  1. Great sign that they are working on it. Absolutely love that ride and it would be such a loss for the park both for families and for nostalgic old timers to see a park original and a former Coney Island ride meet it's end. So glad the park is putting the money into fixing it
  2. I wonder if they’ll wait to make an announcement after they close the ride, the anticipation is killing me
  3. Basically bumping old thread to avoid making unnecessary ones. So with all the Haunt drama, I made a three year plan basically for what houses I’d bring to the event to refresh the lineup each year. Also with this, I’m assuming no new rides would be built that interfere with the venues, and that Six Flags keeps the IPs they currently own the rights to. As a recap for 2025- Order of the Dragon (Blackout Building) The Conjuring: Beyond Fear (Madame Fatale’s) 2026- Dark Ride (KillMart)- A KI version of the dark ride haunt house originally featured at Knott’s and brought to some other legacy Cedar Fair parks. I love the trend of bringing the Knott’s mazes that work well into the Six Flags parks, as you’ll see with a later house. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Slaughterhouse)-See other Six Flags houses for reference) 2027- Trick r Treat (Cornered)-Outdoor house based on the movie. Train of Terror:The Ghosts of Rivertown: Basically what they used to do for Tombstone Terror-Tory, have a live storyteller give like stories about the forest of Rivertown, and then have actors run out towards the train. The only issue is how to logically make a stop like before if they wanted to do that. Basically option A. unload at Soak City, make a small loop around the outside of the station around to the park entrance, then loop back and board the train back to Rivertown. Option B. Unload at Soak City station, and walk back towards Planet Snoopy with the path being themed (reusing a lot of props from cornered). Both present logical issues, but I think an elaborate ride overlay like this would be really special. For the actual train ride, I think scenes with ghost cowboys in the town scene, a yeti creature in the woods, the ghost girl in the fort, and tree monsters fitting in with Mystic Timbers would be cool. I don’t think they’d have the same popularity as a horror train experience, but extra spooky overlays for the Antique Autos (Route 666) and whatever the rumored dark ride is for 2026 () would be cool too. 2028- Puppets Unstrung (Hotel St. Michelle)- Enter an abandoned theater of sinister puppets, blah blah blah blah. The Depths (Alien Abyss)- Another Knott’s adaptation, lookup a video of that for reference. I think with this plan for the houses, the upcharge would really be worth it. Then after this basically replace two houses every year: It would be cool to add any additional houses to the lineup, but I’d prefer quality over quantity. Also for each year, add a new show or scarezone as well.
  4. Would love more PT merch, I wear the shirt/hoodie they sold for Encore everytime I’m at the park (shamelessly sharing concepts I’ve made)
  5. First since entry to the Conjuring is limited (just like VIP Parking) it seems wrong to sell something that is one time every visit for something with limited capacity. I think they would sell more season long if they offered a 39.99 or 49.99 tier that included one (or two) conjuring along with all mazes through the regular line. Again, we are in a capitalistic society so one could infer that they are selling alot of these, otherwise there would not be upping the price. Hard to blamke them. Capitalism is King most chase the almighty dollar. Sure the mazes used to be free and now they charge for them, kind of like putting podcasting content behind a pay wall when all content used to be free. The old swicheroo.
  6. Yeah, Terpy would be having a field day with this merger! I think the only way that would be a violation would be if that was their intent all along to not do these improvements and they mentioned it to deceive investors. I think they could make the argument that company performance failed to meet expectations and proceeding with these improvements and taking on more debt would be more detrimental to the shareholders than delaying the improvements. But I am not a lawyer and blah blah blah lol
  7. That’s exactly what they did. They pulled the passes off sale just long enough for KIC, Facebook, TT, etc., to start blasting out “sold out!” posts. Then, magically, the very next morning, they’re back on sale—only at a higher price. It’s not that they sold a certain number of passes. They sold however many they happened to until a set date, then jacked up the price. Same old “Price goes up September 1!” Gold Pass gimmick—just slimier. And look, for those who don’t listen to Tower Topics and for whatever reason care what I think: I’m totally fine with this IF it actually means a better product. I’ll pay for an improved experience. But if 2026 rolls around (assuming we even get Haunt—never underestimate Six’s ability to screw things up) and we’re stuck with a bunch of half-staffed, low-effort mazes besides the new ones then this whole thing’s going to blow up in their faces. That said, I get why people are mad. Folks bought passes expecting the mazes to be included—like they had been for almost 25 years. Yeah yeah, I know someone will run in waving the T&Cs saying, “Technically they can do this!” (have fun at media day, by the way). But come on—this rollout was about as shady and non-transparent as we’ve all come to expect. My take: 30% chance: They actually deliver something elevated, it catches on, and people come to see the upcharge as worth it. 70% chance: The new stuff is solid, but the rest is the same tired filler. People may feel like maybe Conjuring is worth it, but everything else is a ripoff. By 2026, sales dip, by 2027 the mazes are a Prestige perk, by 2028 they’re back in Gold, and by 2030, everything’s reverted to how it’s always been. At the end of the day, Kings Island’s Haunt worked because the mazes were included, and that’s why the lines were huge. If you wanted haunted houses specifically, there’s already plenty of competition around here. So is this going to stand alongside Dent Schoolhouse, Land of Illusion, and the rest? Or is it going to be, in my brother’s words, “a crap sandwich, hold the bread”? Your move, Kings Island.

I think the thing with all of this is, who can justify dropping money on anything at Six Flags when they've proven that they can and will change the rules on you whenever they please? I can't imagine dropping a grand on an All Season Fast Lane when, for all you know, you won't be able to use it on any coasters without paying an extra $10 per visit for your Coasters and More Access Pass. They blew through decades worth of goodwill with their most loyal customers in a desperate attempt to make a quick buck. And it's a lot harder to earn goodwill and good word of mouth than it is to lose it.
  9. I had to look up these up and the only thing that might fit (at least in my mind, which could be 100% wrong) is them changing their planned ride installs that was already announced in previous calls? If you invested based on those already announced installs to investors, (then reverse course later) some may have sold or made different decisions with their investments. Could that be a thing? It sure would be nice to have Terp's opinion on this.
  10. Would be nice if the article said what the violations were....having poor performance isn't a securities law violation... https://www.kget.com/business/press-releases/accesswire/1062877/six-flags-entertainment-corporation-fun-under-investigation-for-potential-securities-law-violations-contact-levi-korsinsky-today/
  11. +1 for more merch, especially a hat!
  12. So I will say: I’m fine with them making the mazes upcharge without telling passholders, and I do know I said in previous messages that the pricing was too low for the express lanes, but I will say I think it’s misleading and unfair to yet again raise the price of an all season express pass ticket for the second time in 24 hours. Props to the park if they’re trying to limit the amount of express passes sold, but also I’d rather them just stick to a constant price and if they sell out they sell out rather than randomly changing the price without warning. Also like I know it wouldn’t be in the park’s benefit, but I wish they sold a non-express all-season haunt pass.
  13. Thats awesome! I'm hoping to see more PT merchandise, as I've said before I would like it if they made hats as well.

I just hope that when they cancel Winterfest at the 11th hour in 2026 to "focus on the core Spring and Summer seasons," people flood the park with questions about how cancelling Winterfest will add value to their Spring and Summer seasons to offset the loss of Winterfest. Not just words. Examples. Of course, I'm sure there will be certain shills that will defend the park to the bitter end for pulling the event after selling you your 2027 pass. Spoiler alert: it's the same ones who keep quoting the "gotcha" language in the fine print when people express (what I think is valid) frustration for charging extra for the Haunt stuff when they never did in the past... in exchange for VIP parking and access to media days. Someone correctly alluded above— if you can pack tens of thousands of people into a single place during the Christmas season and can't find a way to make money off them, then you shouldn't be working in a serious role in the theme park industry. You should be bagging groceries.
  15. Literally the anticipation has been killing me too. I’m so curious if they’re like “saving” a new ride announcement to package with another announcement that might be controversial. Something like “Invertigo isn’t reopening or Congo Falls is closing, but here’s the new ride!!” Mostly because I suspect they announced Boo Blasters closing the same day as they confirmed haunt’s an uncharge to do a similar thing. My thought for the announcement is that it’s made sometime next week, or even on the last day for Boo Blasters so that they can put up themed construction walls for whatever the new attraction is. Also like 90% of the gp wouldn’t know, but there’s a high chance that in the first week of September permits leak whatever the plan is for the new ride. (Also unrelated slightly, but I’m kinda sad that a lot of people on Facebook and stuff seem to be confused that the Phantom Theater reboot and Planet Snoopy retheme is a 100% confirmed thing. Sorta lessens the impact they would’ve had coming directly from the park, but I’m still having a helpful doubt for the rumors so I’ll still be excited)
  16. Ik this likely wouldn't happen due to logistical reasons, but I'd like to see a Haunt on the Eiffel Tower brought back. Also bring back the scare zone at the base of the tower.
  17. I'm glad we are seeing more PT merch at KI, I haven't seen it but I wonder if there was any PT merchandise that Kings Island sold in the 90s when the ride was new.
  18. I got this shirt on Sunday after seeing your pic!

For what it's worth, adjusting the hours at Carowinds may not be as off-base as you may think. First, the daytime temperature averages 52-56'ish during the day in December. Not as many NC/SC residents like going out in 30-something temps at night like in Cincinnati. Secondly, it isn't daylight at at 9pm in December like it is in the summer. Sunset in December is similar to Cincinnati: 5:15pm. so, if they close at 7.... that's almost 2 hours of nighttime lights. and more daytime "heat" for ride riders...
  20. Good idea! If you made it the high-tier reward, people might be willing to visit one or two more times and that brings in better attendance for them. And you could do a 10% off Conjuring Maze coupon as well
  21. Now they are just toying with us.
  22. we don’t know how many of these all season access passes that they actually sold. It seems like they are now saying that they were “sold out” to make a sense of urgency for people to buy the passes that they are now offering for $75….. we know the kind of behavior that this company engages in when selling passes
  23. Hopefully they will get it up and running for Haunt. I know realistically they may not open it at all this season, but seeing it back up and running would be great, even if it's just for a little longer. I appreciate them keeping this old classic alive.
  24. I know they would never do it, but imagine a retracked Invertigo in the same way The Great Nor'Easter (Vekoma SLC ) has been, giving it a super improved experience and some revamped trains with better tracking capabilities and the new style restraints Vekoma now uses. I know that would never happen as that would be a very expensive overhaul, but the ride quality and overall experience would be leveled up while also keeping the only operating Vekoma Invertigo stateside in operation and far better.
  25. You can thank KIC for that even being there. Once it became a hot thread after everyone noticed it was fenced off (and no info from the park.) I reached out to the gold tag I communicated with, and the next day that was on their website.
  26. I hate to see any ride retired and leave KI. I have seen too many in my life and losing the original Eagles still hurts. After just visiting Cedar Point again after a few years last week, I'd love a Maverick style coaster anywhere in the park. But, especially in the old Vortex spot. (or a ground up RMC, one can wish). I saw tons of kids and parents riding Maverick as intense and fun as it is. Not the biggest coaster in the world, but sure packs a fun punch. Took my youngest son for his first CP visit and Maverick was his first ride and favorite as well as Top Thrill 2. With Millie a close 3rd. Lightning Run In KK surprised me too the first time I ever rode it as a coaster that is family friendly. But wow, what ride! When I was a young kid, KI often pushed the boundaries a bit with the coasters they installed...The Beast, original Bat, King Cobra as examples. I think there is plenty of want for a more intense coaster experience watching young kids riding all the intense coasters at CP.
  27. I rode Son of Beast in 2003 when it still had the loop, I was about 7 years old and when I rode it, it scared the living daylights out of me, to the point where I never rode it again. It was the loop that actually scared me I'm not sure why I didnt ride it again when they eventually removed the loop but it's too late now!
  28. "Dear Ms. Parton, have you ever been to Ohio?" I heard on a recent GreenTagged podcast that some of the decisions Six Flags made in 2025 are consistent with a company that is "cash poor" and needs cash now [Call JG Wentworth, 877-CASHNOW]. Someone who understands the above point would probably be willing/able to rake in cash while steering the company in a direction like a Herschend executive would.
  29. “It’s going to be fine, Cedar Fair will be running it” said many when the merger was announced.
  30. “C6 entertainment properties” was my vote.
  31. Agreed, we got a bad taste in our mouths just of the idea of KI being a SIX park during the rumor stages. They should have rebranded as "Cedar Fair, the company that runs Cedar Point and Kings Island."
  32. Let's give the KI landscape team a shout out! From the webcam, the bed in front of The Royal Fountain has looked great all season. The elephant ears they recently put out look awesome in my opinion.
  33. I’m still on my Haunt hyperfixation (which is very normal behavior to be having in January) so I made a layout for the Phantom Theater house idea (and also two other house ideas I had which I wanted to share, but didn’t think they deserved a whole new topic)
