October 24, 20241 yr If a lower height requirement is one of the goals for our next major addition, that actually does make Gerstlauer more favorable over Mack since Hangtime has a height requirement of 48", whereas Copperhead Strike has a 52" requirement.

Although I do want to point out l, the Xtreme spinner has 51 inch height requirement and the Stryker coaster is 50 inches. Cedar Fair specifically selected 52 inches for Copperhead Strike I believe.

It's only a couple hundred feet from the current location. Sadly, that would probably cause Diamondback and possibly Mystic Timbers to have to close for the drone show and only Shake, Rattle, and Roll would be added back to not the rides not closing list as WindSeeker also is closed because of the lasers from International Street. The Beast and Orion (and possibly The Racer) would still be closed due to fireworks. And if they launched from there but then moved in flight to where they are now in the sky, that would shut down whatever goes in Vortex spot. It would be unfortunate to lose that much ride capacity, especially if they decide not to re-open some of them after the show.
October 24, 20241 yr Imo while closing a few headlining rides early for fireworks sucks for those who love night rides, at the same time I feel like it helps encourage people to watch the show on I-street as well as get people out of the park faster so associates don't have to stay as long to do closing procedures (ie putting the ride to bed, cleaning, walking lockout areas).

That only works for the rides that do not re-open like Racer, WindSeeker, Shake Rattle Roll, Eiffel Tower, etc. The majority of people don't leave The Beast line once is shuts down for fireworks. It could be some nights almost an hour it sits between shutting down early, the show, waiting to get the signal to re-open, all the while the line remains open until 10pm and continues to grow. This results in that ride getting out later than had it not closed. It may not be a direct correlation to the amount of time it was shut down, but on many nights, the line could have been cleared out by the time the ride is re-opened had it not had to close.

November 12, 20241 yr I really want a MACK Spinner that includes inversions like Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Mo.

November 12, 20241 yr Have you ever been on Time Traveler or Ride to Happiness?Time Traveler is not nauseating at all to me. I rode it 25 times in 100 degree weather in the same day and enjoyed every single ride.Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk
November 13, 20241 yr Time Traveler is great! Would love to be able to ride something like it on this side of the Mississippi. @BeeastFarmer it isn't nauseating at all.

While this would be cool, I highly doubt Kings Island or Cedar Six Flags Fair would be able to pull it off not only budget wise, but with the technical side as well. The park/company has struggled in the past several years with operating the basic coasters, cannot imagine how they'd run a coaster with multi launch, turntable, and effects to this caliber. I could be wrong...but yeah, don't see them dropping the kind of $$ needed to build this.

I highly doubt we would see nearly the amount of theming and effects that are present on Voltron Nevera.
November 13, 20241 yr I never really noticed it, but to me, Valrvyn's paint job is similar to Vortex's paint job.

Yes, but Valravn has white paint on the bottom of the track. For a 1:1 paint job to Vortex, both the track and supports would be painted dark blue, with just the rails on the track painted orange.

When I saw this photo, it struck me how much I do miss Vortex. I am hoping that whatever replaces it will be worthy of the site.
November 14, 20241 yr Eh kinda similar.....the "orange" you see is really pronounced by the sun.....it's more like a poo brown up close....grey on the bottom of the track and that blue is almost grey.

December 11, 20241 yr What colors would you all like to see a Vortex replacement (or other new coasters at KI) in? The blue and orange were very pleasing to look at and I wouldn't mind seeing them return in a modified scheme/palette. Personally I am not a fan of gray/white track support colorings, but do think they can work in certain circumstances.
January 2, 20251 yr Something I noticed yesterday while visiting KI on NYE. I use Queue Times versus the Park's app for ride wait times and noticed both WindSeeker and Xtreme Skyflyer were removed from the lineup: Kings Island live queue times Removing Xtreme Skyflyer would make sense considering they have been removing skycoasters chainwide. and WindSeeker's removal would coincide with all the survey markers seen in Coney Mall. Leading to its replacement being the announced 2026 family thrill attraction.

Leading to its replacement being the announced 2026 family thrill attraction. Interesting move. I definitely see Action Zone getting a revamp over the next few years with alot of ride removals on the horizon. I honestly never gave WindSeeker much thought as to potentially removing that. I don't love WindSeeker but I would miss it as the end of Coney Mall already suffered from Vortex being gone.
January 2, 20251 yr I can definitely see Skyflyer getting removed with the ones at Wonderland and CP being taken out. As far as WindSeeker, I always thought it was in a weird bottlenecked location. I would be surprised if it was taken out but it is closed quite a bit (anytime it finds wind lol).
January 2, 20251 yr Losing WindSeeker could also open up opportunities with the Action Theater area again. As others have mentioned, that area can be a bottleneck nightmare and adding something else back there could make it worse. Without WindSeeker, there may be bigger and better options. Skyflyer could’ve been removed years ago.
January 2, 20251 yr I for one really enjoy Skyflyer. Its the biggest thrill in the park to me. I always do it on Pride Night as is tradition. And I might do it if I catch it on the cheap on other visits. I will be sad if they take it down, but I wouldn't be surprised.
January 6, 20251 yr Removing Skyflyer would open up a nice amount of space, but I'd hope the park would wait until they have a major plan to redo Action Zone to do it. A wild mouse coaster might be able to fit there, so maybe it could be a good family-friendly attraction. I feel similarly about WindSeeker, but unless something new and awesome goes inside Action Theater, I don't know that it would be worth it. It would open up the area and allow better access to Action Theater, but the way KMAA juts out into the midway cuts it off from the rest of Coney Mall. There's probably a good way to make the whole area not a bottleneck that I can't think of though

Would think they'd be a hit.

January 31, 20251 yr I think the coaster itself would be fun, but I'd worry about capacity. Also, no bright lighting package there. I think a better spot would be at the front of the park where Invertigo is. Hangtime replaced a boomerang.
