As long as people renew their passes with all this degradation, they will continue to cut.

Here's the 2025 entertainment announcement:

New for 2025! Kings Island will amaze guests by turning on the royal fountain for three minutes each hour from June 20- July 1!*

*Conditions subject to change with or without notice.

The 2024 summer show lineup has been posted.

Grand Carnivale will be July 20-August 4.

Very sad to see that preview day is only 4:00-9:00.

Also I just wanted to point out that if drones are back I would imagine the launch area is still in the old Vortex plot of land which would most likely mean no coaster there for 2025.

Also New for 2025! "Toilet Plungers!"-an interactive guest experience where you can join the custodial team first thing in the morning by gearing up for a clogged up good time! Get the VIP treatment by getting behind the scenes tours of the park's latrines, waste systems and how the park manages backed up toilets and sinks!

*May be subject to hazardous waste and must sign a waiver with blood type and a hair folicle. All Parks Passport does not apply*

People in the Facebook groups are saying with authority that Retrospect will be back, but has yet to be announced. That would be strange, but possible. Maybe it’ll just be during Carnivale.

Just an opinion.

Somewhere in the regional park lore it is unwritten that a park must do annual multi-million $ installations to keep the fan base returning.  Meanwhile, since 2020 KI will have created three new themed areas to bring them to a total of 9.  Area 72.... eh... OK. Adventure Port, nice (if it will be kept up), and now Camp Snoopy. What's the long-term vision for this? Will any of these be built onto or will #10 be developed?

Assuming that between Orion and the other two developments there has been $60M+ invested in KI over the past four years. OK, Orion is a "giga"- but it's still just a taller, updated version of Diamondback. Think of the infrastructure, themed area development, show innovation, etc. that could have been invested in to create memories worth repeating. Perhaps an entire, ground-up, remake of Planet Snoopy into a fully immersive "Camp Snoopy" area.  Maybe a fully immersive experience to make use of the TRTR building.

That seems to be a pretty anemic lineup. The bubble show is not even getting a month; there's a country show (I presume at Festhaus) and another "Rad! 80s sports" type thing I pass by at International Showplace. And fireworks. I assume new shows can be added throughout the year, but as of now there's no kids' show in Planet Snoopy, no Bandstand show, nothing with good music (sorry, country fans), and the Kings Island Theater will be empty for 2/3 of the summer. I don't like to complain -- I assume getting casts and productions together for this isn't too easy in a post-COVID world. But, ugh. A big step down from the days when I was a kid and made it a point to see all the shows.

Remind me.....who was running Paramount Parks when CF acquired them?  And how was the entertainment then?  History seems to have a way of repeating itself when the same people are at top.

What’s funny is that I remember thinking about the 2006 season, pre-merger. If I recall, they had the second run of School of Rock in the KIT, and karaoke on the bandstand. Showplace was dark.

Fortunately, I think we have it marginally better than that this year.

I miss School of Rock at the KIT!

School of Rock and Magic of The Movies were probably the best two shows of the last few years of Paramount.  But the cuts in that department in the early 2000s were rough.   And after being built up to the apex  in the past few seasons, its sad to see what they are doing to all of the parks entertainment.

It'll be interesting to see if the number of countries represented at Grand Carnivale is reduced again this year.

Maybe they’ll change it from countries to cities so guests can experience Kings Island like never before with signature food items representing Cincinnati (chili), Dayton (Mike-Sells Potato Chips), Columbus (Fries Dipped in a Milkshake), Indianapolis (Reuben), Louisville (Beaten Biscuits), and Toledo (Biscuits & Gravy).

You’ll want to try them all which makes a Grand Carnivale Tasting Card a great value.

Thats a great idea! It’s amazing what can be found in your own backyard but never knew about.

I wouldn’t be opposed to a US states tasting lineup either.

School of Rock was a great show, but the only thing good that happened with the sorry excuse of a "Hollywood magic show" that was Magic of the Movies was the chainwide renovation of the indoor theaters.

Didn't say they were Broadway caliber shows, but through Paramount ages, those were the highlights.

I wouldn't be opposed to a city/state tasting lineup, so that us Detroiters can come down to Cincinnati and show you how to do chili dogs AND pizza the right way!
