  1. I like that all the Six Flags parks are in the same app. Just a better app overall than what the former Cedar Fair parks have. More engaging, better content, easier to navigate.
  2. If the product allows you to do the same thing, what difference does it make if it's called Fast Lane, The Flash Pass, or Daffy Duck's Quick Access Pass?
  3. It looks like the Six Flags App theme has been updated. It will be nice to have all the parks in one app in the future.
  4. ^I take enthusiast talk with a grain of salt anymore. I believe in the 'those who know don't tell and those who tell don't know' approach. A lot of enthusiasts are 20-somethings who aren't privy to the whole picture of things and cherry pick one or two things to try and predict something without taking in the wider picture. I'll believe it when I see it, but I'm not putting much value into predictions with the initial high emotions a lot of enthusiasts are having at this early moment in the merging process. Heck, I don't even consider MIA or Great Escape on the chopping block yet either, it's too early to predict anything like that IMO.
  5. ^I don't buy that. I drove that distance last summer doing my trip and SFA definitely has the DC and Baltimore markets to pull from comfortably. DC and Baltimore to KD, HP and DP are a hike. I'm taking the patient approach to all this. I'm nowhere close to the doom and gloom approach a lot of the KI fanbase is taking, especially knowing that CF higher ups are still mostly in control of things. I'm choosing to be cautiously optimistic for now.
  6. I guess we'll see what their new season pass structure is going to look like next month when the 2025 season passes start to go on sale.

Sure! Google keeps enabling new "Ad Experiments" and makes it difficult to disable them. I've gone through and turned them off wherever I could find them. I'm not sure if it happens instantly or if it takes a few hours for the changes to take effect.
  8. I remember there was a "Beast" monster with red fog machines by it on The Beast during Halloween Haunt 2010, it was located near the final turn before the 2nd chain lift. It was cool to see that.
  9. It would be cool to see this somewhere in the woods when you’re riding The Beast
  10. Same with a fireworks ride on WindSeeker! Those were incredible.
  11. A random and fun tidbit for all of you. If you get on Google Maps and place yourself in the Kings Island parking lot, you will be placed back in August of 2011!!! You will see Son of Beast, Invertigo and Delirium's old paint scheme, When you click around the parking lot you'll get some neat action shots of the rides and just the overall vibe of that time. Just figured I would share this. I kinda love that this is frozen in time.
  12. I've been hearing about this, but haven't personally experienced it on any of my visits thus far. Hopefully whatever is going on with it isn't anything that will have it removed any time soon. I know I am in the minority here, but I actually like it. It's also the only Vekoma Invertigo model operating in the states. If it gets kept around for awhile longer I would love to see it get updated shoulder harnesses. That would really make a huge difference in the ride experience. Granted I have it figured out how to ride it, I would not argue having a more comfortable restraint system. I would argue to say this is one of the more intense coasters in the park.

Trade you my mail order bride and wedding dress
  14. If you look at how most people view SFA compared to other parks, the reviews are not great. Not saying it needs to be axed but I’ve also heard that the land value is pretty high.
  15. Many would not like it if they changed The Beast to Goliath or The Racer to The Bosses. They'd still do the same thing, though.
  16. Subjectively, Id rather be balls to the wall the entire ride than have track thrown in . While Fury 325 is a better overall ride than Orion, I prefer Orion's ending instead of Fury's gradual slowdown. Millennium Force is similar in this regard.
  17. People are going to call it the wrong name no matter if they keep it or change it,.
  18. The sad thing is that there are people who still don't fully grasp the current pass structure let alone if there are more options added to a future offering portfolio
  19. Great thought, but you know people will decide to try the other park type and complain they can't get in.
  20. I think they should have a Cedar Fair Legacy Passport for the ones who don't have any desire to visit the Six Flags parks or just don't want to pay all that money. Same with Six Flags parks, there should be a Six Flags Legacy Passport that only works for the Six Flags parks. Nobody should obligated to get a Passport for ALL parks for a expensive price.
  21. It’s been shared on Facebook and the like.
  22. Where did you find this video?
  23. It was stated in many articles today that.... "The companies plan to leverage their licensed intellectual property in their parks, with Six Flags holding a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery for rights to characters from DC Comics and Looney Tunes, and Cedar Fair controlling rights to the Peanuts universe."
  24. It's a stretch to say this is the end of legacy Six Flags IP. Peanuts Worldwide appeared on just about every legacy Cedar Fair URL. And from the very first press release from Six Flags Entertainment Corporation: "ABOUT SIX FLAGS ENTERTAINMENT CORPORATION Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: FUN) is North America’s largest regional amusement-resort operator with 27 amusement parks, 15 water parks and nine resort properties across 17 states in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Focused on its purpose of making people happy, Six Flags provides fun, immersive and memorable experiences to millions of guests every year with world-class coasters, themed rides, thrilling water parks, resorts and a portfolio of beloved intellectual property such as Looney Tunes®, DC Comics® and PEANUTS®." (emphasis mine). Six Flags Entertainment Corporation - Cedar Fair and Six Flags Merger of Equals Successfully Completed, Creating a Leading Amusement Park Operator
  25. In the initial press release for the merger, this was stated: "The combined company will also have entertainment partnerships and a portfolio of beloved IP such as Looney Tunes, DC Comics and PEANUTS to develop engaging new attractions enabled by compelling characters, environments, and storytelling." Perhaps there's a reason they didn't include DC and Looney Tunes on there? If the new Six Flags decided to end their licensing with DC and Looney Tunes, having to retheme every single attraction and area that use those IPs would be a huge project in and of itself given how much old Six Flags used them in their parks.
  26. Especially because at Six Flags, it's not Flash Pass, it's "The Flash Pass" because the character's name is "The Flash" So, "I purchased my The Flash Pass online" is actually the grammatically correct version of that sentence.
  27. Why? Half of the people call it fast pass anyway.
  28. But will they offer an EXPERIENCE????
  29. If you haven't seen it:
  30. Koontz informing the KI staff:
  31. I guess it's a good sign they're still using the Cedar Fair font for the logo?
  32. Looks like they're basically keeping the Cedar Fair style of branding which I'm happy about. I thought the old Six Flags logo/branding was pretty ugly and outdated and the current CF branding felt pretty modern to me. Hopefully we see the current Six Flags parks drop the old Six Flags logos in their names and get new modern CF style logos in their names. Honestly this is giving me Paramount to Cedar Fair vibes and instead it'll be the current Six Flags parks that go through the transition and will see the most changes in the near future. We'll just have to wait and see, but honestly I'm digging the new logo.
  33. You’re absolutely right. Someone broke park rules, trespassed, and paid the ultimate price for it- that’s not on the park. If I was in charge of PR, I’d want to get the facts out as soon as possible so that media personnel don’t have to speculate. “At approximately (insert time) last night, a park guest entered a restricted area in the Action Zone area of the park and was struck by the Banshee roller coaster. At this time we are unable to provide information on the condition of the individual nor the riders who were on the ride at the time of impact. We are working with the state of Ohio as well as local law enforcement as they conduct their investigations into this matter. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the individual and their family, as well as the riders on the train, park staff and others who were involved. We will provide more information once it becomes available. All inquiries should be directed to info@visitkingsisland.com.” What I said was transparent and to the point. It took me 5 minutes to come up with that and it A.) acknowledged that an incident occurred. B.) Provided information. C.) Expressed cooperation and sympathy. D.) Redirected inquires to the park’s email.
  34. What did he think of Soap Box Racers?
  35. Those are some of the best days, sharing a ride with your child that is now tall enough. I take it he liked it?
  36. My 3 year old had his first ride on a “big” rollercoaster on Sunday. Same coaster as my first, Woodstock Express.
  37. Picture perfect day at the park today! Just gorgeous. If the weather could be like this everyday of the season, I would be a pretty content coaster nerd.
  38. Blue was open maybe from Noon or 1pm up until 8pm. When I was in line for Orion, it was around 7:55, both were still operational. When I was walking out of Area 72 only red was running. 8pm was the observed stop time for blue last year.
  39. I’ve barely seen blue racer run on weekdays. It’s closed almost every Friday unless it’s crowded enough that they have to run both sides.
  40. We got in line around 750 and they both were running. Got in the station a bit after 8 and they shut down the Blue side and the workers left. Looks like more early ride shut downs this year.
  41. As of 808 PM, The Racer is only running red.
  42. The landscaping team is running with a pretty small team, combined with limited time in the morning before the park needs cleared along with prepping for the food and wine festival and planting in the waterpark. (We just carved out time last week to do the carousel planter, and the main bed is coming up)
  43. For 52 years they have dealt with it. And if you look at the current flowerbed at the front of the fountain, the flowers are close to the seat wall. If they were that concerned about the plants being violated, they could have planted them in the back.
  44. It doesn't help that kids and their parents have no respect for the landscaping. So much gets destroyed to go get that picture by the sign or decoration. At least it isn't getting torn up this year with the hide a front of the line pass lol. passes
  45. People talk about our reduced hours...meanwhile over at Six Flags over Texas they decided to close on Tuesdays in the summer, along with 7 and 8pm closes (a park that usually pulls 3million in attendance):
  46. I have only rode Mystic once this year. Got an early ride before the school crowds arrived. So the line was not long at all. Last year I witnessed the worst line jumping I have seen in Mystic's line. Groups of people just climbing over railings and getting in front of people on multiple occasions. I called the security number once but did not see the line jumpers get caught. It is so prevalent in that line any given day for some reason. In the past, since I am a big guy, I have told line jumpers to get lost. Now, no one really says anything since these days so many are just prone to fight first or worse if called out. It's a different world these days.
  47. It's almost like... get this... the chaperone policy does... NOTHING!!! Wow, nobody saw that coming... Let corporate keep their touting about this very unfair and flawed policy.
  48. They were on Friday and Saturday nights last week. (Yesterday and the day before).
