'd love to see that rethemed back into a past land that ties into the new land.1 point

Tom and Chee's new location is now listed on the website: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/dining/tom-chee And Skyline now lists only Coney Mall: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/dining/skyline-chili1 point

I'm not sure if it's been said yet, but Tom and Chee is moving into Chick-fil-a's former space and Skyline will no longer be on International Street.1 point

It depends on how Pipeline at SWO runs. Is it comfortable for all riders? The trains are what are going to make or break it.1 point

If they had the cost to change the train, Scenery, And special effects throughout the ride.1 point

KI got lucky as it seems their version of the ride aged the best out of all three. Also, @CoastersRZ, where you at! What’s up with that weird structure on the roof???1 point

They didn't, Speaking about water, I can see replacing the water in the Helicopter scene with air blasters. And maybe get new lighting effects.1 point

I did ride it a couple of times under the Italian Job name. It wasnt really a splash down. It was like yard sprinklers that sent multiple strong streams of water outwards as the train passed over the track.1 point

I mean, even if it had EVERYTHING promised in the promotional artwork and video, it still would’ve been a mid tier short ride for that regime. How they didn’t place an action movie themed ride in the area of the park known as “Action Zone” (who’s loose theme was action movies and sets), will always boggle my mind. Also, reading back a few pages, CBS gets a lot of flack for that ride being “budget cut,” but I believe CBS wasn’t fully in charge until early 2006. And IJ:ST would’ve been in planning stages a bit before its 2005 debut. I think Paramount/Viacom was just always cheap.1 point

Hello, I have a YouTube channel where I focus on recreating Kings Island in Minecraft at a 1:1 scale. I do this by using Google Earth and measuring each block as a meter. I put a lot of time and effort into the project and try to get as much detail as possible within the constraints of being a video game. It is an ongoing project and I will continue to upload videos as I make progress. I recently was given the suggestion of posting here on the forums to show people what I have been working on. So I am not looking for anything other than to provide the link to the channel and some images incase anyone here is interested. Hopefully you find it at least a little bit interesting. https://www.youtube.com/c/ImagineCoGaming Here are some pictures for those interested:1 point
